Finally someone said it. KZbin has been feeling kinda same-y to me recently (especially in the filmmaking space). Everytime I search up some camera that is more than a year old, I get bombarded with those "IS X CAMERA GOOD IN [Insert Current Year]?!" videos. No hate to the channels that make that kind of content, but I feel like there's way more original stuff to put out. I feel like people make them more to justify their camera purchase than actually adding a different take on that same topic. Same deal with those "GEAR DOESN'T MATTER" videos. Again, no hate to people who make that kind of content (you do you), but if you're filmmaking channel, don't be a 2018 Peter Mckinnon. Be yourself, because that's what people are here for. I think I need to Reuse a clip of this in my upcoming video about getting demonetized for reusing other peoples content. Mainstream KZbin content was beyond watered down, and imitated years ago. And clickbait. How do those face pics still work? It's like, imagine instead of Christopher Nolan making insane movies every 3 years or so, he just made youtube videos every week, but the cover pics had him with a shocked and surprised face. He'd probably be more popular to people with a 7th grade education, and Barbenheimer would not exist. Good video btw.

It's the age old problem of commerce versus art. Beautiful or meaningful art rarely gets the return on investment it deserves. But artists will always have to exchange some level of artistic integrity in order to keep making the art. If they want to eat at least. In the YT space it's reviews, sponsorships, affiliate links, in exchange for autonomy from client projects, whereas in the movie world, it's garbage studio projects like live action peter pan in exchange for passion films and blank check films.
