I really love this theory. Another thing I though that could help support it is Ralph's reaction when he listens to his own recordings. It allways takes him a second to realise his listening to his own voice, as if he didn't even remember what he sounds (or sounded) like, and took hik a bit to remember each time

I really like this theory, not only because it fits what we know about ghosts in the fnaf universe (and how they remain in a loop not knowing they're dead), but also suggests the minigames in fnaf are the result of either agony or remnant and so they actually happen on an arcade in the game's world. This is such a good and unique theory !! It provides an explanation for the rerun being the canon ending other than "well its just meta". Maybe Bronwen possessed her mobile phone since it was a nearby piece of metal (either intentionally to call Ralph or because the suit she was stuffed into was already taken). In the same vein, Ralph possesses the FNAF 1 phone to give us our calls. It would explain why he is present as a literal phone in UCN.

i think the other piece of evidence that cinches this theory for me is how ralph's relationship with the animatronics is described at the end (nights 5 and 6). if ralph leaves, they hunt him down. almost as if to say that he can never escape. which is a very common theme we see with some major spirits/characters in this franchise. plus, ralph knows (and notably feels bad for them) that the animatronics want to escape. this can very easily be read as the spirits within wanting to pass on. in this light, we can see their hunting ralph down as a form of jealousy (which i think he even mentions at some point)

It always stood out to me as weird that ralph always starts his VOICE RECORDED MESSAGES with "hello? Hello? Heeelloooo?" And sounding frustrated when doing so? Like dude, its a voice recording, theres nobody there, why are you saying hello, and moreso why are you getting frustrated when you dont get an answer, but him reaching out to the real world via the phone makes a lot of sense, either that or his crappy memory is eluding to... OH MY GOD HE'S THE BITE OF '87 VICTIM! He says "its amazing how the human body can survive without the frontal lobe" so even if he is dead that line still applies because he thinks hes alive! But maybe he isnt and he's just healing from a frontal lobe injury and losing his memories only able to remember that he loves fazbear's and thats why he sounds frustrated in the calls, he thinks hes calling someone, then he remembered its a recording

i never heard any frustration in that. sounds more like he's testing the mic/making sure it's recording. he doesn't say anything along the lines of "are you there" "can you hear me" etc. he starts the message with "hello, hello hello! I wanted to record a message for you..." and then the rest of the line u get it idk maybe take another listen to it. like he knows it's a recording he literally states that

I really like this theory! When I first heard that Ralph had memory issues I heard it theorized that it was more like a Help Wanted (the story about the game dev) or sound illusion disk or hallucinatory gas situation. But I think it makes more sense that it’s more like an Alone Together/ghost/FNAF world situation.

(Idk where my original comment went so I’m gonna restate what I said there) Your theory that Ralph’s story parallels the CC’s story reminded me of an idea I came up with. I also believe the CC is stuck in a memory loop, however I don’t think it’s FNAF WORLD. I believe we are Cassidy in FNAF World setting up the FNAF 3 minigames to help the CC remember their past. I believe the Crying Child is actually stuck in the FNAF 4 minigames. I came to this conclusion as it was the only way I could think of to explain the broken mangle, the tiny toy Chica, the Balloon Boy kid, and the other things that tied the FNAF 4 minigames (and the CC) to the FNAF 3 minigames. Those items weren’t there when these memories originally happened, but now that the CC is broken and his memories are stuck between the other MCI kids he’s seeing stuff from future locations. As I was thinking about it more I realized we can see the loop happen in game! During the last minigame (Night 6 cutscene) we see all the plushies fade into the darkness and eventually also the CC leaving us on a black screen. However something interesting I just realized is that the first minigame cutscene, that appears before the first in game night starts in a black void with our Fredbear plush!

I think the canon ending must be the browen light ending, not only because it allows us to get the night 4 call, but because if the animatronics kill Ralph in night 4, the should be escaping by night 6, contradicting what we see in fnaf 1, because the animatronics are in the place still by the time of that games.

