I wouldn't say H.8.Rz. However, I do think the PRICE POINT should have been Lower. IMO (You get 100 people in a Room, you get 100 different opinions) I think the Dragonfly should have been $200, that's $140-150 for the Fly, and $25 (should be $20) each for 2 Figures (Wild Bill and Airborne or Crazy Legs). They still could have tiers if they added the Characters and then said if each Character makes the Production Number Goal, a $25 charge will be added to your DragonFly. No Cancelling. Other than that, I think it's a Better Deal than the HISS, which I thought was Way Overpriced.

1. None of those vehicles were truly to scale except for the sail barge. So can you imagine how large they would be if they were properly scaled! 2. Which I understand from a Competitive Business point of view...they will find fault with their competitors. And there's some Bad Blood between Vala and Hasbro...he used to be a Former Brand team executive at Hasbro...but he left as a Disgruntled employee! I believe Retro blasting is also friends with those 3! So he looks for ways to "Expose" Hasbro! I have NO 🐶 dog in this fight! If I want Mattel products...I buy 'em! Just the examples of big vehicles going to such steep discount years ago should be the first indication to people why things like this don’t get the retail support anymore. For this specific project maybe I’m a bit biased because I’m a GI Joe guy, but I feel like the value is there. Even with just the one figure, I look at this I see the value and I didn’t hesitate on backing it.

Rancor failed and many collectors on the fence about the skystriker had the funds to back it since the rancor never charged their payment. It was a bad time of too many crowdfunds and they could not all make it

I'll just say that both RAM cycles were Target exclusives and eventually online stores get stock for those. But i feel like having smaller vehicles on Pulse only could work out for them as long as they have plenty of stock for a good few months, if they are scared that they won't sell on regular retail stores. Water Mocassin (hasbro already did a retail Fortnite 6 inch scale boat) and the FANG copter are good examples of smaller vehicles that could be made. Serpentor didn't upset me at that price it was pretty solid and that Air Chariot is rarher big so i think that was solid but to compare the air chariot with the haslab is crazy. A complaint I see is that having characters rather than troop builders is a turn off for some people. I say invest in many Dragonflys and sell those extra characters you get to those who may have not been able to back the project or missed out on it. Give back to the community. I would certainly send my extras to my good friend in Germany. In the end we're getting Grunt and we'll have green shirts to put into these helicopters. And a lot of people will more than likely sit other Joes in them. A well thought out video and I agree with a lot of your views. Here's hoping it gets fully funded(tiers) and I'm still deciding on backing a second. Let's get them tiers/characters!

I think this is a great HasLab. The price seems fair for what you are getting and they’ll never have a 3ft GI Joe Helicopter at retail. The Dragonfly is my favorite GI Joe vehicle, but I cant justify a Joe toy that big in my household. As much as Id love one, Im skipping this. Really looks awesome tho!

Ok Serpentor for $79.99 was a very fair and good price. That figure alone with no air chariot is a deluxe figure with all those accessories. A minimum $34.99 just for the figure. So, no way that figure with air chariot would be $60! When Serpentor was about to drop people were speculating he was gonna 100-200 bucks ! We get him for $79.99 , now people say he should have been $60.00 ? Can’t please anyone. The dragonfly with four possible figures , a $100 value right there alone, with the blast effects and lighting and stand , all for $275 ? This a fair deal. I backed one and might back another later on. The people that complain about the dragon fly now will be the ones two years from now looking to buy one for scalper prices at $500

I get trying to look at all sides but RB, Articulated Ninja, Analog Toys all work for Valaverse. How is their opinion relevant or unbiased when they work for another company a rival of Hasbro and GIJOE? Their opinions are not valid articulated ninja, and analogue toys were working in the booth at joe fest selling Valaverse toys. They all make videos saying Valaverse is better and saying disparaging things about Hasbro and GIJOE. It’s seems obvious that they have chosen a side which destroys all credibility to critique any toy company. Not to mention how classless it is think of any Hasbro livestream, do they mention any other company? No. Does Hasbro take shots at any other company? No. If the price is too expensive then don’t buy it. I think Mafex is too expensive I don’t buy their products. It’s a very simple solution, but what you can afford. Very few people can by a Lamborghini when is the last time you saw a KZbinr saying that they are overpriced and that they should lower the price so “everybody could get them.” It’s just absurd.

