See circumstances as "on your way and not in your way" really speaks to me and helped me understand one of my greatest weaknesses. Thanks!

A leader is one who can keep their eye on the ball, while being able to get people to agree and ideally like you enough to get the work done.

I always like to talk about "memorability" over "visibility". Often, you don't have a lot of time with the right people to make yourself visible. Instead, find ways to be memorable. People shouldn't see your face every day: they should remember you!

Accounting...which I truly thought would be a non-conflict skill, and easily by default influencial. Accounting is deeply, profoundly misunderstood.

Leading with confidence and care goes back to the concept of having that knowledge experience in the subject matter which one is attempting to lead on. Yes, it will be a lot more difficult to lead individuals that think differently, but with a little bit of patience and knowledge even those individuals can be lead, other than that it will a lot smoother to lead individuals who want to achieve and have the same goals. Having said that, thanks for that plating a seed example, plating a seed of the type of leader and nurturing the leading skills will determine wether your plant will grow, stay the same, and or start over again by planting a further seed. The goal here will be to create great leaders, disciples, that are leading the same as one’s leading skills. It is an interesting subject, when leading by example, however being oneself l is the best kind of leader that one can have and is ok to follow other leaders ways of leading, but as long as you can relate directly to those leading styles, right? Finally, knowing that one is the leader and or knowing whom the is the leader is, is half of the battle. Question is how do you let individuals understand, know that one is the leader? Curious to hear a presentation of the educational skills that one is lacking from the educational system! 😺🙋‍♀️🥰✨💎

Overall great advice and well delivered. The “but” is tips for being more visible, assertive at work don’t work for dudes in 2024. HR is weaponized and DEI grinds dissent, and questions, into dust. Speaking up is now man-splaining. My advice for the guys - disengage from woke corps, move to Florida, pick up a trade and buy a jet ski.
