I'm in the middle on this. I look at Jayden Daniels, people can whine about having a better OC all they want, THAT dude is a franchise QB. No one thought WAS had a loaded offensive roster, he has one good WR, and a guy people thought was a retread HC. Caleb's not that yet. Caleb also has issues taking sacks, cannot find a consistent deep ball, and won't take chances at times. Having said that, Caleb has shown a LOT that's really good, from intermediate accuracy, to taking care of the ball to, at times, making tough throws with a bad Oline and weird coaching. Huge potential.

Jayden Daniels threw what should of been a game ending pick. DSmith drops the easiest pass of his life to seal the game for the Eagles. Washington gets another crack and won.JD Caleb Williams stats are close enough this year but Daniels is the savior. Think both can be great not anointing anyone anything 15 games into a career.

I was 50% out on poles when he traded fields because that meant to me that he didn't have a proper direction for the QB position (by not letting your QB sit for a year) or the team by believing we were a QB away from being good. But I was still on board because I thought he would correctly utilize his remaining resources to fix the offensive line.

Darnell hasn’t regressed though. And Kevin Byard has been one of the only good players in the secondary. He’s had to clean up a lot of bad angles and missed tackles from the LBs who’ve sucked. i agree though if your even thinking of firing poles which they probably aren’t cuz they’re so in love with their dumbass process he should be gone. Caleb amid all the chaos and dysfunction in the f.o and o line has more pass yds than Herbert more 100+ passer rtg games than Mahomes less INTs than Josh Allen and more yds a game than hurts. This past summer, I was on an island saying it was idiotic to keep Flus and make your big moves, signing an old WR and a below-average RB. Other GMs laugh at how bad Poles is. Nobody else gives up a top-35 pick for Claypool or a 2nd for 8 games of Sweat. The day after Poles traded for our starting C, Buf cut theirs. What does that tell you. . A day after the Sweat trade, WASH traded away a comparable DE for a late third. Poles is the dumbest GM in the NFL by margin but he presents himself "as if", so it confuses some.

Thank you, Shea, for being the first Chigago sports radio commenttators I've heard speak of a proper benefits and cost analysis of the Bears draft strategy. No one talks about cost (that is, what must be sacrificed in order to pursue a chosen course of action). Specifically the 2024 Round 1, pick #9. The cost of not trading out of #9 was huge for a talent-deprived team such as the Bears. Yes, Odunze looked good, but was he so much better? Your example of an alternative of Verse and McConkey was spot on. What's the difference between the best punter in the league and a mid-range one? Practically nothing. A punter needs to have a hall-of-fame career to justify a 4th round pick. Huge cost given up for that. And the Yalie on IR, and trading away further capital for Booker. Poles has zero vision and has demonstarted his complete lack of understanding of costs. Thanks for your insights.

"Sacks are a QB stat" I've always hated that talking point. A lot of the sacks this season are definitely on Williams, but there have been so many blown protections and blitz pickups that it's impossible to put them all on CW. On a side note, 4 out of the top 10 most sacked QBs in the league are leading their division (Stroud, Burrow, Mahomes, Darnold) and 2 more are in the playoff hunt (Daniels, Mayfield).

I am thee Bears fan. Now having said that; I want the Bears to draft at least 3 offensive linemen. If you draft 4 offensive linemen that would great but draft at least 3. Draft 2 defensive linemen. This leaves you 2 or 3 draft picks left depending on sticking with your current 8 draft picks for 2025. If you draft 4 offensive linemen get a running back like the guy at Penn State. If you trade back in the 1st round to get more draft picks ok. There are 2 very good offensive tackles that will go in the 1st round. The 2 best offensive tackles willl more likely be gone when the Bears pick. If they are gone trading back to get more picks maybe a better option. The Bears need to get bigger and stronger on their offensive and defensive lines and at running back. I will repeat. The Bears need to get significantly stronger on their offensive and defensive lines and at running back. In the NFC North your running backs have to be big strong and mean. Desmond Watson the defensive linemen from Florida would look good next to Dexter and/or Billings. He would be a powerful run stuffing machine like Vita Vie is with Tampa. Ryan Poles is a very good GM; therefore keep him. Bear down! Let's go!

Chris Morgan has been here the entire time too and yet his lines have gotten no better they they seem to be regressing at RT, Braxton is the same Braxton he was 3 years ago.
