Lara’s 6 Principles 1) find your ‘why’- get to know yourself, your values, and the ‘why’ factor that keeps you grounded to them. Keep asking yourself why this is important to you and how it affects other aspects of your life until you get a strong chain of values that drive you. 2)Start somewhere, anywhere. We can overthink and over plan everything, but to think through every possible scenario is impossible. Specially focus on starting what scares you. 3) Consistency - it’s a sign of your commitment to promises, both to yourself and others. It’s what makes you trustable enough to be held accountable. Show up everyday, if you don’t, it’s either because you are overcommitted, your ‘why’ isn’t strong enough, or you are impatient 4) Patience. Every moment is irreplaceable. Don’t get caught in the everlasting loop of living in the past/ future. This way your present will become the future, your future will become the present, and you will miss out in living the ‘now’, and when you look back you will regret now living it fully. 5) Accountable for your decisions. It’s much easier to live with your choices than if someone else decides it for you, even if everything goes downhill. 6) Comparing yourself to others. Healthy comparison that motivates you to do more, instead of unhealthy comparison that makes you feel disabled to do anything good. Focus on riding on your own journey to reach your goals, but once in a while look around to see what other people who have achieved similar goals have done to get motivated/ know where to improve yourself or make necessary changes in your approach.

"It is easier to live with the decisions that we have made for ourselves than those others have made it for us, even if it goes all downhill." I wish I had taken the decision to study the subject that I loved to in my engineering. Instead I pursued what my parents suggested based on their observations of the society. I wish I held onto the girl that I liked rather than listening to my Church which was against inter - religious marriages. Probably my why wasn't strong enough. Probably, I am too scared to take the decisions. Probably I should have taken the leap of faith rather than wait for all the answers. I need to learn to take responsibility for the decisions that I have taken and not blame it on others. In it lies my Salvation.

Hey !!! I can relate to you so much. I regret not taking decisions, just because my parents do not approve of it.What if something goes wrong. I would get blamed. But the funny/sad thing is that I get blamed either ways, even when I am moving in my parents approved path and anything goes wrong. I just might have suffered in my own chosen path. It's just the inability to take responsibility for my own decisions. Perhaps we really are in true sense alone in this world, and never look to anyone even for mental support

I feel like the 'why' is still a motivation part to me, so it's a temporarily thing. The discipline that i taught myself is the reason i keep going. I used to sleep really late and always be late. I used never go to the gym and never read books. Now that i have taught myself more and more 'strict' rules about sleeping early etc, i get more things done than i used to do. A principle of mine - one that becomes more useful over time (for me): Building up, not down. Moving forward, not backward. If I'm ever unsure, angry in the heat of the moment, or thinking how I should go about something, anytime really, I try to come back to this principle. What could I do to build up, and how could I avoid moving backwards. An example of when to come to this principle could be: Having an argument with someone, but instead of picking them apart, focus on what they're doing well. If things are too heated to even think, you shouldn't be having such a discussion! Walk away for now. But if you can, focus on what (the somewhat negative thing they're doing) could be improved upon. Build them up. They're a great person, otherwise you wouldn't be spending time with. Life's already hard enough, we all would like those around us to build us up! Or getting home from work and not knowing how to spend the next 3 hours before bed. You could go to the gym, or you could watch TV. The gym is building up something, you and your life! With this said, I do believe in actively choosing to take time out to do very little. But there's a time and a place for that. I don't think I've given the best examples, but I'm sure you're (whoever's reading) is smart enough to find value in it, if you ruminate on the idea. You're trying to move forward in everything you do. I think sometimes we forget that (I know I do).

I do agree with you, there is no guide that will work for every single person, but I do understand the basics of every different kinds of people. I know your kind which is a whole lot smarter than the average people. People are different, but once you are aware of all the different kind of people, you can see where you fit, I really don't fit anywhere, but I don't really care, because I don't need to fit. I have my own road and my own path. It is different than the average people. That works fine with me, it does not matter much. But when I meet someone, I analyse who they are, I adapt to the type they are. It is called social chameleon. I learned that I had this ability once I realized that I change my character a lot. I am also a build up of many different characters. But there is a part of me that is really me and no one every really has access to it, except when I am typing. But anyway, yes people are very different and not one guide will help everyone, but I do know all the guides to help people. People can ask me anything and I will know immediately what type they are and what they want. Obviously in a logical thinking way, not like some magician.

Here is my recommendation of how this test should be used: Start with doing an honest test of how you currently feel and who you currently are. Then do the test again, by answering in a realistic version of who you can become in the near future. Compare the test results, write down the differences, set up concrete goals, and get to work!

1. compare using driving car analogy (mirror and road). 2. listen to your inner voice. 3. learn to keep promises to yourself. (consistency/reliability / trustworthiness) 4. find why it is important to do that before starting something. 5. document what you do. Learn from it. You are likely to encounter it again. 6. Start. Don't waste time thinking or planning, if it's taking too long. 7. don't expect things to work out easily.

Just a couple of principles I find extremely relevant in today's world. - Live selfish. You can't make anyone happy until you yourself are. - Goodness is in everyone. When you live selfishly and are thus doing things for yourself and are happy, you'll realize more opportunities to do things for others. They wont pass you by because you were too caught up in your own grief - Passion is overrated. Break it down. Respect the work and its place in the world and passion will follow.
