@@blazeit822 C Class or E Class would be the most reliable. Heck they are used as taxi cab in Germany and most European countries. Most of them were in the 500000km range when they flooded the market and still running like new. I had a CLK350 at 280000km and never had a problem since I got it at 70000km. Also had a 2007 E350 from 110000km to 240000km and only repair I needed to do was the radiator and it cost around $400 for a new one. Now a happy owner of a C300, currently at 190000km, only problem so far is the front passenger ABS sensor but it wasn’t the sensor itself, just some wiring and cost me $80 to fix and the common brown ground cable in one of the tail light which cost $40 to fix at an electrician. Maybe I got lucky with my vehicle I don’t know but I love my current car and hope it lasts for at least 400000km as I drive quite a bit everyday. All the previous Mercedes I sold were still on their stock suspension before I sold them. I think that’s incredible German engineering there. Mercedes V6 especially late M272 and M276 are extremely bulletproof, M276 might get some problem with its HPFP due to DI engine but it is only a $500 fix and the failure rate is not even that high

Not every one of them. But many, many. The w211 already was far better. Especially the face lift. BIG difference to the w210. So they should have done a much better job on the w210. It was the paint that was bad. Some new "environment friendly" crap. And some cheap steel from China. It has one tiny, tiny paint chip, but otherwise, one might think it just came out of the showroom. Well thank you for broad view of what to expect with these used Mercedes models . I come from a generation when someone who bought a Mercedes bought a magnificent motorcar. I believe the problem with Mercedes started when they started building cars outside of Germany and the reason for that has to to be what I call “the need for greed” . This means that MB simply wanted a bigger profit margin and their roadmap to this was to build their cars in, undeveloped or under developed countries which would be perfectly fine if MB cared enough about their workers there to TRAIN them properly and pay better wages. Rust on a MERCEDES was Never seen. Oil leaks coming from defective oil filter GASKETS ?! Give us ALL a break ! And it ain’t much better with BMW or Audi .... - in fact ; in many cases with those two brands, there are even worse issues than Mercedes ! So what did the beleaguered and formerly happy MB owner do when he realized he now owned a damn “ garage queen” ? He looked to the East and found Lexus . Actually Toyota was carefully watching the deterioration of MB loyalty and they stepped in with their line of cars which many of their proud owners say are “bullet proof” and who also say they will never own another MB .

First CLA I had died within 3 days after I bought it. Ended up with a 2018 CLA with unlimited mileage powertrain warranty with 20k miles on it in great condition. I do service A every 5k miles instead of 10k, and immediately replaced brakes, did brake flush, coolant flush, transmission service and then did the entire Service B at 33k mark just to be sure. While maintenance adds up, it diminishes your overall repair costs. Don’t get a mercedes unless you’re ready to put money into it. I’m at about 46k miles now on it and no issues so far and I obviously hope it stays that way. My previous car was my first car I bought myself in college, a 2014 chevy cruze. Took more money on a monthly basis (say3-4 months of repair costs) to keep that car operational than my mercedes maintenance over the past year. Bought that one used at 70k miles. Had it til 140K. Don’t buy used high mileage, ever. No matter the car. I didn’t want to buy used this time but ended up with one. Will be my last used vehicle just because you can’t trust what someone else put the car through or the car fax either.

I have a 2008 CLK 350 coupe. Bought 2 years old with 18k miles for $25k. It has been on the road for 14.5 years. Daily driver. To date it has been absolutely reliable. But I do maintain it. I have spent $24K in the 12.5 years I have owned it which for a mercedes I think is decent at $160 a month. I just started doing my own work and had I started sooner I would have probably saved $12K. Paint has held up well. Interior has held up well though I need to replace headliner now. Window regulator just went last week (I won't slam doors anymore). Only major repair needed over the years was intake manifold which was under warranty. Just hit 125K miles and know I got some major work ahead to keep it running. But as long as I do the work myself it won't be so bad and I love the car. I decided to keep it going because I don't like new Mercedes Benz cars. Or I should say, I don't like any that I can actually afford. And too much electronic and safety crap that can and does break. And I don't want turbo. I have owned 3 used Mercedes now and as I'm now retired, my present C class is likely to be a keeper as I've had a few things done to it over 3 years, it's been very well maintained in my ownership and doesn't get a lot of use as I have a bus pass now. I would recommend anyone buying a used Mercedes to seek out a independent specialist who is knowledgeable about the cars, with access to the Mercedes database and with a good reputation. They will be busy as owners, who tend to care for their cars, will come from far and wide. A good specialist can save you a lot of money as well as giving good advice, don't neglect regular servicing and replacing filters etc when advised and you should be able to run a premium car for little more than a run of the mill hatchback, providing that it's been cared for properly in the past, although it's always best to have a couple of thousand in hand when buying a used car as inevitably some work will be needed and used car warranties are almost a definition of minimalism.

That could happen tell 100,000 miles then will start to broke but if you do preventive maintenance then will stay way longer and most important please drive them everyday if you can it was built to drive not to stay home cus that might make it a terrible car Thank you for highlighting...one of the best ...

Its all due to capitalism & monetary gain. Companies across the board are not interested in making things that last or that are reliable. They’re ALL interested in making products that bring you back to the spot u bought it to buy it again & buy more in addition to it. The fact that a 20yr old Honda is more reliable lets you know this is fact. From cars, to headphones to a goddamn toenail clipper. All they’re thinking is “How can we squeeze EVERY PENNY possible out of this product🤔🧐”. & its bolstered by the materialistic society we live in. Everybody wants to become Rich af, Billionaires & Millionaires including the ppl who run these companies & the ones who are starting the new ones. Just look @ the woman who was an executive @ Nike running the SNKRS App & her son ran an underground hustle reselling sneaker business. It’s never enough, they just want more & more. Such a shame cuz it’s really unnecessary.

That silver MBZ with the flat tires is a W211 not a W210. The facelift W210 built from 2000-2002 has a rock solid drive train. Get your models right. The only engine problem in the E class series during that decade was with the M272 in some of the W211 facelift cars built in 2006 and 2007. Apart from that the W211 is good. My "daily driver" is a 2002 E320. We also use it for all long road trips. Great car, and no, it is not for sale.

Some advice from a 2008 W216 CL63 owner. The normally aspirated M156 6.2 liter V-8 has a known defect with the head bolts. Only a small percentage of cars have experienced problems, but the possibility is there. Mine has been fine after 80K miles, but I watch it. Also, active body control (ABC) systems need regular care and feeding. Regular fluid and filter changes will prevent premature wear of the pump and shocks. The best deal is a 2011+ W216 with the AMG 5.5 liter M157 turbo V-8 with the P30 performance package. They're approaching $30K, which is insane. First owners scared witless by going out of warranty.

@@ECPP I'm currently fixing up a W210 E430. There are junkyard solutions for everything except EIS/ESL/ECM issues which are prohibitively expensive from the dealer.
