Working on your mental health is step 0 to achieving anything in your life. I like to look at it as having destinations you want to reach (better focus, better body, more money), and all the "hacks", all the "tips" as trying to upgrade your existing Honda by improving its acceleration, and speed, etc. But by working on your mental health, you improve your entire being, you improve the vehicle you're in. By working on your mental health you go from your Honda to a Ferrari, over time. So many people ask, "will working on my mental health help me with ___", and that's the analogy I like to share in return. Every goal you can have is a destination. Now will changing your vehicle for a much better one, be more helpful than trying to upgrade parts of the existing one? You can answer that for yourself.

I've been working on my mental health as my main goal for years. But mental health will improve more if you do self improvement itself then trying to figure out what's wrong with you. Working on your mental health and therapy is a background work that is very important but it takes at least 3 years to heal when it's deeply rooted in your being. For me mental health is 95% good habits and self improvement mentality. You just have to say fuck it to your issues when they comeback to haunt you until you've healed.

Im realizing how much of my life ive lost to depression, so many wasted years suffering alone and now that ive gotten therapy and trying self improvement the more confusing it all becomes. I dont know exactly why i ended up like this, im doing better in a lot of areas but the other day out of no where i had an emotional breakdown. Instead of finishing work, and going to the gym as part of the routine ive been building i just felt compelled to go drink myself to sleep. Ive been depressed my entire life its like being happy at all is a foreign concept and being out of it is in alien territory for me. As a result i feel like i have a twin personality, one being the productive, successful, motivated me and the other one my self sabotaging shadow.

I strongly suggest you look into your family tree history and childhood experience. They were the first things my psychologist asked in my therapy sessions. Impactful events in family history often lead to some traumatised experiences that run through a family. For example, an abusive man in relationship is often a victim of child abuse in his original family coz the child learned to express emotion from his parent. This domestic violence will pass down generations until someone in the family tree has it enough, deciding to break from the cycle. This takes profound self-awareness, learning and self-improving, and is always very difficult. My parents, who one of them comes from broken family, took whole 10 years to figure out their marriage. They are still attending class in a non-profit NGO to improve themselves. I suggest you read ‘The Family-A Revolutionary Way of Self-Discovery’ by John Bradshaw if you want to know more.

How to have unlimited energy: 1. Skip all forms of false accomplishments (video games, porn, social media, etc) 2. Be greatful for even the little things you have (This will motivate you to take positive actions despite the ocean of excuses you might have to avoid the real work) 3. Eat Clean (Please, include healthy fats and protein in your diet. Eat 3 whole eggs, they provide the real estate for your hormones) 4. I’ve literally been planning on making a self development KZbin channel but thanks to this video I just realized how much I need to improve my mental health. This video could not have been said better. Eye opening for me for real. I had the textbook definition of a.bad childhood that poured into a lack of making connections with others as I got older. That left me alone and without love, a basic human need. I turned to substance abuse to self heal but like everyone knows, it’s a short term fix that brings long term problems. It made me a unreliable, undisciplined, and aimless in my ambitions. In turn I went job to job and got more and more out of shape. All this led to a feelings of hopelessness and self hatred and gave me plenty of time to ruminate constantly over my failures. I lacked money for therapy and I lacked any meaningful relationships. I had no one to confide in and thoughts of self deletion began to become more common, louder and most alarming, they became more reasonable sounding in my mind. They became logical and rational.. the thing that helped pull me out of that absolute darkness was realizing my aimlessness in life. I had no goal I was working towards and therefore no drive or motivation. A goal isn’t just something to obtain, it’s something you personal want to obtain so badly it drives you! It gives you happiness to think about and gets you to put in the work daily to achieve it. It makes you less lazy which gives you more confidence upon reflection on your achievements, which leads to more outgoing habits and better interactions with others. Mediation and being grateful are good practices but it’s having a worthwhile goal to strive for that gives you purpose. Purpose provides direction and leads to a lifestyle filled with habits that produce better results in life, one such result being better mental health.. Thanks!

Perfect timing mashallah. I don’t understand how. I don’t watch these videos anymore because I feel I don’t need most of them but I always randomly get a noti regarding a video that I actually do need in a specific moment, it’s always perfect timing.

This channel is gold. I've just recently found this channel and you had me in tears man. Especially, about family issues, I realized how ungrateful I was to my father. He is also Pakistani and he brought us in the middle east. His life in Pakistan was great until he had us. This hit me in the feels man. I wish to make my father proud someday. I want him to feel like all of his sacrfices were not wasted after having us. Thanks bro. I love your content even after just watching few of your videos. P.S. F**k the pomodoro technique

Bro, when you said that with the love letter it really made me think about my mother differently, she wasn't the most kind for all of the time, but I'm really grateful for her This really made me cry, thank you, Hamza

I'm 14, I go to the gym early now cause it's summer. I journal. I try to hangout with friends. I try to find stuff to do but they can't come over. I can't do anything. I focus the diet and hydration. I focus my skills. I went on a run. But I can't find anything else to do with 8 hours left in the day. I don't have a job yet. I can't buy anything. I stretch. I do additional stuff like abs pushups pullups. I don't have any books that will strengthen my self improvement. I just listen to music and look at the wall. I'm always waiting for my friends to answer my texts. I do all my school work so I don't have anything to do. The one thing I can think about right is riding a bike. I went to the woods but there was nothing to do since I was by myself and I wasn't trying to accomplish anything. I need some ideas to do during the rest of my day.

You can start meditation. You are doing great by doing all this stuff when you're still very young. You can try cooking, plumbing, electrical, or programming. You can even start a business.
@dantesobrero87022 жыл бұрын
Learn to cook, that's one of the most fundamental abilities in life. You could also try some form of art; music, drawing, writing poems or short stories, painting or folding origami. Making any kind of artistic activity is a way of expressing your emotions and canalizing your mental energy that's different from every other thing. You don't have to be good at first, just do it and knowledge will come with time.

This comment and replies motivated me to manage my time more productively and do things that will benefit me instead of instant gratification. Thanks for the ideas and motivation. I’m trying to stop going on technology so much and putting things off I should be doing. I also have so much free time that I think oh I can just do it later, but I really should just not waste this precious time and do what I want to do at that moment. Then I will have more time for other productive things to do and learn, and eliminate procrastination. Going to keep working on this

I was thinking "Why didn't you just tell him the stuff instead of watching him read a letter" but writing a letter can really help. I heaven't done a gratitude letter, but I wrote down everything I needed to tell my parents at the time. Then you're sure that you can get everything said that you want. I knew that i'd get frustrated because they wouldn't be able to understand me and they would interfere with what I was saying. I did talk to them IRL and then I sent them the text after that. When they read the text that I wrote they are forced to take the whole thing in at once.

dude i literally do 100 pushups a day (with some rest day) since the first of june cause u told to give our respect back, and as a test you told to do 100 pushups, and till this day i keep it up, my arm and overall upper body got a lil bit better, but the best thing was having self respect to do it, im really skinny and this exercise got my confidence really high, thank you
@Masquerain62 жыл бұрын
100 push ups a day will hardly change your physique, you need to go gym
@NaomiSS_2 жыл бұрын
@@Masquerain6 true, but i dont do it for the physique, i do it like a challenge, but sure i will start the gym this month, and also bulking
