I disagree with the other commenters here, I could absolutely see that happening! Honestly, I think taht might be where this whole plot is be going! Chrollo might be the only 4th way out, able to copy the plan of someone else, in which case I could absolutely see Hisoka and Kurapika hitching a ride with him chasing down Beyond, Ging, and Pariston on the dark continent. Afer all, Kurapika and Hisoka are both unwilling to let Chrollo live while they die, so if the spiders have a way off, the two of them will do anything to follow them.

There is already a precedent in the series for scaling power to human sacrifice, via Nanika's wishes (albeit backwards). Making a blimp carrying billions of zenni fly over and open up took 67 sacrifices. Illumi postulated that healing Gon - were it not for Nanika doing it for free - would cost tens of thousands of lives. And that feat was said to be a literal match to the amount of power that Gon had used to turn Pitou into strawberry jam. But that is STILL only a tenth of the amount of power the new king of Kakin, and successor to this "plan" would inherit. We're talking Post-Rose Meruem levels of nen power if the conversion factor is the same.

Based on chapter 382, making sure Kakin prospers is his goal. Nasubi: "Have you heard of the 'Trolley Problem'?" Halkenburg: "Are you saying our countrymen are on one track and my sibling princes are on the other?" Nasubi: "You think this is a binary choice? Heh, that's not like you. It proves you're not thinking straight. *What must survive is the COUNTRY! The people's lives ALWAYS comes first!* The question is who pulls the lever. You cannot be king without bearing the cross. You cannot change the country without being king." That scene is what made me really respect Nasubi. He's not just some fat royal partying and eating all the time (unlike one of his kids). But it does mean that if he's truly sacrificing not just 13 of his kids but even himself for the Seed Urn, he's also resolute enough- _terribly resolute_ -to sacrifice all those aboard the Black Whale if this theory is true.

The other theory is that the sacrifice of Princes in the Succession War won't be completed. The Phantom Troupe's original plan was to rob the Kakin royal family of their treasures- *which would include the Seed Urn* that started this whole Nen-powered battle royale. The Spiders have since prioritized killing Hisoka, but they keep looking for ways to get to Tier 1. Throw in other things happening on the Black Whale, like Morena and the Hei-Ly going on their rampage, and it makes one wonder what would happen if the Seed Urn was stolen, lost, damaged, destroyed, etc. Kurapika is also looking for a way out to save Prince Woble.

I have a theory in my head that the current HxH world is actually in a state similar to what Meruem wanted to bring about. Were a King of all organisms has allowed humans their own space to prevent them from facing the dangers of the dark continent. And humans being unaware are trying to open a can of worms that they have already been saved from.

I like this, bit I think it somewhat disregards some of HxH's themes. Meruem was never going to win/be king. Even before the Rose, humanity had the Ants in checkmate. The Rose was a weak nuclear weapon. The nations of the world decided to LET the hunter association try to deal with things in a manageable way so as to not cause chaos with an impending nuclear war/disaster. By fighting Netero, Meruem signed his own death warrent. There is somewhat of a theme that the whole of humanity becomes a malicious terrible force, even though the greatest among them, as individuals, are nowhere near reflective of that. You have powerhouse individuals like Netero, Chrollo, Ging, Pariston, Hisoka, and even Meruem himself, and almost everyone I mentioned was either riddled with negative traits or selfish to the core, with some it's both. But their "evils" as an individual are NOTHING compared to the evil that is HxH's world as a whole, and their powers are the same. None of them are surviving a nuclear blast. I imagine the Dark Continent is simply a macrocosm of the same.

Togashi should just pass the mantle to someone he trusts and monitor the process from afar. Togashi is much like Ging, infinite potential but gets bored quickly we need a way to keep the story going without him.

Let's not forget that Ging has now appeared. Though we don't kniw his motives, he's definetely setting up conditions for some type of nen to be used (he's considered 2nd in command even if it's in name only). Pariston is feeling new emotions, like hate, for the first time. Ging may just be the unpredictable power thatnruins everything Beyond worked for. He's also on thr ship, we just don't know where. So as much as this may be the plan, Ging knows something and is putting the chess pieces together.

Part of me wonders if Beyond's plan is to basically have the way off the ship, the succession stuff goes into full swing, and the zodiacs are basically left with either releasing/trusting him or dying. Personally, I think Beyond wants some or all of the zodiacs to be part of his expedition. Some of his choices don't seem to make sense otherwise (though ofc, could be additional revelations of something else). And forcing them into "die or join me" feels very on brand with what we know. Same ultimate fate could also apply to any of the other characters on the ship, too. Kurapika, Hisoka, Chrollo...

I feel like the sacrifice also depends on willingness as Nen has a lot to do with willpower. Gon's willingness to sacrifice his future is much more potent then sacrificing non willing indivivudals. No easy way to quantify this though or know if power of sacrifice is also reduced with time (though it probrably is lost over time, requireing more sacrifces iin order to make up for it). Personally, compared to the average fan, I have never really cared about the Dark Continent. Yes, the revelation of a much larger and more dangerous world was an interesting reveal and I will admit that the pre Succession War Dark Continent exposition chapters did a great job of showing the threat of the Dark Continent and provided intrigue, but I have always seen the Dark Continent as more of a detriment than a positive. It is easily the most ambitious arc I have ever encountered in a Shonen manga. It has, seemingly unrealistically put every major character on the same boat. I thought it was ridiculous that the Phantom Troupe.and Hisoka + Illumi ended up on it when they should have no stakes in this arc at all. To top it all off, this arc is set up to be the longest arc of the series, which seems like an impossible task to complete for any mangaka not named Oda, let alone Togashi. This is the most notorious author known for hiatuses and rushed endings in a manga taking on a super arc on the level of the Four Emperors Super Saga in One Piece. Togashi isn't built for something like this. This arc would in theory take up, when finished, almost half of the entire series.
