Good video, but few thoughts: 1. "I have nothing to show for all that time with video games" What do you have to show? And to who? And most importantly, why? If you made friendships with gaming, are you embarrassed about them? 2. "Return on investment" Gamning, for some, has helped people with logic thinking and memory. You learn while you entertained yourself. Would you learn faster? Absolutely, but dont dismiss small stuff 3. "Social skills" Gaming can help you. If you don't have great social skills, try making friends with co-op games. Only write, then voice chat and so on. That type will give you springboard to go out and do small talk with strangers. Personal experience. Video games are more waste of time the more ambitious your goals and values are.

Thank you for your thoughts. Well said. It’s just my understanding of the equation in terms of the value of gaming in perspective of having other goals, as you say. It’s certainly not as destructive a habit as some, and in moderation, it can be acceptable, but it is still not very productive or effective in the real world. Unless you’re a pro gamer, making real money.

I wasted my early life on binge-ing TV/gaming. When I hit 30, I realized that I had no social skills and was at an disadvantage compared to others my age. It HIT like a brick. I wish others didn't make the same mistake I did. Cheers!
