Movie was stellar. Potentially the best musical of all time and arguably best picture this year. And I’m a straight dude not at all a “fan girl” (not that that’s even relevant, but just to show I’m less biased), but I’ve always enjoyed the Wizard of Oz movie and plays and damn was this movie a fun time.

@ yeah, figured this wouldn’t be received well lol, it’s ok tho, it felt necessary considering I’ve seen multiple articles saying that Wicked and Barbie were made for and marketing toward women and queer folk and considering I’m neither and still enjoyed it, that bodes well. This is amazing - thanks for sharing! I’ve been obsessed with this soundtrack for 20 years - a friend shared it and narrated the whole show for me circa 2004 sheet his brother introduced him. I read the book but it’s a little different. I woukd have loved to see Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth perform it on Broadway…if only I had a Time Machine!

I hate when they speed up the tempo of all the songs. It feels like the show is being rushed through.

A surprisingly large number of shows do that for some reason. For me the most notable is Jekyll and Hyde back when David hasslehoff was doing it. If you’ve ever seen the recording the entire song list is sped up But they aren’t the first and won’t be the last to do it

@@magicamadeyeFaster tempos means you don’t have to hold out those long belt-y notes as long. The flip side is that it can be more challenging to breath through the rest of the song. Tempos during a live performance tend to move at a faster clip than a cast recording - at least in my experience.
