As a chinese living in America, I'm deeply sorrowed by the deaths of so many American people but also appalled by the stupidity and the ignorance the gov and the public had exhibited. How do you expect a country to handle any crisis well if there's a lack of respect to basic facts? I don't necessarily want to draw quick conclusions like the virus def didn't originate from china, as patient zero had never been confirmed. but human are emotional. We have a tendency to rationalize things based on partial information (for those interested, this was discussed in great details in Thinking, Fast and Slow by the famous nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman). It's so much easier to believe it's all the someone else's fault rather than painstakingly searching for the truth, perhaps that's how Donald Trump succeeded in inciting people with this lazy way of thinking. I came to the US in 2010. It's interesting how Chinese's perception of the US had overturned in these 11 years. Back then the US was highly regarded for its democracy (believe it or not!), the top higher education system, leading finance and technology industries and great pay. It was a country most looked up to. Fastforwarding to today, as we're in the abyss we call US-China relation now, most Chinese couldn't fathom the enmity stemmed from the Western. After all, the success story of China is, ironically, rooted in a shift from Communism to Capitalism (officially "Market Economy with a Chinese Characteristic" in China). The Chinese picked up the jobs Americans didn't want, and/or the jobs American capitalists handed over due to basic principles of economics; It's the Chinese students keeping the US colleges afloat (UIUC had an insurance policy against the risk of decline in Chinese international students); At the onset of the pandemic, millions of Chinese (11mil in Wuhan and many other adjacent cities) sacrificed their freedom to buy you time against the virus and yet the US squandered it. If you believe the WHO as a fair international organization, it had only praises to how well China had handled the pandemic (mind you that US is the biggest funder of the WHO, at 24% of overall contribution). I often find it interesting how Americans advocates for freedom of speech and spirits of journalism. It's eye-opening to see how western media had all decided to demonize China as it's getting harder and harder to see ANY positive news on China here in the US. It's a very impressive inter-continental effort of organized propaganda so the stupid and naive masses can be adequately brainwashed in the dream of democracy. From that perspective, the US is not less obscene from the Communists at its game.

He even quotes the virologist as mentioning December in this video while his other arguments rely on the virus not arriving later in January after other reported incidents . . . incidents that didn't start their own outbreaks like in Wuhan. He doesn't even try to mention how the CCP withheld knowledge of human to human transmission for at least 6 days. Reducing Wuhan to "the point of amplification" is not nice to say to the Chinese people. Let's pretend that's true. What does that mean then? That Wuhan was either dirtier or more susceptible to the virus than the rest of the world? But then suddenly after the outbreak gets big in Wuhan, then the rest of the world is also susceptible? The story doesn't make sense that way.

Speaking as an American living in Canada your words and INTENTION are definately seen to be more "unbias" then written by an ethnic Chinese. If more Westerns think, speak and do like you with the aim of China and US working as partners, then the whole world will be more harmonous and progressive. My information is that PRC residents can go to Macau, and I think my HK ID would let me in too. However, only PRC residents and a few foreigners with the right sort of visa can enter China. That's why I haven't left Zhuhai for nearly a year; I could go to HK any time, but would not be able to come back. I strongly recommend you check what documents you need. Good luck😎

Thanks for doing these. As an Aussie we have PLENTY of Chinese living here and we have done well with the virus to the point where we think the Government has done overkill (ie. Allow business as usual for non infected states, and flight/border testing should be ok). *I remember seeing on our local news outlets "China bashing" calling it a modern day dictatorship by locking down* . And 2 months later our nation did it. I sadly think the fear of culture really is what causes these stupid mindsets. It's sad to see given we all have the internet and can learn things ourselves.
