Who's thinking he's losing his credibility? In my opinion, Pastra's just having fun and being honest with the horror media he's talking about, which a lot of other horror creators cannot be because it's their brand to do something unique with the original horror media, effectively warping whatever they see into their own worldview (People like Phisnom and MatPat being prime examples of this). Pastra, on the other hand, keeps everything intact and commentates on it. Neither approach is bad, lazy, or dishonest, (usually, I mean occasionally some creators get it into their heads that they know better than the original creator like MatPat, but the fact that the other creators, like Phisnom and Pastra can keep themselves far away from falling prey to that mentality should prove to most people why they're as respected and followed as they are) it's just them doing their thing and contributing their own bit to the overall community. In my opinion, MatPat and Game Theory as a whole doesn't get enough flack and criticism for what they do compared to creators like Pastra, because with Pastra, they occasionally make mistakes on their own, but major organizations like Game Theory have entire teams organizing every single bit of a video, which in my opinion should hold them to higher scrutiny

Smile dog is perfect for the reason it’s arguably the most original story of its time. @DustD.Reaper6 ай бұрын
Smile Dog is a creepypasta I always loved and only grew to appriciate it more over the years for two reasons. The first is that, unlike most creepypastas, its not about some psycho killer, cryptid or haunted game but instead about a concept thats very real, an infohazard, a thing or topic which can put you in physical or mental harm once you learn about it. And the second reason are those three simple words at the end, "spread the word", it is such a simple line yet in the context of Smile Dog it holds so much power, almost like Smile Dog is a cognicent meme and knows it needs to spread in order to survive. Its basically like the community made Smile Dog "real" because we keep spreading the word which keeps it alive, and that is why I feel no creepypasta can top Smile Dog.

It not only plays on a normal part of the internet (spam mail, weird messages, etc.) but it’s inescapable and the only way to get it off of you is to endanger other people. I remember when I was younger, I got jumpscared by it while I was watching a video about a Vocaloid character making amusing comments about other vocaloids. At the exact end of the video, it had this red text at the end that said “I’m right behind you” and then it showed the red, less-dog like image of smile.jpg with a loud scream. But the thing is, she was a sweetheart to me, but scared the shit out of my neighbors. She didn't bark or growl or run at people. She just stared at them with those pale, blue eyes and watched until they were away from the yard, and therefore away from me. btw her teeth were normal lol

the reason i love your creepypasta videos is because i was born at the wrong time for all of this and i was not on the internet when this was popular and its so hard to enjoy the classic eras of horror without someone saying to me "your too young to understand" or 'your not on of the original enjoyers of this kind of horror" meanwhile people also say those kinds of horror stories are dead so im so glad there's a youtuber that is still putting out videos and makes me experience stuff i never could efore

i love this i love how instead of knocking it off as a internet prank u scare the viewer with a image and talking in a mysterious tone

Hot take I prefer the Original Smile Dog Image that depicted a Husky with Human Teeth next to what is possibly one of its victims dying on the ground in a Grey tone and I find the current version at 0:42 a lot more Goofy not to mention the overuse of red makes it seem as if the image is trying to hard to get ylu attention kinda like a Cheap Jumpscare. Its disturbing yes, but the original has a creepy charm to it the new version lost.

The writer of the creepypasta confirmed that the original image is the deep-fried one, not the husky. The hand is in both, since it’s described in the story, it’s just harder to see in the deep-fried one. The story says that the hand is supposedly a representation of the devil. Technically, the deep-fried one is more accurate since the creator themselves says that “Smile Dog” isn’t an actual dog, a dog is just the closest thing it resembles.

the reason why Smile Dog has stayed around so long is simply: "a smile goes a long way"

Back then, I knew this one kid who had the Husky image as the background to his laptop and everyone freaked out thinking he was going to go crazy like the people in the creepypasta. He had it for 5 weeks and still was the same. Thanks to that I found out creepypastas weren't actually real.

i love seeing these creepypasta analyses and discussions since i didn't really grow up with reading creepypasta so i'm always being exposed to the story behind these creepy characters and photos for the first time.

Pastra analysing one of the few ACTUALLY GOOD creepypastas, I love it. In my most recent video talking about your community post, I talked about the concept and the execution of the story, which were both AMAZING, but I never really shared any details about the story.

I will honest, I have seen the thumnail and notification of this video being uploaded almost a week ago but couldn't bring myself to click out of absolute terror. The Smile Dog photo, either version, always gives me chills and makes me want to cry. I am very photo sensitive and most times it is horror imagery and not the horror stories that stick to my psyche. I am not being brave and watching the video, granted tabbed out, but I always enjoy listening to your videos.
