As a small side note: when this came out there wasn't a Legends vs Canon separation, and this game was released six months after Revenge of the Sith. So in a lot of ways, the story told on the campaign was THE way the 501st endured the Clone Wars, how order 66 came to existence and how they kept functioning after the Empire was stablished. So yes, nowadays it is a "what if" scenario, but back then it was THE official story.

Dude don’t, the original games run well on modern machines still. But this is literally a worse product than if you but the originals then pick up a couple super popular mods.(fun fact 0 time went into developing content for this, the updated textures are made by AI and the extra content is just a popular mod). We have the originals and I still play it with friends to this day. You can get it on sale for 2 bucks or less sometimes. Or full price for 5. Dont support this cheap cash grab

The graphics in these games were great for their time, there were games that came out in 2005 that had bad outdated graphics for back then. So I wouldn't say the graphics are bad, they're outdated by today's standards sure but when playing old games like this we have to keep in mind of when they released.

The DICE Battlefront games always felt too restrictive and linear. The OGs were a lot more creative when it came to player choice. Like being able to use a vehicle without some kind of screen or selecting a unit. The space battles were also way more engaging. Sure, a lot of it was unbalanced, but was such the case with most games in the mid 2000s.

We still have them. They are super cheap, run on modern machines, and best of all those you can get the same (more even) graphical touch ups and official content if you download a couple mods. Did I mention the multiplayer still works? I still play this game with friends. Dude just spend 5 bucks or 2 once it goes on sale and have a blast with the rest of the still alive community. There is no reason to support this low effort cash grab unless you don’t own a computer or laptop or any kind(the games are from 2007 and will run on anything with great performance)

Sure, there’s already multiplayer on pc, and I’ve been having a shit ton of fun playing it (especially after the player count effectively doubled when the collection’s announcement), but there’s only a couple servers that are populated at a time, usually with heroes disabled, and good luck if you want to play a space battle without bots making up 70% of the teams.

Honestly I've played Jedi Survivor and it just feels like a Disney Plus show to me with aspects of interactivity. I find it exhausting. That's just me though, I know it's a popular and acclaimed game. I prefer older games as they feel like games, so long as the core aspects of the games are good.

I love space combat on 2005 but the phisycs of the lightsabers and abilities feel really clunky and dated, i don't mind the graphics though, they're not that bad. Crash team racing had good phisycs instead for the time. All these games have good enough graphics. Battlefront 2017 has much much better phisycs and feels really smooth when aiming unlike 2005 which was a rushed game just doone in 1 year on the same dated engine 2004 game had and i played them as a kid and that time phisycs felt alright but obviously not as smooth as other shooters.

Didn't have internet for the longest time, so when I was in a multiplayer mood and had no one to play with, I just relied off of games that had offline mp bots. Battlefront 1 and 2, unreal tournament, timesplitters 2, etc. I was a lonely kid, but always knew how to entertain myself...

@@Ioudpacc I think one way it could work is via a hosted server with free drop in and drop out play. Any inactive slot would simply be taken over by a bot. And if the host doesn't make a move on the galaxy map within 90 seconds the rest of the players can vote to auto roll the next move or to pass on host privileges.

A small correction regarding the game mode Conquest: I think the main objective and way to win is to hold the majority of command posts, and drain the tickets of the enemy team. A team holding majority (for example, 3 CPs out of 5 on the map) will activate a ticket bleed on enemy tickets. You can try to win by just killing enemies, because a dead soldier is a ticket lost, but usually just racking up kills isn't enough without holding the command post majority.

I'd love to experience this game like the way it was back in the day when it had a peak playerbase. And the second, it makes a statement to most companies on what gaming is about. Not everything should be locked behind a paywall to make it complete. so in the second game on the pc version of it, if you look under controls and to starfighter. you can disable mouse turn assist and it helps control the starfighter much better. at least for the classic and not the collection. its usually automatically turned on when you make a new profile.

I know Battlefront 2 is where the multiplayer focus will be, but dont skip out on battlefront 1 online! Theres no sprint, so everything feels a little more deliberate and the maps feel larger as a consequence. Battlefront 1 also has starfighters on ground maps, which the second game omitted. Vehicles are also way scarier in the first game, because most can take you out in one shot but take forever to destroy. They were nerfed a bit in the second game. All of this contributes to a different feel for the first game that I quite enjoy. Really excited to play these online again on consoles.