The night 4 call can't be recorded until Ralph gets the bonus item. The book forces the player to get the item on night 6 and then replay the book with the bonus item in order to leave the message. I do agree that the Canon ending is most likely the one where we get the bonus item from Bronwen, but in order to leave the message, Ralph would have to leave it after he's already died making at least those 2 endings canon.

1:03 -Except that this may be a mislead. Since it is a choose your own adventure with different endings and conflicting information, I'm going to say some MAY be cannon but not all is. How is this the case? Well, its in world. Yeah. I think it is tied to the games in our world but in that this is a book by Fazbear in the game world about the games they made to revive Freddie's. In the FNAF world a version of the FNAF games were made to cover the true events and rebound from them. I believe all the Fazbear Frights books were compendiums made by Fazbear to do this, including 'Into the pit" which acts as a companion piece to the game of the same name. I think the recently released "into the pit game is a game within the game world and "the week before" is just a book also in the game world. It makes sense to muddle the r ality of what happened by marketing it as an urban legend with a plethora of slightly varying events to the real ones bing offered as well entertainment. One of the paths or pieces of multiples in the book could reveal actual info about the phone guy but I dont feel it's as strait forward as it all being cannon. They never do that in Freddy's and I think it's up to us to realize that while speculating what Fazbear is giving or lying to us about.

Well one of em was talking about dead birds Which I pressume is code for The missing children maybe Orville was a representation of Henry when he figured out William murdered kids because the story Mr. hippo remarks is him explaining that the birds are dead to Orville maybe this could be how Henry found out William's secret....

I like this interpretation, because otherwise the answer is that the inconsistences are due to poor writing. In other written FNAF material, the idea of writing errors due to miscommunication between the IP originator (Scott) and the actual author of the story makes some sense (people who write for established franchises are not necessarily actual fans of said series and so may not have a full understanding of all the complexities of that world/setting they are writing for), since the books are meant to sort of act as an "expanded universe" or "alternate continuity" from the games. But clearly, from the start, this project was always framed as directly tied to FNAF1 and not a "retelling" or alt-version; so the idea of there being poor writing errors as an explanation didn't sit well with me. I think Scott wants to allow for his writers to have a lot of creative freedom / wiggle room, but for something so closely associated with his own work (the first six games) that just didn't seem likely.

I have seen 1 theory that made the inconsistent writing just be an error sound compelling (Not saying it's right, just saying i did really like it). Ralph's forgetful memory makes him an untrustworthy narrator, which means most things that this book presents from his recollection can be retconned in an instant, which means theorising on any of it is useless until further, more stable evidence rises. Meanwhile, Ralph being stuck in an endless loop in purgatory means that, technically, nothing the character experiences is real and fake at the same time. Then again, Ralph could simply be forgetting how he really died, meaning the ending where he died after defeating the animatronics' evil scheme could simply be non-canon to the games as well, because Ralph "replayed" his actual death wrongly and didn't get to record the messages before Golden Freddy got to him.

I think that it’s worth mentioning the connection of living/dying in a loop and Golden Freddy. William Afton was the exact same way in UCN (although granted, he was killed by Henry’s fire), where GF was present in that loop of living and dying over and over again, whereas Ralph was directly killed by him. If we take the lore hints from the other books into account, the FazFrights story “The man in room 1280” has a similar premise, where the stand-in for UCN’s Vengeful Spirit has lost their memory, but still latches onto the titular man’s psyche for some reason, before learning the man was the one who killed them. If we were to apply that to The Week Before, it could be one of two things: either A) GF’s spirit (who we’ll call David) learns that Ralph knows about the animatronic’s plans to escape and death loops him to prevent that secret from getting out, or B) GF lost enough memory as a spirit to believe that (much like early FNAF theorists believed) Ralph is the one who killed the animatronics, not William Afton.

