D4Real D2 Lowering springs and Koni yellow shocks. That setup would ride great but it’s gonna be in the 800 to 1000 dollar range for the parts. For that price you could just simplify it and get the KTuned K1 Streets. They will ride great and you have the option to adjust your height to the right height if you change wheels or just want it to be different.

yup, i always do suspension first. In the early 2000's my first mod was ground control sleeves on kyb gr2's. I saved up the money and gave my friend the cash because he had a card at the time and ordered the gc's off JCW. I then saved up again picked up the shocks from autozone. I was only able to do the rear's one weekend and had to wait a week to do the front's ( i think i had to buy a part but didnt have enough money for it at the time). I remember driving around with a stiff rear end (i adjusted the sleeve to be about stock height so it wouldnt look funny). When i got the front's on I slammed the collars and on the first test drive i found out real quick you can't really drive around like that and end up doing about 1 or 2 finger gap so i wouldnt get tire rub. I also found out you must do a wheel alignment after you lower your suspension, i chewed up my tires in a few months. Ah the good ol' days.

My first mods on this car was turbo charging it. Then fmic. Then putting a muffler back on it. Then front lip and rear spats. Next is painting my summer wheels. Maybe going coil over to drop it 2 inches in summer but go back to stock height in winter since I always drive in the snow. I always believed in making a car decently quick before trying to make it look cool or quick. Bonus is when it looks fairly stock and you pull on unsuspecting people

I definitely did coils before wheels for the fitment purposes, I then ordered front camber arms and then my wheels, no camber arms in the rear, just running stock 350z wheels for now, and ESR's in the front, looks killer, wouldn't do any other way. If anyone sees this (even though this video old af) definitely do suspension first, like stated in the video, it helps you visualize best fitment for your build wants. I'm gonna be running -9.5 degrees of camber in the front and like -4 degrees in the rear, drift car stance. This is something I realized I wanted to do after slamming my SC400. So unless you plan on copying and pasting someone's entire build (which is a big no no but if you don't care about being flamed then go ahead) lowering your car helps visualize wheel fitment a lot more realistically.

on my first car, a '98 Camaro V6, the first real mod (that wasn't just cleaning out mold and gunk and replacing broken stuff) were wheels and tires because no one makes 235/55r16s and the ones on the stock wheels were three different tire types from two different companies and they were bald and dry rotted and felt like they were made from driftwood. i needed replacements for those much more than i needed to change the suspension on the car (which my father and i kept fighting about. i wanted to lift it for rallying. he wanted it raked for drag racing.) went with OEM C5 Corvette 17x8.5 wheels, black with a machined lip, with 275/45s Michelins front and rear. then i had all the grip in the world until i understeered head-on into a Lincoln Navigator. at least i found out i didn't have Takata airbags.

My CLA45 doesn’t need wheels because it came with 19” alloy rims that look dope as hell. No reason to blow 2k on new wheels until i get all the other performance mods i want. IMHO ECU "tune" is useless in a N/A car, unless you just got done doing serious mods to the internals. Yeah you can change your HP/tq band but you won't increase anything that will effect your 0-60 time. In a F/I car you will see substantial gains, but only because your adding boost and fuel. For the cost of a "Tune" you could do a ton of other mods that are more enjoyable.

First thing I do to my cars; tint, new headlight bulbs (if they're halogen stock or simply want a different color) and lowering the car. Then I get rid of any chrome if the car has any along with new tires. Wheels haven't always been a top priority as I've had cars with decently nice stock wheels that look dope with the car lowered. I've also had cars where the stock wheels were horrid and I got new ones.

When i was young, my parents had a toyota Avanza and they modded it. It had modded bumpers that are 3 inch low on both front and back and they lowered it as well. It looks hella cool yet one time we where going onto a ramp, the whole front bumper extender came off XD. Now the car itself wasnt harmed since it is a 8 seater van of some sort but since it have the extenders and it was lowered, the lip came off. Let's just say, my pops wasn't too impressed.

Careful. Don't perpetuate the myth that "coilovers are always an upgrade." Truth is, most low end coilovers ride WORSE, perform WORSE, and are often more DANGEROUS. R&D effort spent on valving is costly, and not found in a set of $500 Racelands. Reducing body roll and CG represents only a small increase in cornering performance. Shock dynos paint the full picture, and a set or dampers matched with spring rates and good rebound WILL keep the rubber on the road, where you want it to be. Short: No, many coilovers are NOT form and function upgrades on several platforms.
