Hey there! Every nonprofit board is different, and of course sometimes emergencies / things come up in life that would require a board member to resign for personal reasons. Without knowing details I would not be sure.

The guy that co wrote the NASB resigned from the team and denounced his involvement in the writing of the NASB. He confessed he had done a grave wrong by his participation and hopes he will be forgiven. Colosians tells us that we are forgiven for ALL sins.

Leaving for ethical concerns can happen for sure but it is probably less common - hopefully the organization is doing a good job serving its community!

Is the position of board members something people apply for? Or I am supposed to approach the people I think will fit the role personal and beg them to become a member of my board?

It can go either way, you can have people apply, or seek out specific people and ask them. But hopefully you won't have to beg! People join Boards all the time because they are inspired to serve a mission.

Hello! Board of Directors members who have voting power cannot get a salary. You can either have a vote, or be hired by the board to be staff and get a salary, but you cannot earn a salary AND have a vote. I talk about that in this video - hope it helps! kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6ileKOdi7R5hrM

I joined a board as their treasurer two months ago. Since then, I have been dealing with much stress and anxiety. I haven't been trained (I was told that I would be), they are struggling financially, there is much ambiguity, and there are expectations of board members that I was not aware of. I am thinking of resigning. Any advice?

Hey there! First, I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience. Before you resign, have you had a frank conversation with your Board's Chair? Their job is to help ensure the rest of the Board feels confident and engaged!

@AmberMelanieSmith Hi Amber, thank you for replying. I had mentioned to the former treasurer that I was confused with a particular situation. In a private meeting, she said that I should not do a particular task. Later, in a group email, she said that I should be doing that particular task. When I mentioned my confusion, she replied that she should remove herself so that I would no longer be confused. I took it that she wasn't happy. This is just one of many examples of miscommunication. I don't want to create strife nor have the previous treasurer completely walk away. I plan on talking to the chair and director to inform them of my decision to leave before sending my resignation letter to the board. I want to leave on good terms.

@@freedom1049 It sounds like you're really trying to communicate here, so that's good. If your board roles and committees don't have a document outlining clear expectations for each role, that would be a recommendation I have for the organization.

Is it ideal to pay the board in percentage of the generated revenue to keep them driven in the company?, because lets be honest, money is a major driver.

If you are starting a nonprofit -- The board of directors cannot be paid. Board members are unpaid volunteers. Staff can be hired and paid, but staff cannot have a board vote.

Hey there! My org has had a google ad grant in the past but honestly it is not something I've worked on much personally! A Google Ad Grant is VERY different from a traditional funding grant. Google Ad Grant does not provide money, but in-kind support. I've done a lot of grantwriting, but it's different.

@@AmberMelanieSmith my organization is kind of for coaches or anything like that it's more of an active social networking and social constructive actions resource. I have a couple of pretty hairy Topix Lake instead of abortion, transplants or fetal transplants thats kind of a big one for me of course I by no means want to trample a woman's rights to choose I just want to achieve a baby's right to exist and to bypass parental rejection I personally believe that do you 50% of genetics are the fathers should represent a self evident truth and they need to be spoken for so I understand that a woman should have the right to choose our destiny and not be subject to imprisonment of her body to achieve an act for someone else that's why I believe that instead of an abortion we should achieve whatever Necessities we need to create a operation.