Hey I'd like your opinion on the plushies seen in fnaf 4 minigames inside the crying child room. Why is foxy headless? I always assumed that it was because Mike was wearing it somehow as a mask, but seeing as the other bullys have their own mask, i dont really think that can be the case, especially since people are connecting the help wanted 2 protag to the bully from a mask that we see is clearly plastic. If Scott wanted us to pay attention to the fact the toy chica toy seen in the game is missing its beak, then im sure theres some deeper meaning into the plush missing its head

I honestly haven't thought of the foxy plush in awhile. But you bring up a good point because I always assumed Mike made his mask from the plush as well. My original assumption was because foxy was the newest character he didn't have all the same merch the others do (he'd obviously have some like the plush but wouldn't yet get a mask for whatever reason) But after thinking about it for a bit, we know from fnaf world that the afterlife has an effect on the real world and vise versa, so what if CC just had a broken foxy for whatever reason, and somehow he is forcing foxy to always be broken. Similar to how all the toy animatronics have the same problems that the actual toys have. No idea why foxy is missing his head though or why the foxy animatronic isn't missing a head.

I'll admit, Im a bit lost by this theory. Is the golden freddy ending where you get the bonus phone meant to be how he canonically dies? feels a bit strange. wouldnt it make more sense and be less convoluted if the real ending was Phone Guy reliving the events that led to his death rather than him leaving post-mortal messages? The Golden Freddy ending where he gets the phone would be part of the loop, with Golden Freddy basically confronting Ralph and forcing him to acknowledge the continuity of his deaths by keeping an item from later in the game and bringing it to the start. Effectively clearing a mental block that's been preventing him from accurately retracing the steps of his final week.

I like how you delved into this weird inconsistency. There are a few things mentioned I find odd or disagree with: * You mentioned how Bronwen calls from beyond the dead. Good! But then you use her knowing Jeremy as evidence... okay, sure... but then Ralph brings up Susie. Well he's already dead right? Well maybe, maybe not. You can get this scene without the bonus item so it doesn't support your theory at all. It doesn't counter it exactly but my point is that you can get this scene before the needed death for the true end. This is unlike the "SAVETHEM" text which you ONLY get after having the bonus item. * You mention Copellia not being brought to Freddy's being contradicted in the book. The Unwithered Truth made a great video [The Week Before Solved FNAF 1's Timeline... And Everyone Missed It (Theory)] that points out that page 44 may be an error in its entirety (or an early draft). The main reason being how that page is accessed being contradicted later (via the ticket) I hope I didn't come out too harsh. I still like this idea in concept and the way you presented it.

I've seen that video, and really liked it; I also agree with the 1989 date (although the Disneyland tagline might be a counterpoint). In the case of this theory, which Perseid Labs also had (along with Ralph possibly being the Bite of '87 victim), I think it's plausible in the case of you having to play New Game + to get the FNaF 1 ending at all.

I Like this theory, how is this theory.. Security Breach is Michael Aftons after life, he is Freddy and Gregory. He has more than one POV. It's the only reason for HIS ROOM to exist in the Pizza palace building.. his room being there is un-realistic. Although the distence from this 'room' and to the pizza place is about the same distance as C.C. walking on the day he got bit.. it was right around the corner. I would love to measure that out to see if you have to leave his room go south. East. then north to get to the sinkhole. This building might have been built right on top of the ruins of the old pizza place from the mini-games, then that was remade into pizza simulator then RIGHT ON TOP of that the Pizza Plex.

My brain insists that if Ralph has to die stopping the animatronics in night 6, then there must be a week between Ralph and MC working the night shift 😅 but if I'm reading this right, the Bronwyn phone ending happens, MC starts the next week, and Ralph spiritually makes the calls as MC works? How does his night 4 death work then? Is the aftermath of that achieving his happiest day?

I have something that supports this Theory but it contains SPOILERS for those of you who didn't read it. So stop if you didn't because it can ruin everything. In return to the pit the game crashes in a similar manner when oswald is inside the arcade 8bit game after using the gold token. Also when using the gold token he gets a Bonus ending that helps and saves the MCI. So it could be similar with Ralph. When ralph gets the mobile phone he's able to help mike in the real world.
