I just saw the extended toss toss scene and wow I finally understand what John meant when he said that during the auditions Ariana was always the most interesting person in the room. The way she plays with Glinda is something like when you have a favorite character and you daydream of talking to them and YOU make up their lines and yours. I can tell by her characterization how much she adores Glinda as a kid and as she grew up.

Just went to the cinema and first I am dissapointed, it is not even the whole movie, it is part one, which makes no sense as it did not end, it was like cut in half. Secondly, I need to admit that Ariana was perfect, Cynthia did not make sense in this role. It worked for Ariana as she looks like a student so could pass for an 18 year old, but Cynthia does look in her late 40s in this movie so it looks so weird. I think she is a great singer but I have no idea why they chose her for this role.
