My only major complaint is that they really should’ve just called this Season 2 part 1 and finish with part 2. If you see it like that, then the cliffhanger isn’t as jarring. Otherwise I do see why people have an issue with how Season 2 ended.

The reason why Gi-hun doesn’t simply use his own money he have won from the first season to bribe or sway the others into leaving the games for season 2 is that it would only be a temporary solution considering that many of the contestants for season 2 has deeper pool of debt. Once that money is gone, those contestants would just be back at square one partaking the deadly games like before. As for Gi-Hun’s decision to sacrifice the X contestants, I believe it was intentional to show his flaw that being his hero syndrome despite having good intentions on paper

You say Thanos was representing his own life yet smoking weed was considered the worst thing ever and in Season 2 he is popping pills which in my personal opinion is way worse than weed?!?

I love how they renewed the themes of Capitalism as the greater evil, while shifting into how coerced voting is a false idea of democracy. Almost everything inside the compound aside from the games is about how the different sides get people to vote for them so they can get what they view as the right outcome. Some found pressing a button boring...I say don't watch a survival drama then. There were so many fantastic moments of wondering what part of a person motivates the decision about if their life is worth more than the money they get that exact moment. One of the few I knew 100% would never flip was the guy 10 billion in debt, he'd only ever allow 3 others survive.

I think I’m in the minority, but I’m calling it now - It really feels like they’re setting Gi-Hun up to be the new Front Man. In-Ho is not only trying to understand Gi-Hun’s motives, but also trying to show the games have purpose, and many people want to play them knowing they’re likely to die. My prediction is that the finale will have Jun-Ho confronting In-Ho, and being forced to kill him thinking it’s the only way to end the games, but Gi-Hun will believe the games have to go on for the betterment of society as a whole, and then kill Jun-Ho to prevent him returning to the authorities. Gi-Hun will then reform the games to be slightly more humane, revealing up-front to the players that they will die, or can win life-changing money. I’m guessing No-Eul becomes the new Salesman, and the organ donation side will become official, and a potential way to fund the games without the “need” for the VIPs gambling. I also suspect we’ll at some point get a flashback to In-Ho’s games, where we’ll see he tried to do very similar actions to Gi-Hun, showing the parallels between the two characters

W take. I have no idea why they didn’t at least give us 9 episodes but wat we did get was awesome. Episode 1 is my favourite and episode 7 my second favourite. I think the only reason people don’t like the season is cos they feel cheated out of an ending and like they are prolonging the story or something. But I can’t actually think of a better continuation of season 1’s themes and message. And no one has suggested a better concept for a season 2 and just complain about it being a part 1 or saying it’s just a cash grab.
