I cried both times i saw this in the theaters ugh who ever has gone thru as being seen as the weird kid or rejected for not being what society sees as "attractive" will understand this scene on so many levels. A powerful moment in the movie, even down to the moment Glendas so called "friends" told her to stop and she didnt is also a representation of how people are cool with u until you do something that THEY dont like smh 🙏🙌 loved this movie.

Great scene, I have never seen the play so i didn't know what Elphaba was doing at first, she looked like she might have been trying to cast a spell on them. When Glinda joins her the acting is superb, showed how no one else really understood what passed between them in that moment, not just "this person did something nice for me so I'll be nice to them" but "this person understood something about me that no one else did before."

Love this scene and loved that Ariana didn't know the dance. Completely unscripted. I'm definitely an Elphaba. I am an outcast. No friends, family has forgotten about me and I them as they were manipulative and backstabbing. I'm just not as brave as elphaba to not care what people think.... This scene is why I have a hard time characterizing Glinda as a villain. She may not be “good,” but she’s certainly not evil. A truly evil person wouldn’t be able to put aside their own image and desires to show true acceptance to someone who desperately needs it. Bravo to these actresses. I cried my eyes out in this scene.