Personally I wouldn’t mind a custom parts pack as a unlock. Canopy, maybe a more modern nose and a stretcher or something else to lift. My regret on the tank is cancelling the 2nd one I ordered but things came up so I had to do it. I think we might get a Vamp or Fire bat as a main release down the road they might not be 50 dollar ones but maybe 75-100ish range. Maybe battle damage panels.

Haslab started because the black series first order tie fighter failed at retail, and followed by the snowspeeder.. Ppl did not want to pay full retail and rather wait for clearance. And that turned off retailers not willing to take on big ticket items anymore. So it is not 100% hasbro's fault. We the consumers must share the blame because we are want stuff good and cheap, which is not realistic. So ppl can complain all about Haslab.. Because we created it.

While I love GI Joe, Marvel and Star Wars, I am mainly a Transformers collector. First off I would not have the room for all these big ticket items, and on top of that the huge expense on my wallet. I have backed only 4 HasLabs so far. 2 Unicron’s, 1 Galactus (standing with Unicron), multiple Victory Saber’s and Multiple Deathsaurus’. I think the GI Joe and Star Wars big ticket HasLabs are great and I am happy they are being offered to those interested and able to afford them. I am waiting for the fall and the next Transformers HasLab. Picked up 2 Omega Sentinel Guardian Robot’s, and preordered 2 Nemesis and the MP Raiden figures. That is enough for my wallet for 2023.

A couple of streamers complained that a reason they hated the unveil of the Dragonfly was because they wanted and expected a ground vehicle to rival the Hiss Tank. Mobat, Mauler, Snowcat, or a Vamp. If those same people/streamers took a minute to research it, they would see that modern (and when I say Modern, you could categorize that from Vietnam era till present, and that is being very liberal) militaries use aircraft in a large part as CAS (Close Air Support) and anti-armor support to ground forces. And we all remember the majority of GI Joe vehicles for the first few years of the O-ring line (82-85) were based on actual vehicles (Dragonfly: AH1 Cobra; Skystriker: F14 Tomcat; Cobra Rattler: A10 Wardhog/Thunderbolt). Personally I think it looks great, and is more a dream/wish project than the other 4 candidates people voiced they wanted.

Great way to show people why has does the crowd funding. Retailers and Hasbro must have take some losses in the past. It makes sense why they do it. I didn’t buy the hiss tank because it’s going to come with 4 of the same figures then a retro card back cobra commander that should not be part of a limited crowd fund. Also, the hiss tank had weak tiers that should have been already available for the the price of $350. And then no support vehicles. I’m supporting this dragonfly because it’s less money and it comes with all the tires the hiss tank should have come with. I still say the appropriate price is $200-225. I honestly don’t care about the additional figures. Vehicles like the tank and this dragonfly should come with support vehicles/ accessories. Gi joe historically has had small sets and vehicles that can be sold at retail. They should get away from incorporating figures into small vehicles and sets. Makes army buildings easier. My opinion of course…

Of course it comes down to price with the haters. "Take away this, take away that, make it available at retail" yeah sure, in this case if all want is the shell of the helicopter, moving rotors and an opening cockpit, stickers that you apply, you can sell it for $80, sans Wild Bill. For some that would be enough. And in the future we might see Hasbro offer the Dragonfly exactly like that, stripped to a bare minimum, and the HISS, but the thing is the molds would already exist thanks to the HasLab. If the HasLab for these didn't exist the price would be in the $120s or higher. And would be Pulse exclusive.

