This song is so much more important to me since after I've moved states. Whenever I listen to it, all I think about are two of my best friends that I had to leave in my old state, and how much they've changed me and we've affected each other. I learned skills from them, they brought me out of my shell after only a year or two, and just overall are people I'll never be able to forget. This song will never _not_ be emotional for me. It was touching before, but now it's so much more touching.

After trying to one-up each other for Fiyero's affections, Elphie & Fiyero bore a son, Liir, whose own adventures were covered in the "Son of a Witch" sequel. Soon after, political and social uprising against the corrupt policies enacted by Madame Morrible as the truly evil mastermind & unknowingly endorsed by the not-so great & powerful Wizard as a charlatan figurehead leader hiding in his chambers like a simpering, sniveling coward afraid of all real magic surrounding him and easily manipulated by, first, Madame Morrible & following her "death" - which a deranged & bitter Elphie WANTED to take blame for, even if the presumed "Wicked Witch" was innocent, as it WAS Madame Morrible who conjured up the cyclone that carried blissfully ignorant farm girl Dorothy Gale & her annoying, ankle-biting dog Toto from their drab, sepia-toned life in the "Other World" reality of KANSAS to the oddly colorful fairytale land over the rainbow, dropping their farmhouse (with them inside) headfirst onto Elphie's holier-than-thou crippled sister, Nessarose, crushing her from above (the pre-desposed "Wicked Witch of the East" was an arm-less amputee in the book, but a wheelchair-bound disabled person in the musical, and the famous footwear given to her by the sisters' preacher father Frex [as governor of Munchkinland County, he was called away for an out-of-town religious summons, leaving Nessa in charge]).
