Do this John Terry workout regularly and your knees will be done in 2 years!!! Treadmills aren't good for you!!!

Ashley Henighan why do you say this? Is there evidence for this? Because most football players and athletes in general have portable used treadmills regularly

@@onajharmonikasmarko8592 If you're doing high intensity intervals on a treadmill your knees will be cabbaged in 2 or 3 years - facts!!
@onajharmonikasmarko85924 жыл бұрын
Ashley Henighan it may be or it may not. I don’t know. Do you have any studies or research that proves it? Because I have been researching this and have found nothing that says treadmills are bad. The only thing I have found is that they can be harmful if you already have foot, ankle, knee or hip injury’s prior to use of a treadmill.
@SuperTonygrant4 жыл бұрын
@@onajharmonikasmarko8592 Honestly Marko if you can get your fitness from lower impact methods such as spinning classes or doing swimming sprint intervals - this will be more kind on your body. Maybe still do some treadmill workouts. But if you're running on treadmills at speeds such as 20 kmph doing intervals, a few times a week, it's going to impact your knees in a short period of time!! I learned this the hard way. I retired from soccer aged 29 thanks to the John Terry workout that f**ked up my poor knees :( Coulda, shoulda, woulda had so much more time in the game!!

I’ve done the John terry cardio workout last offseason and I was doing it 4 times a week i got up to 18 sets I thought the more the better while I was training 2hrs a day and weights. After a full week of that, the following week I could only do 8 sets without my chest beating so hard .So in my opinion you shouldn’t do this more than 3 times a week. It’s very taxing on you. And this is only one portion of fitness. You still got endurance and on the ball.

I like to use the JT workout as a measure of match fitness. Personally i feel 8 sets is okay fitness but not enough for a full match. 12 sets is much better and you may need 1-3 breathers mid game. Then 15 sets or more i feel very solid fitness wise and can make all the runs even be box to box as a full back! The JT workout is a great workout to get you prepared for match fitness.

I've been getting up to 20 sets of this workout for some time now and always try to really push my speed barrier on the high intensity periods. I feel this is great for cardio and overall football endurance as a regime, however if people want to focus more on getting faster for speed in football its the fast-twitch muscle style movements that should be incorporated. Sure this style of HIIT helps but there are better workouts in that case.

Hey Matt, I'm no expert but everyone's got an opinion right. I'd agree with your highlighted areas of improvement but with regards crossing and assists, how are you going to hit your targets if your team's tactics don't allow you to get forward enough in final 1/3? TAA wouldn't be the player be is if he wasn't allowed to push on and the holding mids covered for him. Maybe you should target on just getting forwards more often because I rarely see you in the final 1/3. Have you discussed with your coach? How does your opposition full back compare stats wise? I'm sure you've thought about these things also.