Everything Hasbro does is crowd funded..........that's how business used to work........profits from one project should fund the next project. If they are worried about them sitting on the shelves at Walmart......make it online order only. I'm not throwing hate, but why does a corporation that has been around for decades need to rely on their customers to kickstart projects for them? I would love this to be cheaper of course but I think the price is fair especially if we can get a couple of tiers with this. Mike by no definition of the word(s) or economic measure is the economy is in a recession or a depression. This project would definitely not be released under such conditions as Hasbro would not risk the loss financially.

The unlock being Glenda (scarlet repaint), a rare Argentinian figure, prob should have been a bonus tier cause there isn’t a big fan base for that character. Nightforce crazy legs would be cool

Overall, I think this is a reasonably priced HasLab. On another note, as a politico-economist, I don't believe a rescission, if it comes, will be anywhere as bad as the 2008 recession caused by the banking crisis.

Great video as always Mike. I was able to order one dragonfly as well as getting one hiss tank. So far I've been happy with what Haslab has put out. Minus the Skystriker. I want a deluxe Whale Hovercraft for the 3 3/4" Joe figures. That's my ideal dream. As for Haslab, my only regrets were not getting The Khetanna or Unicron. But funds were tight back then for me. In any case you infectious enthusiasm in your videos is always a fun experience. It fuels my fandom. It makes me more excited about whats to come. Keep up the great work and vids.

My main issue with this one is that it's most likely going to be the helicopter and 2 figures for $275. The figures are worth $25 each so that helicopter is $225. That's a big ask with the recent Hasbro quality. This isn't a Hot Toys or Three Zero product, it's still Hasbro making this like they make all of the other mainline toys in terms of build quality. For the smaller vehicles like the Ram cycle and Serpentor's chariot the quality of the plastic isn't as an issue and can be overlooked at the lower price points.

HISS tank did 26k. I am sure this will hit all tiers once it gets to the last days and people start hitting that "FOMO" stage. Also many wait to see how it's going first or planning their budget first. So I feel this helicopter will be $175. Not too bad.

I wish I backed the HISS. It was my first major GIJOE vehicle when I was a kid. I loved the HISS tank driver; he sort of reminded me of Ultraman. Since I didn't back it, I will be forced to deal with after-market and I don't have 500+ dollars to throw down. So, I will have to do without. So, I wanted to make sure I backed this one. I acquired Wild Bill from a school-yard trade back in the 1980s, so I never had the actual Dragonfly. For my 13th B-day, I was gifted the Tomahawk; so in the end I at least had a co-pilot with Lift Ticket ;). The more tiers that are unlocked, the more value the Haslab has. We have seen what Tier 2 is and everyone and their dog is trying to 2nd guess what Tier 3 will be. What I don't understand is why the need for secrecy? How is the nagging desire to see what's behind door number 3 going to propel sales further than telling people what they're going to get? I used to work for Blackberry and they used to have achievement goals on hours worked. If you managed to squeeze in "X" amount of hours over 40, you could get pre-paid Visa Cards, Xboxes and even Blackberry devices. The top goal was a 40 inch plasma TV. Knowing what you COULD get, helped people plan what they could actually do to win. If they had said..."well, if you work more than 40 hours...uh, you get something. You'll just have to exhaust yourself and work so much overtime to find out what those prizes are." That wouldn't have worked. That said, the slow crawl to 16K is a bit tiresome. I don't know why they just don't go ahead and tell us what Tier 3 is. They'd get MORE backers than waiting all the way to the last couple of days, when we finally reach 16K, to allow only however many backers you can get in a few days time.

