My brother all of Pakistan is ethnically diverse ? Besides, the issue has a Baloch hand on it as well: the Baloch waderas (tribal leaders like Sardar Khetran come to mind) elected by the Balochis themselves focus more on the federal government and their wealth than their own constituencies. Obviously not all Balochi leaders are like that, but the same can be said about the people of Balochistan: not all of them, I'd wager the majority, want secession. The BLA massacres people, civilians a lot of the time, like recently, for the crime of not being Baloch. Its fair to hold grievances with Islamabad and Pindi, I would say a good amount of Pakistan does that as well, but how does killing unarmed civilians liberate you from "Pakistani facism"? They bomb the port city of Gwadar too, as if disrupting Balochistan's trade is good for them ?

If I had to guess, he saw Pedro Sanchez, the Spanish president. Whom recently pulled this move successfully recently, and tried to imitate him. Thing id Pedro got away with it by calling elections when the left wing minors were battling amongst themselves to cause a surge in vote for his party because lefties were terrified of a VOX (far right) possible surge (which didn't happen, Vox's vote share actually went way down) and had no credible alternative. Plus by reducing the minor left's votes he managed to keep them in line better as they had less leverage and had to stop the infighting due to it. Plus, pro-independence vote collapsed due to the damage pro-independence parties caused. So Macron is instead a moderate right wing president, so coaxing the left to vote for him was always a harder ask. And his left wing parties are actually more unified than ever. So their coalition was a clear alternative, and he doesn't have any pro-independence voteshare to collapse. So his calculus completely backfired and now he's pulling back desperately before the left proves they can be credible as prime minister.
@guavaguy43972 ай бұрын
@@thespanishinquisition4078 that and Spain had no Melenchon which has discredited Macron because he vowed to stem the far right and left. Now that he is looking more likely to make a deal with the left, and the fact that the left has become resurgent his right wing voters will feel betrayed and will most likely go to the RN. But because Macron doesn’t want a melenchon pick that makes him an enemy of the left so future electoral cooperation is a no go. But the socialist don’t want to be seen as Melenchon groupies either so will most likely distance themselves in order to form a coalition, or they will stay with NUPES hoping to win the next election. With all this chaos between Macron’s party and the left this will play into RN’s victory big time.

If Balochistan separates its going to be just a smaller Afghanistan, a underdeveloped nation with tribal radical laws shunned by most of the world.
@xijinpig89822 ай бұрын
They have Gwadar and a coast, so there's that. Independent Balochistan will be both a sovereign and economic threat (due to Gwadar port) to Iran and a boon for landlocked Afghanistan. The whole INSTC might collapse since India no longer needs Iran and Azerbaijan to connect with Russia and can instead reach Central Asia through Balochistan and Afghanistan. It will however temporarily strengthen Pakistan, since the length of their international border would be much smaller, but its a double edged sword since this would also empower the Taliban and Pashtuns in Afghanistan.

@@xijinpig8982 I agree, but Gawadar is built and maintained by the help of China who wont be on good terms with Balochistan for a while (another attack killed 7 chinese workers a few months ago), in fact a good chunk of investment and development in general is due to china as well, While the fact also exists that Gawadar also hasent shown itself to be a major port when compared to its counterpart Karachi which maintains most of exports and imports in the nation, Iran would also not be very friendly to it, as it would also promote instability in Irans part of Baluchistan as well which has a similar secessionist ideologies. @@memeconsumer773 I think India will be an ally only in name, or very little at all, since they are separated by Sindh. But Russia and Afghanistan are going to milk tf out of this, both to get access to oceans, in the case of Russia, warm waters that lead to the Indian Ocean that don't freeze half the year. Edit: Also, any power on Earth is more than willing to replace China in the maintenance of Gwadar, and Balochistan would be desperate to get someone to come and maintain it. You might even see a Gulf state like the UAE entering the picture here, since the UAE has already intervened in affairs in Yemen, Somalia and Socotra.

@@xijinpig8982 India will likely be a day one ally, since it visibly shows its support for it, if Iran finds some common ground it can also be a influential ally, But the UAE wont be able to bring much support when compared to China, in fact such a possibility would be a huge and possibly lethal blow to its BRI project

Except it is EFFECTIVELY winning the election. They’re the biggest party so therefore they have the most power, even if it’s only slightly more than others, so effectively they won the election. In fact, in most parliamentary countries, being the biggest party, even slightly, provides great influence over the “head of government” such as the prime minister but sadly in France, the executive has far too much power and therefore being the biggest party in the National Assembly doesn’t mean much. The executive has constitutional rights to usurp and bypass democracy, which Macron has done on countless occasions, so a lot of France’s National Assembly aren’t really winning even if they had a far bigger margin unless they’re the party that’s also the Executive. Did a gold medalist not win the Gold Medal because they beat second place by only two seconds?

He asked the left for a workable candidate, they didn't provide one. He can appoint one from any party. But if the assemble doesn't like it they can quit the government. Since no group has as clear majority. The left is an alliance with many different opinions, they don't all agree with each other, making for shifting allegiances.
