Welcome back to our God of War Lore journey! In this video, we follow the story of Kratos, a former servant of the Gods who has grown tired of their demands and seeks retribution for his loyalty.

No it’s not lmao, the narrator is the village oracle the old lady, who is really one of the furies from gow ascension in disguise. Which is why she wears the omega symbol around her neck. Gaia is Omnipresent (forever present) which is why she says she’s always been with kratos. She is literally the mother of earth which is why she sees everything

@@mikeyb0121 Incorrect! Gaia stops narrating exactly after she betrays Kratos in GOW 3. In GOW 2, she says "His death is something that I could not allow" then she reveals herself, after Kratos asks "Who are you?". The furies are chronologically dead before GOW 2; meaning they couldn't possibly say "His death is something that I could not allow".

It's impossible she said "Kratos was destined to bring change so severe it would shake the very pillars of Mount Olympus, his death is something that I could not allow". Check Timestamp 11:35 and onward. The narrator said "I could not allow" focus on "I" then revealed herself to be Gaia.

The Gods are the children of the titan Kronos. He feared his children would grow too powerful and overthrow him so he imprisoned them in his belly all except Zeus. Zeus’s mother couldn’t stand to watch another one of her children be eaten so she switched baby Zeus with a rock that was swaddled in similar blankets and Kronos ate the rock thinking it was Zeus. Rhea(Zeus mother) order a eagle to fly Zeus to a island far beyond the watchful eye and Reach of Kronos and it was Gaia who cared for him and kept him safe until he reached maturity but her act of kindness for baby Zeus would be her greatest mistake because in saving Zeus she allowed him to return to the Titans with with absolute hate and vengeance in his heart so he poisoned Kronos and made him vomit up his siblings which are now fully grown Gods and Zeus punished all the titans for the sins of just one (Kronos) thus leading to “THE GREAT WAR” in which Zeus and the other Gods of Olympus defeated the titans Using “The Blade Of Olympus” and banished the titans to the Deepest Darkest pits of Tartarus and this Began the reign of the Olympians.. so in conclusion Kronos killed his Father “Uranus” , Kronos was overthrown by his son Zeus, Zeus was killed by his son Kratos. Which is why Zeus told Kratos “THE CYCLE ENDS HERE”

@@monke8863 Actually Hera, Hestia and Demeter came before Zeus , they were children of Chronos as well. It was these 3 sisters and the 3 brothers (Zeus Poseidon and Hades) who started the Olympians . The rest of the gods came after the titanomachia and are all children of Zeus(except Aphrodite who is a unwillingly daugther of Ouranos thus a Titan technically)

When Zeus says "The cycle ends here" he's eluding to the unending cycle of sons overthrowing their fathers. First Kronos vs his father Uranus, then Zeus vs Kronos, then Ares vs Zeus, etc... In Greek myths Zeus even tries to eliminate Athena before she is born. Zeus only spares Athena because she was born a daughter and the prophesy specifically referred to a son.

Just something to keep in mind as you continue to watch the history of Kratos. Keep the Blades of Chaos in mind because they are just as important to this story as is Kratos. Aries originally made them for Kratos and they were blessed with his power, he is now dead and they were given Athena's power. Keep this in mind because this is extremely important for the story, even though the powers in the blades change they are still attached to him. there is a reason for that.

The blades of Athena REPLACED the blades of chaos, he fought with a different set of blades in every major game (GOW 1, 2 and 3). Well…technically. The blades of exile were made FROM the blades of Athena, but he lost access to the Blades of Chais for a long time. They didn’t come back until after he *spoilers* * * * * Destroyed Olympus and Greece as collateral damage

Fun fact, the grave digger in the franchise is actually Zeus since the very first game, and in the game Ghost of Sparta you can actually play as him in a special mode, with will also showcase the Blade of Olympus (the most powerfull weapon in the franchise) before we got a chance to use it in God of War 3 and the glove from Chains of Olympus. Also keep in mind, the Blades of Chaos (the ones connected to his chains) are an extension of Kratos himself and forever connected to him, no matter what, they are weapons bound to him either him being alive or dead, with cause him to stay dead, incrinsingly difficult.

In Greek mythology Gaia is one of the primordial gods that emerged from chaos, a primordial god is a god that existed before creation and they personified on what their domain was, for example since Gaia was the primordial goddess of the earth she was the earth itself or her sister Nyx who personified the night itself, think of them as being the grandparents to the gods they’re more powerful and more highly respected than the god and the titans put together.

Well, the youngest of the Olympians because they have way more God's that were established later like the God of Healing/medicine was once a human who knew how to raise the dead before Hades asked Zeus to help deal with him which he interpreted as blasting him with lightning which upset Apollo since it was his son and Hades because he didn't want to kill the guy. So they resurrected him as a God of Healing and told him just not to raise the dead anymore. That's another thing, not all children of the Gods are Demigods, some of them are born as regular humans but usually accomplish some great task, are gifted immortality, interact with some magical item (River of Styx or drink Hera's it milk), etc in order to become a God.

