Jon had three years to bulk up to heavyweight, telling us the whole time this is the best version of himself and he’s more dangerous than ever. He fights one heavyweight and he immediately starts with this “ I’m too old for this” shit and it’s thinking about retirement. To be fair He does look old and slow, but that’s HIS fault for taking so many years off for PED suspensions and the 3 years of inconsistency. He openly admitted he would never fight Tom or Sergei Pav before they fought each other. Saying it “doesn’t make sense for his legacy” . This sport is brutal and no one’s legacy is worthy of being protected or receiving special treatment,, especially a multiple time cheater. You protect your legacy by TAKING FIGHTS AND PROVING YOUR BEST FIGHTER IN YOUR DIVISION . Jon doesn’t want to prove he’s the best in the division. He wants to fight a 40+ year-old man for an easy win and then vacate the belt and leave the division in limbo .(Jon was shaking his boots after that Tom Aspenal knockout over Pav and has been coming up with nonstop excuses ever since. )

@@jacobmeglich6699Jon Jones is also a cheater and a terrible human being with a stained legacy that he’s trying to recover but knows he can’t. He’s just doing what he wants and its wasting people’s time. We’re really debating whether the guy will even fight again or not. What GSP did is unheard of and legendary. He grew. He was a champion and had the mindset of a champion. You saw it in his fights. He would even say it himself that he would not try too many risky things in the octagon for a knockout. He would give a perfect performance and get ridiculed for it. GSP is a warrior at heart though and wanted to be the best warrior which is why he retired and said fighting isn’t the answer. While yes, you should test yourself at some points, his thing now is that training is everything. The ability to go to a gym and spar and learn is critical when done properly. When the perfect environment is set, thats when you do your best work. Not when the pressure is stacked against you in a risky sport like this where anything can happen. You really have to pick and choose. Current videos of him show that, while he has aged, his skill and athletic ability is still very much there. His technique has only gotten better with time. Now he can finesse and use skill while still maintaining his health, which is the most important and critical part to all this. His health is what’s important. Its his life. His day to day life isn’t fighting. His day to day life is doing what he loves (fighting/training), the people that surrounds him, who he loves, etc. GSP has done way more for the sport than Jones. Jones may have brought more attention, but for all the completely wrong reasons.

Hell, I don't even see Jones as champion tbh. I think the real people see Aspinall as champion anyways, that's why I could give a fuck less what Jon does. Dudes old, been in the sport forever, popped 20 drug tests, but never called his shots and always fought the next best contender. If he wants to cherry pick his last fight against a 41 y/o Stipe, who's seen by many as the HW Goat, then fuck it. Their both retiring afterwards anyways regardless so the belt Jon holds is meaningless anyways. That essentially makes the interim title Aspinall holds the real belt. As a fan, this makes no difference to me and I'm not going to stress out over it. It hasn't even been 4 months since Aspinall won the belt so it's not much different then other interim belt scenarios. If Jones vs Miocic isn't booked by July, then it will start affects Tom.

@@YourMommas Proves a lot. It immediately proves that Jon is the best heavyweight of all time. Beats the #1 contender in his first HW fight in Gane (Even Vegas had Gane as the favorite over Jones before it started), recovers from a potentially career ending injury while being 38 years old, then takes out the undisputed, all-time HW goat. Retires being the GOAT in LHW and HW, no debate there. Hardcore fans and people who've actually competed realize this. Doesn't matter if someone green as Aspinal or Pavlovich (who may I remind have beaten mostly cans) doesn't fight Jones after. Both of those guy's resumes are unimpressive. You're comment was just an admission you've never fought and have zero clue what goes into building a resume. The heavyweight division isn't effected the same way as the lighter ones with father time. Most heavyweights never relied on speed, they rely on power and durability. Those don't go away nearly as quickly for LHW + HW's. That's a fact.

