There are reasons why his lyrics are spicy. When he released his first album, Infinite, in 1996, it didn't sell. I think he only made a 1000 copies, so that's probably the highest number of the official copies sold to this day. I've heard a story about Eminem just handing out his albums to people just to get recognition, because people were not buying them. He was broke at the time and he needed to feed his daughter. But the Infinite album had so much intricate lyricism and rhyming, it was better than most of the mainstream rap out there, and the people who heard the album actually liked it, it didn't have commercial success though. Eminem was so disappointed that he said "F it, I don't care anymore", and he created an alter-ego Slim Shady, who would just say the craziest stuff that can rhyme. And this alter-ego made him a famous millionaire, so he ran with it. And another reason is that being popular, he was put in the same box with other celebrities and pop stars, who he didn't want to identify with. So he would use spicy lyrics to distinguish himself from the others.

The one family member he has talked about loving a lot is his Uncle Ronny, who introduced him to rap music. But his uncle killed himself when he was a teenager. That's the only one I can think of.
