Thank you for this! I tried to find out what Kamala's public transportation stances were but had a very hard time(still don't really know), this at least helps me understand the potential VP visions better.

Thanks for watching! It can be hard to find people's stances on things like this at a federal level. This is why local elections are so important! -Louis

In Boston, the South Station and the North Station were originally operated by two separate railroads, and thus did not technically connect. South Station was originally used by the New York, New Haven and Hartford and the New York Central, and opened in 1899, while the North Station was used by the Boston and Maine, and first opened in 1893 and replaced in 1928.

I was already hoping for Tim Walz before this due to his strong pro-union and pro-lgbt politics so the fact that he's also great on transit just makes me like him more! Really hoping that Harris goes for him. On the topic of local politics, here in Baltimore we had a totally insane primary election last May. There was essentially a concerted effort by a republican billionaire to throw money at a bunch of conservative "democracts" who would do his bidding, and a huge part of their campaign was being anti-bike lane. Fortunately for the city every single candidate he backed from city councilors to the mayor lost their primary (even the incumbents) and so now we have a majority of pro-bike and pro-transit politicians in city government. Unfortunately the state government is responsible for most of the transit funding in the region so it's still up to them for a lot of the bus/rail services; but for bike lanes and other pedestrian infrastructure I'm very hopeful for the future of the city.

Thanks for the comment! Very much hoping for Walz here too. Glad to hear about the local efforts in Baltimore as well! We'll have to try to make it there for a future episode! Thanks for watching 🙌

Canada is mostly paying for the Gordie Howe bridge and will be collecting the tolls for that reason. So Whitmer can’t really take the credit.

Looks like she has sort of bowed out of the VP "race" if you will anyway.... Hoping for Walz still! Thanks for watching. -Louis

Benefits and wages vary widely across PA. No wonder the rural legislators are balking. Leadership is needed to break this decades long logjam. Now there will be service cuts on top of zero capital expansion.

Walz would actually be a very poor choice. His transit pushes into light rail have been met by massive public backlash. One of his lines has gone massively over budget because of a bad environmental review. Another extension is being fought against by several of the city’s they are trying to go through. The light rail extension is being forced through by an unelected organization that promotes growth and that has a history of bullying cities that will not bend the knee to them.