The realm of Thanatos & the realm of Hades are two completely different places, just as the rulers are two completely different deities. Hades is the king of the underworld world, whereas Thanatos is death itself. He is the one who collects the souls of humans when their time has come & guides them to the river Styx. From there the ferryman, Charon, takes them the rest of the way to the underworld. Of course, if you don't have payment for Charon, then your soul is left to wander the shores of the river Styx for all eternity. Basically, you're stuck in purgatory. That's why the ancient Greeks would bury their dead with coins, either placed in the mouth of the deceased or over the eyes. This was payment for Charon to insure safe passage to the underworld.

Zeus had many children, among them are Aries, Athena, and Kratos Aries who likes to fight in all forms, even challenges on competitions, he was ultimately chaotic. Athena, while she looks normal, kind and caring, she has a dark side, she was involves in the creation of Medusa, and her defeat, the Trojan war, our boy Kratos, handler... like ever since he was a boy. Athena's Mother, is a God known as Metis, who was pregnant with Athena, when Zeus ate his wife who he tricked to become a fly. Hepthesus, had to take a chisel to Zeus head, to release the pressure of his headaches, Athena popped out of the wound, in full armor, ready to fight. The reason for Metis death was that she gave as good as her got, and Zeus did not like to be held back or pushed around by his wife...

Gods and titans and several other beings are the deities of Greek mythology. The titans are more specifically the first and proginators of the gods who would overthrow them and call themselves Olympians. It is not as sclesr cut though like how Helios is shown as an Olympian god but he is technically from a generation of titans.

To summerize it, ill try to explain by the actual greek mythology. First there was the primordials.... gaia, Uranus, Pontus & eros (yes there are 2 eros, the primordial was a love withour boundaries, the purity of love itself & then there was the one often modelling the by roman perception, cupid) are only some of them, others are debated, as to which they belong, such as nyx, erebus & the moirae (sisters of fate). Uranus was actually born, from gaia, then bred with her the original tytpically believed 12 though some debate up to about 36 titans & several 'monsters'. Chaos/Khaos was the original of everything, a nothingness, balanace etc... its complicated in the misalalignments. Gaia & Uranus they were the primary rulers of the primordials prior to the rise of the titans. Every ruler has taken power since the fall of Uranus, the same way... castration by the sickle of adamante (sickle/sithe made of adamantium commonly considered the gods metal..... last known holder of it was Hermes, though many believe Athena's Spear ( which some believe is 'the spear of destiny'... the same one that according to christian mythology pierced the ribs of jesus upon his crucifixtion) is fashioned from remnants of it)... Chronos Castrated his father Uranus on the order by Gaia, Zeus castrated Chronos by order of his mother rhea & grandmother gaia.... all of which the fates had ample hand in to everything that led to it.... by prophecy, the gods in hubris always seeking the power to control all could not handle the prophecy of their own demise.... but no matter what the words of the fates ALWAYS come to pass, even if there are changes & hurdles, fate always finds a way. It is why Zeus himself only feared 2.... Nyx (primordial goddess of night) & the moirae (sisters of fate). He has already been given his own prophecy which led him to eating the pregnant titan metis, only to bear forth their child himself through his own head.... she or at least her fraternal twin mortal brother, are prophesiesed to overthrow him. The titan's were overthrown in the 'titanomachy', war between the titans & the 6 original olympians (Hades, Hera, Hestia, Poseidon, Demeter & Zeus). It is during this war that The staffs of the 3 gods were gifted to channel their power & the bracer in which zeus wore that helped channel Thunder.... Hera possibly had a simular bracer, as he controlled thunder, she controlled lightning, or so some say. Majority of the titans, upon their fall, where placed into punishment, most in tartarus but some in more hands on places, like atlas, whom hera oversaw witht eh aid of the hundred handed & or mlti eyed monster of gaia. memory is fading some lol. The olympians welcomed some of the titans to join the ranks of the olympian hierarchy.... that aided them in battle.... but some that did aid was still cast to tartarus for various usually superficial reasons... Gaia was one of them.... she aided the olympians but was considered to powerful to permit freedom, as she aided the fall of already 2 chief gods. Aphrodite, was in most senses a titaness-nereid (titan or demi-titan & partial nereid 'sea nymph") as she was born from the remnants of Uranus' castration, falling into the sea fathering the last offspring he would have, her being one of them. Her height exceeded the Olympians, but did not equal that commonly of a titan, or so claims have stated. She is actually older then all of the original olympians, but her youth everlasting makes her appear significantly younger. Many titans, became olympians, yet many forget or overlook their origins, one of the most dark & well known titaness olmpian was Hecate, whom was also half primordial. Like most cultures & faithes, the fall of the current & rise of the old, have always been a whispered belief..... such as a common one that upon the rise of the titans from tartarus would being apocalypse to mortal man, as they would raise war on the olympians. Mortals were not created during the rein of the titans.... they were created by the olympians.... so the titans not caring for mortals, would be dreadfully understandable. There is actually a ton more, but i doubt i could put it all in one comment box sorry.
