The one who gets affected the most is Aspinall. Not only he isn’t given the opportunity to fight Jones, but at this point he also has no competition besides Pavlovich (who he defeated easily) and Blaydes. So no matter what he does, he will not be able to achieve much fame and status. Jon Jones could have saved the division but decided to duck a challenge and not have something memorable happening. But at this point MMA is mostly about smaller divisions as this is a more technical high paced sport where fans want to see variety instead of big guys throwing haymakers against each other

As far as he can be believed, Uncle Chael pointed out something potentially terrible for Tom, that being that as soon as Jones steps into the cage against Stipe, it would mean the legally official return of the undisputed champ, rendering the interim title mute. If that is all correct, this means the following: 1. It's all over for Tom - like he didn't achieve anything, and now he has to try begging for a fight for the title again. 2. The UFC ignore that completely and pray that Jones (or Stipe, if he pulls it off, god forbid) retires right after this fight, allowing them to promote Tom to undispited. 3. Jones wins, wants to fight Alex next, UFC strips him by some miracle 4. Jones wins and wants to fight Alex, they try to force him out with bad negotiations 5. Jon Jones is unquestionably one of the most skilled fighters, nearly indisputably the most skilled, to ever step into the Octagon. His skills end there, though. His social skills are atrocious, he has no self control outside the octagon (and training), and his ability to manage what legacy he has left is questionable at best. A year ago, we all thought Jones was amazing, he went right through Gane and we were all wondering who he'd fight next. Now, he's a laughingstock. It's bizarre. He's got a really good chance of beating anyone in the heavyweight division. He could've taken the Aspinall fight 6 months ago, beaten Aspinall (I love Aspinall, but I'd bet on Jones in that one), THEN fight Miocic to sail off into the sunset and we all would've been satisfied. Instead, even after this Miocic fight, he's likely to walk away from the sport leaving a bad taste in our mouths. All of his horrible bullshit outside of the octagon made his legacy tarnished at best, but at least he could always claim to have taken on anyone worthy of a shot at his belt. He can't anymore.
