it's a sad era for tennis tbh, the new gen are just so weak. Before a slam even started you just knew it would be won by djoko or rafa in the last 2/3 years. The fact that casper made 3/5 finals shows the lvl of the tour (this is not to disrespect him but a decade ago, he'll never have made it), we went from having the likes of del potro, Wawrinka, Murray, Thiem to zverev, tsitsi, casper... The only two that are even remotely competitive are Medvedev (but only on hard courts) and Alcaraz potentially. Wimbledon is basically already decided. No more raonic, Murray, tsonga, berdych, no one can play on grass

Ridiculous. The new gen are the strongest in history, and by a wide margin. Ever since both the ATP increased focus on promoting next gen, creation of the next gen end-of-year finals, and players' association led by Novak himself pushing for more prize money share for lower ranked players, young talent has been given a huge push to close the gap faster with the best the game has seen, and results have been obvious: far more newcomers in the top 20. To be able to stay atop a heap that's at the level the big 3 were a few years ago: that's just how great Novak is. He keeps working & improving.

As a Nadal fan, I’m more of tennis fan than anything and I have to say that Djokovic is a monster. Every time they played against each other, I always feared Nadal playing Djokovic. I knew years ago that Djokovic was catching on to Nadal’s Gand and he truly knew how to beat him. Many times I screamed at the tv screen begging to change his game up against Djokovic. The serve being the biggest thing Nadal need to change and the second thing was Nadal had to change his way he played because he was to predictable. Djokovic’s game is almost perfect, the guy really has no weaknesses.

The biggest difference between let's say Federer against Nadal and Djokovic against Nadal was Djokovic's ability to absorb on his backhand the spin of Nadal's forehand and wide serve on the ad court on break points... Pretty much negated Nadal's greatest assets Add Djokovic's greater physical conditioning post-2011 and mental strength, and you have the game's GOAT

I can’t seem to find the video but I remember a long time ago when Uncle Toni gave an interview and he said that after seeing the first match between Novak and Nadal he told Rafa that they had a problem with Novak. Novak is basically a hybrid of Nadal and Federer. He practically has no weaknesses. Many of the points you’ve highlighted about Djokovic was in his game from the beginning except his service motion. In 2010 Novak had the most DF in the top ten and he was number 3 in the world. Once Djokovic got his service going, his confidence clicked and his physicality just made everything perfect. Man Djokovic is almost unplayable when he’s on. As a die hard Nadal fan. I can safely say that Novak was better than him even at 20/20/20. So my GOAT tier is Novak, Rafa and Roger in that order.

Wrong. Nadal and Djokovic played 10 (TEN) matches at Roland Garros, 3 at the USO, 3 at Wimbledon and only 2 at the AO. So they played 10 matches on Rafas best surface and only 2 on Djokovics best surface. Makes a LITTLE bit of a difference doesn`t it? Regarding the US Open, they were not both in their prime in 2010. It was Nadals best year and Djokovic was slamless that year. Djokovic before 2011 was a much weaker player and was diagnozed with gluten-allergy in 2010. Since then he has dominated the sport (he is ONE year younger than Nadal). Since 2011 Djokovic leads 2:0 at Wimbledon (Nadal won once in 2007 and his other win on grass was Queens club 2008). Fifteen years ago was the last time Nadal beat Djokovic on grass and 10 years ago was the last time Nadal beat Djokovic on a hard court (or even won a set!). Since Djokovic hit his prime things are way different. Nadal still has a very good H2H simply because he had a big lead before 2011 and it was 16:7. SINCE and including 2011 the score is 13:23 in favor of Djokovic who now leads 30:29. They have played more matches on clay (28) than on hard courts (27) and 5 of their last 6 matches were on clay. What are the odds of that?