Hasbro is getting left behind in the toy line market for boys and Disney is (has) taken over. Remember when Hasbro lead the market... I am so sad for the kids today... what's for Christmas, dad? .. Feels like the Haslab Transformers/GI JOE sweet spot in numbers of backers is between 26 and 27k backers. Now I think people shouldn't be alarmed yet due to the lack of backers because HASLAB has just been opened to all of the EU a day or 2 ago... Before that EU customers had to go to their online retailers for HASLAB backing. But the day is short, and in my country salary pay is between the 22-26 of the month.. And it is the vacation period. So people will back it but I'd suggest HASLAB to add a week or 2 for the word to get out and people would still jump in. It is only 2 days now. And yes, HASLAB EU was only available for Spain,France,Germany,Austria and Italy up till a few days. This will make a huge difference now because almost all EU customers are online customers.Brick&mortar for Hasbro TF and GI JOE is almost non-existant.

So, i agree that this is a decent choice. It looks cool, has a lot of bells and whistles, and is a classic G.I.Joe vehicle. If i had the money, I'd probably fund it. Now, I'm just not super happy with the price. You do get a lot for the 275, but lets break it down a bit. Automatically think that 100 dollars right off go to the figures, because i feel this will get 100% funded and all the figures will be released. We're still looking at 175 for the Dragonfly. Not bad. Honestly, i think you could do this at a mass production scale at retail around this price, just Wild Bill and the whistles.

Was thinking about getting one Dragonfly. Funded the HiSS Tank with 2 but I'm seriously dissatisfied with Hasbro's handling of the line. This latest fiasco with the Eels being limited exclusive just proves to me that they don't care about their customers. The decisions they make for what figures should be exclusives still don't make sense.

For me, it's just rather impractical in a number of ways. I can see where some photographers would welcome the challenge of rigging it up for posing but, IMO it's more of a pain in the ass than it's worth for a few pictures and then it'll just sit around. Let's be honest. It's neat. It's pretty. The rocket effects are really neat. But is it going to be the focus of all my play days from here on out? No. And, yes, it comes with a stand but, what does that lift it up off the ground by? A foot? Maybe? Probably gonna need to figure some way of rigging it up higher than that. Its a great display stand but, for this price point I want more than something to simply display and take a few pictures of. Especially if its gonna take up that much shelf space. They take up a lot of space and still only hold one or two figures. I only have so much space for my collecting. I didn't back the sentinel or galactus haslabs specifically because they were just too big (the price point helped turn me away, too, but it was mainly their size). And what if the damn thing gets dropped during photo sessions or flying it around or whatever? Those blades, the landing gear, the fins, the wings, all of those will snap off if it gets dropped or falls off its perch. Man, that shit would piss me off to no end. And, as a personal point, I'm not a fan of big flying vehicles that aren't meant to be playsets and interact with multiple figures. I don't mind the small, one-man flying vehicles. Def getting a bunch of those bubbles. But I was really hoping for a ground vehicle again.

While I am not a GI Joe collector, the fact that a company is wanting me to commit $500AUD on a pre order in June and July is the same as asking me to commit the same amount of money in November, December and January, if this was a 50% deposit I would be more accepting though any deposit over $100AUD is excessive within those months. My reasoning for this is other than the expected holiday season and the End of Financial Year sales, many pre orders need their payments to be fulfilled in where many of us are very light on funds (even if we budgeted) in those months. I cannot hate too much about the vehicle, for it does scale with your figures, would be nice as a bonus if they made a 1:35 scale to match with many of the land military model kits.

Retail doesnt carry toys for most part, Might be lucky to get a case or 2 of each assortment at each location. You will see waves drop that never hit areas due to previous waves sitting on shelves. My Walmart a month ago finally got the Spirit, Stormshadow wave a month ago the only ones that sold was Cobra officers rest at peg warmers there, dont expect more to show until those sell. THe Haslab should have waitied until end of month to launch run until Mid Aug like last year and the Hiss Tank would have been closer to release or starting to ship when this one ends. Im not getting it not because of price or anything else just gave up on line. Going on 5 years of line and still missing so many must haves just threw up hands and started to collect 2000-2018 3.75 era

