Hello folks!
Here is part one of a two night wild camping trip taking in two separate locations. Night one was a roadside camp in the MSR Elixir 1. The camp started wet and the area was flooded the full trip but we had a good fire and had a good chance to share the locations we camped in.

Another brilliant. vid Gaz, the bit you filmed in the morning really showed the autumn colours. As for worrying about what people want to watch vs what you want to do, always go with what you want to do, that way you're enjoying the trip and it is very obvious to the viewer as you show such enthusiasm when you're doing something you love. It doesn't matter if it's car camping or summit camping your vids are always great and I'm looking forward to the next installment of this trip.

Thanks Susz, I enjoy it when people like the videos and the mountain camps seem to be everyone’s favourite on the channel. I’m filming a video at the moment and if I remember tomorrow morning I’m going to mention my plans for this winter. The Bridge of Balgie area is worth a visit all year round but it’s best to be saved for when the midges are away. ATB Gaz

I like the set up seeing what you deal with in different conditions. Definitely put in more thoughts on doing camps you like and less worry about what others expect to see in a video, love the videos as you have them formatted. Beautiful area! Thank you for sharing!

I recently watched a recent video where Monty was using the heater that was attached to the gas can so I decided to buy it from Amazon and will be testing it out this weekend on a camp! Great video as always Gaz, Cheers

Hope you get out even if it involves camping closer to the car. Low level camps have been rare for me recently which is why my MSR has took a back seat. ATB Gaz

think that 350 is more of a base camp tent :) so big you could of had the fire in the vestibule lol

I agree with your comments. For me it’s an ideal tent for winter low level camps over 2 or 3 nights. Very big for 1 or 2 people. ATB Gaz

Hi Gaz, how is the ul80 pad in the current weather. I recently bought 2 for myself and my son to do some camping but fear they won’t be suitable at this time of the year. Unfortunately I was cold the night of this camp. I saved my winter mat for the summit camp which will be shared next Wednesday assuming all goes well with the editing. I would only recommend the UL80 as a 3 season Mat. Comfy mat and maybe could do a job for low level camps in winter but based on my recent experiences with it I would not recommend doing that. Either way I hope you get out camping. ATB Gaz

@@GazTheExplorerThanks for the quick reply. I really want to get a higher rated pad before I venture out. I did buy the big Agnes rapide however I returned it as it was very narrow in regular size. So hoping to get a wide pad that will take me out during the cooler months, although I will say that I’m not going out when it’s hitting freezing. Those camps look torture 😂

Trekology mats aren't for winter and to be honest, they are rubbish and don't last long. Major heat sinks due to the thickness. I would personally advise against this product and see if you can get a refund. By far the most comfortable mats though 😭

@@MontyOutdoors Hi Monty, thanks for your input. I’m happy to keep the mats as my son likes to do the occasional back garden camp with his mate, so they aren’t the most expensive thing to replace when he inevitably burst them 😂 They only cost £25 each with the voucher applied.

I doubt id ever be able to afford all the gucci gear you camp with..would you camp with more wallet friendly gear?

I think some channels camp with more budget friendly gear to help their viewers whereas I just like to relax with gear I’m comfortable with and share my wild camp with everyone. My good mate Monty is a better watch if you’re looking for budget friendly gear👍