Good video but you forgot to mention one important detail. Prior to this year, Since 2011, Nadal pulled out of 17 tournaments years due to injury. Only 1 was on Clay. Considering that Nadal hasn't been able to even win a set of Novak on hardcourt in ten years, It's safe to say that not only did Nadal not lose on any tournaments he could have won, but he actually maintained his winning record against Federer and kept himself within distance of Novak by avoiding hardcourts, where almost every player in the top 40 posed more danger to Novak on hardcourt than Nadal did. There is a very high probability that Nadal wasn't as injured as we were lead to believe, if he only missed out on one clay court due to injury in a 10 year span.

It takes a great deal of time to prepare with the Spanish super "doctors" for another clay season that defied all odds. The primary difference is the fact that Nadal was always over dependent on his physicality, while Djokovic worked on efficiency, strategy and technique. Mentally Nadal was also very tough. But once you start loosing to someone consistently, Nadal needed to shift focus on a physical game and work on other aspects as Djokovic did, and use his physicality as a reserve. Probably constant injuries did not give him enough time to work on it.

@@jennysambrook3528 I can. Many don't know about Nadal's dark side of unsportsmanship. But once you know that you understand that he's not only below Federer but also below Djokovic, by a huge margin. At the 2022 Australian Open, he took an break that included both a medical evaluation and a toilet visit, something which is against the rules; Nadal did this between the 4th and 5th sets of his QF match against Shapovalov, when he was on the verge of losing from 2 sets to 0 up. In the 3rd set of the final against Medvedev, Nadal slowed down the match to destroy Medvedev's rhythm and let the racists in the crowd take control, a crowd that was super one-sided anyway. Among his other displays of unsportsmanship: * Bullying opponents mid-match when momentum is with the opponent. Nadal did it to Fognini, Sonego and Berdych, among other players. Djokovic and Federer never behaved like that. * There were times when his opponents hit an ace and Nadal lied and pretended he was not ready. 2 notable examples are the 2017 Wimbledon 4th round match against Muller (4th game of the 3rd set) and the 2019 US Open final against Medvedev (5th game of the 5th set). * Sore loserness. Djokovic has always been humble in defeat, better than any other player of his era. Federer has improved in this category since 2012. When Nadal lost a match he believed he should have won (which happens most of the time) he gives a sore face to the opponent when they shake hands, even against Djokovic and Murray. * Nadal has avoided Djokovic and Federer outside of clay since 2018-2019, once he figured out that he can't beat them on fast surfaces anymore. 4 notable cases are the 2018 Australian Open quarterfinal (retired mid-match against Čilić before the first changeover of the 5th set and avoided Federer in the final), the 2019 Indian Wells masters semifinal (didn't lose a set prior to this match but still gave a walkover to Federer and avoided him), the 2019 Paris indoors masters semifinal (Nadal never won the Paris indoors masters but instead of giving himself a chance he gave a walkover to Shapovalov and avoided Djokovic in the final) and the 2022 Wimbledon semifinal (Nadal was unbeatable in Grand Slam tournaments in 2022 up to this point but instead of giving himself a chance for the Calendar Grand Slam he gave a walkover to Kyrgios and avoided Djokovic in the final). Nadal is far from being the perfect sportsman the media wants you to believe he is.

One of them has the privilege of not having a chronic foot disformity and only had to change his diet. The other on top of already being disadvantaged physically was plagued with injuries. I admit Novak developed over the years into a near perfect player but i wouldn't say nadal wouldn't have been able to reach a similar level of dominance and proficiency, as his body never allowed him to be as physically dominant into such a late age as novak is soing right now. We saw last year that if nadal hadn't gotten injured in wimbledon he would have been a huge contender for the title and personally think he would have brought it to Djokovic. But as always injuries have to stop him when he is at his best.

This video is awful. Basically it just states Novak became a better and more fit player later on, has nothing to do with Nadal. Worst of all there it tries to argue that Djokoviv has a better serve because he made ~1500 more points on second serve than Nadal but Nadal hasv the higher second serve win rate... djokoviv just plays more second serves due to a combination of playing more games per match on average than Nadal and having a lower first serve percentage.. Nadal is better on serve actually, Djokovic has the better return game.