I don't hate this at all. After the Glenda reveal - really liked that - I could conceive actually buying this. Or the HISS Tank for that matter: both look great, and the figure offering is good/excellent. But, I can't, and won't ever be buying these, because HasLab is a fundamentally cynical, exploitative and unnecessarily punitive way to screw collectors, whether that be Star Wars, Marvel Legends, GIJC, Transformers or any of the other mega-brands they farm. People can, and do (always in subjective, super-defensive and painfully naive ways) justify the price and the route of product delivery, because the thinking is: ''I like this HasLab character/vehicle/cosplay accessory so much, I am willing to pay double, triple or more than mass retail price, because Hasbro tells me to." It's not hating to point out that Hasbro doesn't need to do this with ANY of their licenses. They choose to use the HasLab route because P. T. Barnum was right. And those of us who've been collecting multiple lines for decades, rather than months, will remember the mega, mega sized super-deluxe 3.75" scale SW Millenium Falcon, AT-AT and, even more recently, the 6" scale Black Series First Order TIE Fighter? How was it possible that these items - shelf, and mortgage, breaking items, specifically targetted at the top tier of collectors, where money overrides common sense - could be released to the mass market, but it is now utterly inconceivable that items like that couldn't be done outside of HasLab in 2023? You either know the answer, or you don't. So, for me, no matter what HasLab knocks out, and no matter how good it is, I'm not playing. If you're lucky/rich/thoughtless enough to be able to afford these, and/or you like the endless social media wars around every single project (HasLab, as a concept, has been the most divisive thing Hasbro has ever done to collectors) all power to you. For me, I'm happy to look at some projects - Galactus, Sentinel, HISS Tank, Dragonfly, StarSabre - and admire them, but I'm never going to be buying them.

The fact of the matter is, those vehicles DIDN’T succeed at retail. Listen to what the videos says again: every vehicle it mentioned ended up in clearance with their prices cut to a third or less of MSRP, and not just one or two, but most of them. That’s not what a success looks like. But even if vehicles did sell, would anybody even be able to find them? Walmart and Target don’t even stock figures half the time; do you think vehicles would be any easier? Of course, even if stores did stock them, scalpers would buy them all up before any collectors got to them. That’s definitely one plus of HasLab: it prevents scalpers. Everyone who wants one can get one, and as many as they want (well, up to 5). If someone wants these products, the only thing stopping them is themselves.

The problem I have with all of the Haslab stuff so far, and I've purchased a few, is the build quality. Hasbro is charging premium collectible prices but still building their projects to mainline standards. Same cheap plastic, same lack of paint, usually with visibly hollow parts and shortcuts taken to reduce the number of molds. The Jabba Sail Barge & Unicron get a bit of a pass because those toys were so incredibly massive, but with this smaller stuff IMO the price is too high for the materials that Hasbro uses. Don't get me wrong, this Dragonfly look amazing, but IMO it looks more like $220 worth of amazing and not $275. $50 makes a difference and when Victory Saber was up for order it too looked amazing in the campaign images and videos but when I got mine it hand it definitely didn't feel like a $180 it felt like a $130 toy and when that happens it can't help but reducing your enjoyment of your purchase. Maybe if Hasbro didn't bake the cost of the reward tiers into the initial price it might feel different. If it has two fewer potential figure unlocks and the price was $40 less as a result that might have swayed me, but as it is I know what kind of quality Hasbro delivers and their pricing for these Haslab are just too high ESPECIALLY since Hasbro is mitigating almost all of their financial risk by taking payment before production begins.

Exactly! As a brazilian collector I'm out of the shipping range of it, so, I can't get one of these (Hiss or Dragonfly) unless I pay with my soul for a second market one, wich is not likely too. In the major online site we have here, I only saw one skystriker being sold and it would cust so much that was way out of range for a toy. That's my main complaint about haslab and it is frutrating to know that my collection has a minimum chance to be completed! I'm not a completionist, but, all that and the fact that dragonfly and hiss (or their equivalents here in Brazil back at the days) were the two first vehicles that I got as a child and made me an adult collector today makes it even more frustrating!! I'd like to at least have the option to buy or pass... wich I don't with haslab!!!
