Why should you run a lift pump on your Duramax?

I put a 6.5 lift pump on my 2003 LB7 a couple of years ago. Works great and cost about $25 off ebay plus a few dollars for the nipples and relay and wiring a little over 50 total.

Just get the delete bowl. Keep a fuel filter with you at all times. You can put that on if you have any problems

Usually we recommend the AirDog II-4G 165 for anything 2004.5-2016. If you have no plans of adding power then the AirDog II-4G would be a good choice as well.

I have a 2002 chevy 2500hd lb7 duramax. Im getting ready to order the injector kit from you guys. Will i have to do anything to the air dog lift pump that is in the kit. You were saying in the video that you have to cut something to get the fuel pressure down. thanks

yes, if your truck is using the stock size fuel injectors and injection pump you will likely have to cut the spring down in order to get the fuel pressure low enough for it to run correctly.

There is a bunch of stuff that you can do, from steering/suspension, drivetrain or powertrain... Just depends on what you want to achieve.

The Fleece lift pump is a good design, we prefer AirDog lift pumps as they have been extremely reliable for us as well as give an extra level of water separation and fuel filtration that will provide clean fuel to the fuel system.

I would recommend the Airdog II-4g 165 or the Airdog II-5G 165 for that application.

No, we haven't experienced 1/4 tank issues with any of the airdogs. We have this same set up on one of our personal trucks as well.

All duramax trucks don't have a lift pump until the new l5p trucks. So no your LMM does not have a factory lift pump

The 2020 trucks come from the factory with a lift pump, I would not really recommend to change it unless your are fully tuned with bigger injectors and turbo.

The AirDog uses the factory fuel pick up and the fuel return goes to the filler tube.

My friend just purchased a 165 for his lb7 because I have one on my LBZ. mine has an adjustable fuel pressure trim knob, would he be ok running a 165 if we turned the pressure knob down from the factory 7-10 to around 4-5?
