I honestly think that what Starlo did was worse than Ceroba, his reasoning for trying to kill Clover is far more selfish, self-centred and sudden then hers was, at least her goal was something she truely believed was for the best for Monster Kind and she had a few months and the extra motivation of Kanakos condition to devolve into that mental state, Starlo resorted to murder within a few minutes of a issue he caused that both Moray and later Ceroba told him could be solved by simply apologising.

Considering that the yellow soul likely wont have much significance in future projects like Deltarune, I think it’s completely fine to think of it as canon.

it unfortunately cannot be canon, because flowey exists when in undertale it's stated that alphys used determination from the *six* human souls to do the experiments which created flowey