Incorrect, young Nadal was superior to Novak, however his decline came much much faster, hence why he needed to change his game to compensate for his sever drop of speed. Believe it or not, bot Novak and Nadal had plenty similarities, both were counter puncher that smother their opponents, but they went differently Even after the famous 2011 season, Rafa still lead their H2h and Slams finals. The changing factor is that Novaks body was better suited to withstand the decline.

Nadal controversially withdrew from 2016's French Open after destroying Bagnis (6-3, 6-0, 6-3). Just before the round that, for the first and last time in FO story, required mandatory independent PED testing. Since whole Nadal's dominance on clay is based on his physical ability to overrun his opponents, Djokovic's wins on clay should be valued a lot more than on every other surface. It can be compared to Fedor Emelianenko, who fought much bigger and undoubtedly juiced opponents (as well as complete trash cans, but that's another story), finding keys to neutralise pure physical strenght and outsmarting them in general. Hope Novak will be able to find keys to another spanish "natural" physical specimen, who seems to repeat his elder compatriots path, but much earlier in his career.

Right on. Novak has a superior game and does well on all surfaces. Take away RG and Nadal is just a good player, but not a dominating player that most other players fear. Nadal's strength was his mentality and physical play but he lacks so many weapons that Novak has: mediocre serve; mediocre return, standing way behind the baseline. No aggressiveness, hoping for an error ; lack of variety in the backhand, no down-the-line aggressive backhands, inability to redirect the ball like Novak. To top it all, his movement and mobility have worsened over the years with all his injuries. He's done.

A good video, but you have been very selective with facts, even repeating the best ones several times. Basically, they (and Roger) are amazing players but Novak turned pro 2 years later than Rafa, so even if they had the same playing style he would be in better shape. Choosing stretching over brute force and willpower, Novak has been much kinder to his body. When Roger was in his prime, Rafa only had one way to beat him yet still maintained Roger was the better player and almost idolized him. Novak watched these two and their huge popularity and quietly decided he would beat them both, in all possible statistics. The last time Rafa and Novak played, Rafa only lost one set, 2022. One detail you omitted was Novak's dislike of wind and I mention this because it is often a factor on clay. In 2018 Novak completed a 10-8 final set win over Rafa at Wimbledon on a very sunny day with the roof closed...I did wonder if the result would have changed with an open roof. With 23 grand slams, Novak can only increase his claim as the greatest ever; to eclipse Roger and Rafa during the most competitive period in tennis is unparalleled.

I do not understand why there is even a discussion about who the greatest tennis player of all times is, when Nadal is not no.1 in any main tennis category. My favorite " theory" is that No23VAK benefited from the " weak era", and that he played a bunch of " nobodies" lately in GS finals. My question is, how come Nadal could not benefit from the " weak era " at the same time like No23VAK ( H2H 40-11 vs. the current top 10 players,w/ l (+29).Rafa' s H2H vs. the current top 10 is 25 - 8.,w/l (+17).Nadal is the GOAT, his fans would like you to believe, bc according to them, he beat " prime" Federer. Of course, what they do not say is that Rafa lost to Roger in 2017 AO final, and Roger lost to Djokovic in 2014 Wimbledon, when he was 3 yrs.younger. The same goes for Federer fans they do not brag that Agassi was 35 and had bad back when he lost to Roger in USO final, or that Cilic had blisters in Wimbledon final, and played like he would rather be somewhere else.

Honestly Novak is not the best tennis player. Novak only dominates in Australia but he is behind Federer in US Open by 2 Grand Slams, Nole is also behind Federer in Wimbledon and worse he is 11 Grand Slams behind Nadal in Roland Garros which is an impossibility for Novak. Federer even retired beats Novak in US Open and Wimbledon. Honestly Novak is not even close to being the GOAT.