I'm 26 (going to be 27 this year) and i've played the classics back then as a kid and even games like KOTOR, also even Star Wars: Obi-Wan, Bounty Hunter and Republic Commando. Loved the old games so much, they were hard, especially as a kid and playing them mostly in english even tho it's not my native language was a slight barrier. But i also learned english very early, even before shool, so i managed quite well at that time xD But yeah, now 20 years later i'm feeling hyped to "be this kid" again from back in the days and replay all of this glorious game with all dlc content and XL Mode which i didn't had on PS2. A friend of mine never acutally played the classic Battlefront games and he's super hyped to play the collection. So yeah, whether you played em or not, you should totally get the collection if you love Star Wars and especially games like Battlefront or Battlefield (since they are very similar) and you'll have much fun with it, either solo with bots or online, i'm sure of it.

The simplest explanation for why the clones knew about Order 66 in the og games was that it was just one of 150 contingency orders that they were expected to memorize, all part of Palpatine's idea of hiding the destruction of the Jedi among dozens of other such orders. While there was no intention of using any of the others by Palpatine, the Jedi didn't think much of it because there was also an order, Order 65, to immediately remove the Chancellor from office in the event he went rogue or the Security Council/a majority of the Senate declares him unfit to issue orders.

I'm 24, as well. I played the originals on the PS2. Mainly Star Wars Battlefront 2. Now, I still play 2 Classic, on PC. I did get the EA games, but I barely played them. They don't have the same charm. I was just playing Battlefront 2 Classic, last night. I've never played online. Just offline modes. I play for hours

Im 22 rn and the OG BF2 was my go to game on the PSP, eventually got the PC disc with BF1, Republic Commando, and BF2 bundled together (aka 3 discs in one case lol)

If you haven't played Battlefront 2(2005) you need to try the space battles. Go land in the enemy capital ship hangar and start taking out the systems from the inside on foot. I was expecting this style of gameplay in the new ones. Maybe they should think about keeping the same slick shooting and visuals from the Dice games and bring in the idea from the cancelled original Battlefront 3 and have huge battles that take place on land, in the sky and in space simultaneously. Essentially a seamless blend of the land and space battles from Battlefront 2(2005). Maybe make it 256 players with huge maps and capital ship interiors.

Hunt mode was always a fun change in gameplay! Theres a suprising amount of variety in the characters too!

im 30 and i got so excited watching the trailer. since i always played locally solo or splitscreen with friends im hyped to play 64 multiplayer. i really hope the servers dont die out.

Never played the games myself as a kid, but i remember i always loved to watch Battlefront 2 on KZbin, even though i didn't know English that well at the time, I still enjoyed the gameplay and funny moments from it, and now I HAVE to relive that, but this time as a player

Dude the hidden weapons in the games were lit. Having to do certain things like take out certain amounts of enemies within a short time. Just little hidden things.

This game just goes to show how absolutely legendary this was. It’s been nearly 20 years and this game is more hyped up than most AAA titles thatve come out in the last 5 years.

I’ve NEVER played the original Star Wars Battlefront I. So, if I get this collection two days before launch, I’ll be playing BOTH Campaigns for the first one. As me playing the first one will be a new experience for me. My Uncle did give me a PS2 copy, but I couldn’t get past the main menu, because it would crash EVERY five seconds. So, I’ll FULLY get to play the first one if I get this collection. Also, I get to play multiplayer for the FIRST time in these games, AND play the second game with ALL ground maps for Hero Assault!

When the classics first came out I couldn't play them since I was a wee little baby back then and also i only had a nintendo consoles. But now that they're coming out on the switch I think it's safe to say that I'm totally going to buy it

I was around when the original Battlefront games came out, but I never played them. Was too wrapped up in Halo 2 at the time. lol I'm real excited to try out the Classic Collection to see why everyone loves them so much. :)

I can't wait! The only complaint i have is that Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress are ripped from a 2021 PC mod, theyre not the original DLC bipeds

I’m not sure if it’s mentioned in the video as I’m not finished with it yet, but if you pre order at least on console you get 10% off! Now obviously it only takes it from $35 to like $31 but if you know you’re going to buy it at launch anyway and haven’t yet may as well save a few bucks!

For being 35 dollars, i wish they would also include Renegade Squadron and Elite Squadron content. Renegade Squadron had my favorite galactic conquest and the custom class system was amazing, plus the maps included were really unique and the story was a fun retelling of the rebel alliances fight against the empire. The gameplay wouldnt make sense on a modern console, but there's 2 other beloved battlefront games to take from in that regard
