Why You Should Be Careful WHERE You're Placing Platforms! | The Forest

Hey man thanks for this, me and my friends were always wondering how cannibals keep getting into our base even though we had double thick defensive walls, we had platforms right at the gates to serve as like watchtowers man that glitch is so frustrating. One more thing to note, I saw this happening 2 times during my playthrough, a cannibal was like holding on to the rope of my zipline, as if it was a tree or something and used it to get into my base, crazy stuff man.

Not sure if it was a glitch, although I would assume it is. I only experienced it 2 times its like their hands are on the rope as if they were holding to a tree ready to jump and their feet are like leaning on to thin air, then they started to jump over the wall.

Farket, your work producing videos for this game is amazing. I think I enjoy watching your videos as much as playing the game itself. Cheers for that! I do have a question on this particular clip though... This was made last year, I was wondering does this bug still exist? If so, I guess this makes towers built behind your walls almost useless? My idea was putting a guard tower in each corner behind my defensive walls which would give me a line all down the wall to defend my position. Obviously if they're going to glitch through and climb up to get me, that strategy wont' work.

To be completely honest, I didn't even know that cannibals could climb platforms, but I haven't messed with the AI that much. Thanks for the info!

Damn, that's how they keep getting in! I build platforms behind my wall connected by bridges or foundations so I can repel attacks from up there.

Nice tips, I have never had cannibals climb my platforms or glitch through walls onto them, they always jump at me but don't quite reach the top, they just run around them and growl and jump then get shot lol, wonder if the hight I make them is a sweet spot to stop them climbing but always jump instead??

One Of My Platforms Are Indestructable. Cant Destroy it. So Was my Elevator Shaft. I Had to USE A Cannibal to Destroy it for me

thats crazy i have never had them climb a defensive wall that has to be new they always attack it I've had them like climb trees to jump over them but I've never had one climb a wall like that with the mod API are you like setting an aggressive level Maybe when you spawn them I don't know how mod API works but I've never seen them do that that's interesting

ModAPI does change some things though this is something Ive seen before. I had made them aggressive before hand, needed them to attack for the testing I was doing.

Here I am in 2018 playing on PS4, and I just had them “climb” up a stone wall three high, but they went higher up in thin air. Their animation was like climbing a tree though, and they jumped down to my platform which is about a foot from the wall.