@anton12346 You forgot to mention where is Federer compared to Djokovic in RG, and where is Nadal compared to Djokovic in Wimbledon. But let' s do this: I say Djokovic won more GS titles than Federer on 2/3 GS surfaces ( hard courts and clay), and he won more GS titles than Nadal on grass and hard courts. Please remind me to compare notes with you in less than 10 days, when ( not if) Djokovic wins Wimbledon #8.Federer, by the way, never won a single title in Monte Carlo/ Rome, do you have ANY IDEA how many titles No23VAK won there?Every Federer fan is crying and complaining that Federer was " NOT IN HIS PRIME" (as if that' s No23VAK' s problem !) in 2011 and in 2014 ( although he lost to Djokovic in SF and finals), but, of course, there were no complaints when Federer jumped on Djokovic while he was a teenager ( hardly in his prime), when Federer opened up 7-2 H2H lead. Can you explain why Federer was " TOO OLD" in 2014 and 2015 Wimbledon finals, but still managed to win two GS titles in 2017( while Djokovic was injured with bad elbow), and beat Nadal in AO final? Don' t you think it is a little bit strange that Roger had 16 GS titles in 2010 (15 more than Djokovic), and that he won only 4 more GS titles in the following decade, while Djokovic won between 2011 - 2016 ELEVEN(11) GS titles? Do you know that Federer had only 4 seasons where he won more matches than he lost to Djokovic, while Djokovic had 9 (NINE) SEASONS when he won more H2H matches vs. Roger?Roger beat Djokovic ONE TIME (2014 Dubai), after No23VAK won the first set, Djokovic beat Federer SEVEN (7X) TIMES after Roger won the first set.

@@djordjelezajic8435 I am just showing the REAL reasons why Novak is not the best tennis player. How is Novak going to be the best tennis player when out of the 4 Grand Sland he only dominates in 1 and is losing in the other 3 ? This is very simple to understand…
@djordjelezajic8435

@anton12346 The only thing easy to understand, honestly, is that you set up a filter ( requirement ( that Roger benefits from, and then simultaneously compare Djokovic to Federer AND Nadal at the same time ( honestly). When Roger won GS title no.15, in 2009, and surpassed Sampras, Roger had six (6) Wimbledon titles ( Sampras had 7), Roger had 5 USO titles ( like Jimmy Connors and Pete Sampras), he had 3 AO titles ( Andre Agassi had 4).and Roger had one RG title. So - according to your theory, obviously, Roger was not really " leading" in any GS tournament, unless you consider the three way tie when it comes to 5 USO titles, but EVERYBODY CALLED ROGER THE GOAT- even Tio Toni, Rafa' s favorite uncle. I did not invent the rule that the player with the most GS titles is the GIAT, but now that No23 VAK has more than made up the -15 GS title deficit behind Federer since 2010, the rules are being changed daiky.Nobody expects FEDAL fans to like, support or respect Djokovic as the greatest, you keep worshiping these two, while Djokovic continues to push forward. In the end, the only hope for your guy(s) to look good in comparison with THE REAL GOAT is an attempt to try to match and compare No23VAK' s weakness to Roger and Rafa ' s strength.

People so easily forget Nadal has played his whole career with a chronic foot injury and other physical handicaps that have hampered him. Rafa never had control over these injuries and yet he surpassed all doubts to become the ultimate Great. Prime Nadal is unbeatable. No player other than Rafa would have done what he did against Federer in the wimbledon 2008 final.

You guys keep beliving that the only thing that prevented Nadal from winning more were his injuries. Djokovic tactical game was simply superior. Once he fixed his allergy problems and equalled Nadal's physical resilience, he just beat him so many and consecutive times, even on clay.

Federer also once he figured out Nadal's heavy top spin forehand, he just dominated him. Nadal could not beat Federer on Hard courts anymore.

Fed is the goat. He was toppling giants like Sampras and Agassi while Djoker was a child, and dominated the greatest era in tennis history. Fed makes shots routinely that no other player even tries. Djoker had to wait for Fed, Nadal, Murray, and Stan to decline before he started to dominate. Novak is easily the second best of all time. His killer backhand, incredible fitness, mental strength, and high calibre shot consistency puts him right up there with Fed.
