For months I had incredible pain from an ovarian cyst that popped. It made it harder for me to walk and I lost weight because it put pressure on my stomach and so I couldn't eat as much. Everyone at work kept commenting about how much weight I had lost. I felt awful. It felt like I was dying. All anyone cared about was how great I looked. It made me so angry.

Amen. I can't stand these shallow people in positions of power and especially the so-called "experts" thinking they know when they really do not and they lack telling the truth.

I can relate to every word you said. Thank you for this video. I wish people who truly needed to hear this stuff watched these videos instead of people like us who took the hit from all the nasty weight/body comments. I have polyps throughout my GI tract which caused me problems for years before I finally caved and went to see a doctor. By that time some of them were big enough to cause hours long excruciating pain and unbearable nausea due to partial or almost full blockage and what they call intussusception which is basically small or large bowel folding in on itself. I had multiple emergency endoscopies and colonoscopies and eventually an open surgery to reverse the blockages and there were times I couldn’t even drink water for weeks on end. And you know what I’ve heard from people around me? YOU LOST WEIGHT, YOU LOOK GREAT!!!! This is unacceptable behavior. Obsession with other people’s weight and body is beyond infuriating to me.

Thank you. This isn't the first of your videos I've seen, but it is such a relief to have heard these extremely clear and reasonable points.

Wish I could shove this video in the face of those people who tell me to lose weight!!!!

While I would not advocate for any shoving (😉 ), perhaps if someone brings it up, you could ask honestly what they are trying to accomplish with their comment. I do believe most of the people who comment believe they are "helping" and don't understand the implications. (Some are actually being intentionally harmful, so I wouldn't spend any energy on them.)

Blaming someone, never help them to be more motivated to look better. Over eating is a coping behaviour most of the time. You can not help them creating more guilt by your blaming words. This is not an easy problem to solve. Once the body adjusts to a higher weight, it does not accept to lose its treasure (which is the wealth of stored energy) You can not understand if you have never been overweight. It's not as simple as it seems.

Why should anyone look better?

How about not telling other people what they should and should not say?
@sabinetsamtsukakis40313 жыл бұрын
Even this is a question, you are telling right now, what people have to do too. I've we get conscious about us, we get more compassionate. Because she is setting boundaries, and this is healthy. Not everyone will like this, but we are all setting boundaries hopefully❤️

I can’t tell someone else what they can or can’t say…but I will clearly tell you what I will or won’t allow you to say to me. If you make a comment about my weight, expect a clear boundary being swiftly laid out that may have in your feelings afterwards 💯

Mind the business that pays you, if it’s not about you yourself or something that affects you personally then it is not your business.
