Getting up and moving might be the best advice, I work a lot on computer and I always find reason to blame my weak immune system and avoid seeing the true problem because I love *chilling* at home. But it's true every time I stand up and do some chores and hit the bike and come back on my chair my hands feel warm again and it feels really nice! Thanks for all the tips

Great video, covers important basics we all should know. I tell people buying gloves a lot of Michelle's points and a couple of keeping hands warm guidelines. Going outside more than 3 minutes? Put hand lotion on your hands before you put on your gloves. Wear gloves with plenty of airspace, air is an insulator. These gloves should not fit like surgical gloves. Keep your hands above your waist when standing, walking or sitting. If you take your gloves off DON'T set them down anywhere. Put them in your pockets or inside your coat. Putting your cold hands inside cold gloves takes a long time to warm back up. Mittens are warmer than fingered gloves. Four fingers in a mitten is like four politicians in a small room, it always heats up.

Mittens are better than gloves, especially those that have a fold over tip to release the fingers when you need to use them, and flip back on when you don't. Get windproof ones with a wool lining, Keep your arms warm. I have a fleece with arms comprising a triple layer of knitted wool, and avoid that gap between cuff and glove. In very cold weather I have used a couple of pairs of old socks with toes cut out to bridge the 'wrist gap' - It ain't high fashion, but your hands stay warm.

My hands are in and out of water all day. Too much trouble putting on & taking off gloves. In cold weather, hands get cold shortly after been in water. No problem in warm weather. Very informative video.

Michelle, I am responding to this video because it is you latest video, only believing it'll be my best opportunity to hear from you. I slipped and fell on black-ice on Feburary 23, 2023. I "crushed" my right elbow, having reconstructive surgery on Feburary 25, 2023 (hardware). Soft cast was removed on March 09, 2023. I began physical therapy on March 15, 2023. My injuries: I broke both fore-arm bones from the elbow and pushed the elbow cap halfway up my back arm. I am unable to flex my arm (elbow) upward, cannot make a fist, the muscles in back arm and fore arm are tight as a rock. Are these tight muscles normal after an injury like mine? Should I ice elbow often? Should I use warm compresses? How hard should I push exercises? I still have swelling and bruising in elbow area. I would greatly, greatly appreciate any advise from you. Thank you kindly for taking the time to read my comment.

Hi Michelle, I am diagnosed with schleroderma with raynauds and work in the IT. So have a lot of work on laptop. Can u suggest any exercises and tips to keep the hand healthy . i am already suffering with cold hands.

have you tried a greenhouse type low level heat mat on your work table? I play concertina and occasionally have to perform outside in cold weather. I find that a couple of pairs of latex gloves with just the tips cut out help a lot. you can also get hand warmer heat pads you can slip under the glove next to your palm

Hello, what a great video, many thanks! I would like to ask you what therapy would you suggest when my ulnar and radial arteries got compressed (lots of typing on my PC)? I have problems with my cold hand and this might be a problem. Thank you in advance for your help. Daniela

The easiest way is to move your keyboard and mouse to the edge of your desk. This lets you float your wrists instead of compressing them.👍

I wear mittens because gloves make my hands colder. It doesn’t matter the size of the glove. I think it’s because. It’s separating my fingers that are already not getting proper blood circulation. Mittens allow you to keep your fingers together. It seems to make a difference for me.

I moved to Florida in 1987 because I could not stand the cold. The best way to warm your fingers is to grab your balls if you are a guy. I can't speak for women.
