I just finished watching Wicked for the first time today, and Ariana was born for this role. Her voice had my jaw dropped from the very first song. I love her. I also noticed she acted, danced, and sang from her head to her toes. There were some 'lines' from Glinda that were in her feet or her legs or her flailing arms. Popular was sooo much fun! It even had an emo girl like me understand a popular girl like Glinda. What a joyful and wonderful movie.

Ariana was amazing in this, she really became Glinda. I forgot that I saw Ariana playing Glinda, I saw Glinda. And some of those insanely high operatic notes are nothing short of impressive! And her comedic talent is spot on as well, as are her scenes where she is showing Glinda's more sincere and vulnerable side. If Ari decides to pursue more acting, it's gonna be exciting to see where this will bring her!

I saw the movie yesterday. I’ve never been a fan of Ariana’s music, but she killed it as Glinda. I was skeptical because we see so many singers/actors/actresses who aren’t able to transform into their roles and you can only see them, not the character they’re supposed to be. Ariana transformed into Glinda. She became Glinda and I was amazed. I don’t think anyone could’ve done it better than her in this film. I’m not big into musicals and I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this film, but I loved it! Bravo!

Living under a rock for the past decade, I had never heard of Ariana Grande other than about a bombing at a live show or something overseas.... So when I watched this and found out that the "dippy blonde" chick was Ariana Grande, I took notice.... Her absolute control of her physicial presence onscreen is actually uncanny. Wicked was fantastic. Everything about it! They nailed it. I saw it 3 times in Chicago on Broadway and the first was with Kristin Chenowith & Idina Menzel. Iconic. Ariana Grande was flawless not only as a singer but an actress. I fell in love with her today while watching it for the first time Christmas Eve. It was magical. She was made to play Glinda. Cynthia Erivo gave me the chills. Perfect casting. Choreography & costume design w CGI so bright and colorful. The messages and undertones of Wicked are so important in today’s world. Accept different. The color of our skin doesn’t judge our character. The dance scene at the Oz dust ballroom was my favorite scene. The fluid motion mirroring each other was epic. Glinda stands up as the popular girl and includes Elfie the outcast. That is so so powerful. We are all just trying to fit in and get through life making friends and building relationships. We are so much stronger together as humans than divided. We must say no to bullying and stand up for what’s right. Too many kids dying or self inflicting harm because school bullies make their lives a living hell. It makes me so sad. We all need to treat each other better in this world. If you see someone getting picked on or bullied stand up for them because you could save a life. Protect our animals and world. Ariana Grande you changed my entire POV of you today and you deserve to win an Oscar for best supporting actress for her role. Wicked should sweep the Academy Awards! ❤❤❤

I just saw Wicked last week (last Wednesday 12/18). It was fantastic. Both Cynthia and Ariana killed their roles. Ariana was literally born to play Glinda. Hard to believe that she always dreamed of playing the role since she was a little kid, and saw it on broadway. Glad that her wish came true, and hope to see them both again in part 2 called “For Good”.

It annoys me when people in a lot of comments keep saying that Glinda was the actual wicked one in this story. We’re embracing the very problem Wicked is warning us about, which is that society always wants to make a common enemy out of someone. The point of this story is that there’s wickedness and goodness in everyone. Ariana Grande did a stellar job by bringing out this complexity in her portrayal, and she did so while keeping Glinda as charming, charismatic, entertaining, relatable and fun as she could be! Truly an amazing performance!
