You have to look at the actual differences between the trucks. Often you will see a F250 SRW with the exact same axle as the F350 SRW has. There is often also the same leaf pack in both trucks with max tow packages. They have the same engine and same transmission so then what’s the difference in capability? The badge is the only difference. My 2024 F350 SRW 6.7 HO Platnium Tremor within full GAWR, GVWR and GCWR are all within spec for a 18k 42’, Brinkley Z3610 yes I weighed. Many F250’s can pull the same load within spec. I don’t know the other guy you are talking about but just pointing out he may very well be within all capacity. The KZbin Channel C Farmer has 500k miles on a Chevy 2500 as a hot shot driver, air bags keeps it level and know one is in danger. The truck lasted just fine. The manufacturers rate them for weight for consumer consumption, for drivers without a CDL. We all know the F450 is a commercial level vehicle but the sticker keeps it in spec for retail consumer.

Those are good points, thanks for the detailed comment! Do you know if C Farmer has ever had issues with DOT for being over the door sticker? I never have but try to keep it within spec because of insurance/liability

@@powerstrokemaintenance your welcome, DOT doesn’t look at the sticker, they look at the weight of the truck and trailer combined. They will make you buy certain items like a permit or something like that when your Gross Weight is over a certain amount as you go from state to state. It’s all about the fee. C Farmer has said that there are many guys who drive 3/4 trucks instead of 1 tons because of the ability to run lighter over all weight to pull more trailers and not have to buy that permit. I am calling it a permit because I am not sure what it’s called although I am pretty sure it’s a permit :). Most of the time they don’t look for deleted trucks either but I would imagine that depends on the state and the DOT officers if pulled over. Do what makes you feel comfortable, I only brought it up because it seemed like you were being a bit hard calling that other guy out when it might have been sticker compliant. For what it’s worth I have heard from multiple channels and manufacturers engineer that the ratings via the sticker are 1,000 pounds under actual lifetime ability of the axle, brakes, suspension and so on.

@@powerstrokemaintenance I’m excited to see it in the truck. I hope they make a 7-8ft model for a long bed. I will place an order right away. That insulation idea is genius. Super easy to heat and cool. I hope they make them a little taller. I built many camper vans and insulation was always my biggest issue. I was ready to order a shell, but they are impossible to insulate good as you found out. This Hitchhiker is just what I need. I can still pull my boat to the lake or swamp and just sleep in the back at the ramp the night before. Please do a review soon. Thanks

Good points. Who are you pulling rv’s for and what rock flap in on the back of your truck? Also have you gone to the S&B fuel tank?

I drive for wave express and run the Rockstar full width bumper mounted flap. And yes I did have the S&B 60 gallon tank installed