People claiming the Stipe fight is better for Jon's legacy are just like Jon themselves; terrified of what Aspinall will undoubtedly do to him if they fight. How is 64 year old 220lbs 20 year ring rusted Stipe coming off a KO loss a better win for his resume than the guy with the fastest fight/win time in MMA history with among the best stats besides that from his finish ratio to his defense/strikes landed/taken per minute ratios? All seriousness here. Jones looking fat at HW is such a sad embarrassing look. I get injuries and stuff, but he had ALOT of time to put on weight and be a jacked HW, i get his skills are most important, but, its embarrassing looking, hes embarrassing looking. He's at the end of his career basically and hes wasting his HW career looking like a fat lard.
@madgavin75682 ай бұрын
Jones didn't even look that impressive in his HW debut to be honest, he looked heavy on his feet and slow as molasses. Gane did almost all the work Jones needed to get that quick win; lunging in from long range with no setup, allowing himself to get body-locked, pushed to the fence and taken down, and then leaving his neck out like he had no idea he could be possibly guillotined from that position. Jones did nothing special in that fight, Gane is a bottle-job fighter. If I were none the wiser I would have assumed it was a fixed fight.

As a subscriber for about a year now I've seen this channel grow a lot. But I also feel as though some of your most recent videos, particularly the ones after the Ngnannou and Fury fight, have gotten quite stale. It's my perception that even your general audience seems to reflect this as you haven't made as many views as your other most successful videos. The more recent videos you have mostly been talking about this or that controversy and it hasn't really struck me as fresh because many other boxing or MMA channels do this too. But I believe that you owe your success to the fact that you have very unique viewpoints about boxing and MMA and I really appreciate it when you can break down so clearly the matches, make predictions, or even talk in detail about something that nobody else knows. After all I'm a casual but I learned most of what I know about boxing and MMA because of you.

I mean are we really surprised at all with Jon? He’s old, trying to cling on to some semblance of bygone glory, and getting his pay for all those times he was compensated with a 12 pack of monster energy. The UFC is to blame. They completely fucked their heavyweight division, starting with how they treated Francis. And everything Francis asked for would’ve actually allowed the UFC to evolve their sport to the next level, but they decided they’d rather exploit their athletes instead. It’s a perfect fit, Jones is the king of easily exploited fighters, and the UFC loves him for it, and won’t make him fight Tom because it would break the UFC’s and Jon’s façade of him being “the baddest man on the planet” or whatever.

Y’all are all missing one thing: he could potentially face Aspinall after fighting Stipe. Remember, he only had 1 heavyweight fight. Which didn’t last 1 round. I know people love bashing Jones but look at it from the perspective I just gave you guys if you can.

What the ufc is doing to tom is diagraceful. It's also ironic that dana use to always go on about how, unlike boxing the UFC's best guys always fight the best. And yet he is pushing jon vs stipe, a fighter that hasn't won in 4 years as opposed to Tom, the literal interim champion. "We don't do gimmick fights" ok dana, sure Also giving sean chito who isn't even ranked 10 is another testament to this, also giving colby that title shot to a lesser extent. Nonetheless Dana has went back on his word and just goes to show it is growing similar to boxing where fights are made based on revenue rather than being based on who is actually the best

The answer is very simple and there’s really only 2 right answers to this. 1. Let Jon jones keep the belt but once he’s healed he automatically HAS to fight Tom aspinal as he IS the interm title holder. Or 2. Strip jones of the belt and give the vacant title fight to the 2 next big fighters who want it obviously 1 of them would be Tom. If that where the case jones would be able to have his fight with stipe sure why not? It just wouldn’t be a title fight.

Seeing as the likelihood of a Jones/Ngannou cross promotional match is unlikely, it HAS to be Aspinall. It's the only thing that makes sense from a sportsman stand point, AND from a business standpoint. Put up or shut up, Jon. Get to work, or get out of the sport.

The problem is, the UFC lets it happen. All they have to do is create a policy that takes the belt away from inactive fighters. If they want an active fighter, pick something like 6 months. They don't fight, for any reason, they lose the belt. Next guy is up. When that person is ready, they can be at the head of the line to try to get it back. I would love to see this with belts and rankings. You don't fight, down the rankings you go. That way the top of every division doesn't get stagnate with all the top fighter holding out for the 1 or 2 fighters they think would be a good stylistic matchup that will also advance their attempt at the belt.
