Let's say you like any burger more than any pizza. If I offered to buy a burger for you but it turned out to be a pizza, would that be somewhat disappointing? The same thing is going on here. You have a higher expectation of how your voice sounds, because you can hear it better. That is why it is disappointing when you hear how others hear your voice. On the other hand, other people never get to hear your bone conducted voice, so they don't expect to hear better than what they are hearing. Thus, they do not mind.

I actually always thought that I was squeaky and was really self-conscious of it up until about 16 where I was told that I have a very deep voice and in some cases I sounded black. The reason why I heard my voice like this though was probably because I always despised my extremely squeaky voice before I hit puberty, which I hit pretty hard.
