That’s a great informative video for those who never even try surface adjustments to get a ball fine tuned! Awesome man!

I signed on today to see if anyone had a reaction doctor video on the Wild Streak, and once again, you came through. You have helped me learn so much about what I didn't know- coming from a 20 year layoff, the game passed me up in that timeframe, but I'm learning fast. Thanks for watching. :D

Great tutorial vid!!! Loved my Wild Streak out of the box and with a fresh 3000 pad on a THS. Took it to 5000 polished for the Nationals Team Pattern. Loving it with a 1.25" pin to PAP as well. But yeah, you're spot on about matching ball motion with pin reaction, via ball surface. Listen to Luke! He's the best A-hole snob on the inter-webs... HA!!!

Fantastic video Luke. I found the same result with the pro motion. Out of box it was way too much off the spot and too early. After polishing it with tru cut it has been lights out and love it!

I still don't know why this ball was discontinued so fast.

Just didn’t sell. Doesn’t really stand out on the shelf, and if people aren’t buying it, they aren’t going to keep it in production. Unfortunate, but that’s the way business works

Perfect timing Luke. I won a ball raffle yesterday, and just selected a Wild Streak; based upon today's Demo Day test run results. Just been reviewing all of your videos to make sure I made the right choice. Looking at it as a step down from my Phaze 2 and/or Sonic. To get thru the fronts when they start to go, but blend out the reaction on the back end.

Congratulations for finding it lol . . it's officially releasing Saturday, but I found out that if I went ahead and added it to a playlist or two, it would show up in the playlist even if it was still technically unlisted, so those who go searching will find a few things that haven't quite been made public yet . . glad you liked it!

This is a great video, Luke. Your videos are both enjoyable and insightful - you somehow balance these two things out with ease. Good stuff! I was recently gifted an Unhinged. It had maybe 20 games on it, so it's basically brand new. So far, that ball is earning a spot in my tournament bag with how it rolls. Do you see a similar roll from that Unhinged family of balls and this one? The cores are mighty similar, and I'm quite curious about grabbing this one for tournaments also. Thanks for any and all insight!
@LukeRosdahl4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the Unhinged, Hyroads, and the Wild Streak all have a lot in common. If it strikes, take it everywhere!

Luke, I am new to the idea of surface changing balls as almost every ball in my bag is lane shined as you put it. My question is can you make surface adjustments during practice pre bowl, say during league or at tournaments? or do you have to make your adjustments prior to warm ups? Awesome video learned a lot. Thank you
@LukeRosdahl5 жыл бұрын
You can make surface adjustments outside of when you're actually scoring, so you can practice and adjust surface in practice until you like it, but once the "lights turn on," you can't alter the surface.

Great timing for me as well, even though the Wild Streak isn't on my radar! For me, the discussion of finding the sweet spot in terms of surface was really illuminating. Before league this past week I hit a couple balls with 2000 which I didn't end up using. As an afterthought i went over my Sure Lock with 4000 and didn't notice much difference in appearance, but my carry was amazing - 17 of the first 19 balls around the pocket carried, just one flat-hit 7 and a solid 8 (left-handed). Struggled with carry the last game and left 4 seven pins in the first six frames. When you mentioned using 4000 to take off the lane shine I immediately thought - aha! Suffice it to say we'll hit it with 4000 again before league this week! For your video, are you applying these surface changes by hand or with a spinner?
@LukeRosdahl5 жыл бұрын
Marc Friedman By hand. A spinner will get more consistent results, but most people make adjustments by hand during warm ups/practice, so that’s what I was mimicking

Thank you for this great video. Maybe the forum could help. I am on the fence with buying either the wild streak, nuclear cell, phase 3. I mostly bowl on THS. I currently have in my bag idol pearl, storm fever pitch, and storm joy ride. If anyone could help thank you.
@LukeRosdahl5 жыл бұрын
Stvn* Universe The Wild Stream would be the most different from what you have, you have weaker pearls and then a stronger Pearl, Nuclear and Phaze 3 are shiny flippy reactions too, so the Wild Streak being a solid would give you the most diversity

Love your videos Luke. Also, it seems you stone an 8 pin in every video lol

What's really funny is that it happens the majority of the time on the very first shot when I go from 2nd arrow to 3rd regardless of the ball or the condition.
@TylerTrill5 жыл бұрын
What surface would you recommend on a phaze 2 my ball hooks from one gutter to the other
@Tenpinmaster5 жыл бұрын
4000 grit + laneshine should do the trick.. or more ball speed xD or you can try to put 4000 on it and then polish it.. but you may not like the result as the ball can get too flippy and uncontrollable. You have to try different things.. that ball maybe also just too much ball for the condition you are using it on.. phaze 2 is a strong, early and smooth ball that needs plenty of oil.. as luke always says: you shouldnt try to force the ball into something that it simply wasnt designed for.. just switch to a weaker ball. ;)

@Luke Is it possible to know what will happen using the out of the box surface? If you go higher it will have this effect. If you go lower it will have this effect.
@LukeRosdahl5 жыл бұрын
I showed the box surface in my reviews and In Depth, so that's why I skipped it for this one. Surface is usually predictable, smoother surface is longer and quicker, stronger surface is earlier and smoother.
@TonySnider695 жыл бұрын
@@LukeRosdahl thanks. I might have to try resurfacing once it becomes necessary to. And after I get use to ball reactions and know what I want to do.
@thomasworrilow42285 жыл бұрын
Hey luke, ive been contemplating a phaze 2 for a while now. Just havent drilled one bc my speed is on the slower side compared with my rev rate and only been bowling on higher friction house shots. Do you think a wild streak would be a better option for now to drill instead of phaze 2? I have a phaze 2. I just would rather it sit undrilled than sit with holes in it.
@LukeRosdahl5 жыл бұрын
Thomas Worrilow Yeah I definitely think so. Will still hook for you but will get down the lane easier. That’s part of what makes it so good for me, I have a heavier roll to begin with so most of the time I end up fighting with stronger stuff just to get it down the lane, this one doesn’t make me do that. I can roll it the way I like, and it reacts great

Dear Luke, Based on your recommendation from a post I made on a previous video on the WildStreak, I picked one up and share similar opinions about it. It too is now my first ball at league. Because of my bowling style at present the coverstock is sanded to 1000 CTD trucut pad but have experienced similar issues you stated in your video. I'd like to try the coverstock at 2000 CTD pad but before I do, in your video when you took your ball to 2000, was it at the 1000 & 4000 grit first? Thanks.

Is the Marvel pearl or a hay road better for a 40 foot sport shot?
@LukeRosdahl5 жыл бұрын
Way too many variables there to give a very good answer, and typically shiny stuff isn't going to be great to begin with.

First ball with that high an RG? That’s pretty cool. I’d like to see a two hander throw it
@LukeRosdahl5 жыл бұрын
Nah, the Fight and Street Fight were both 2.62. This one is insane though. A ball with an RG that high shouldn't rev up and do what it does. It's like a solid Hyroad.
@justmakingthistoreply50855 жыл бұрын
Luke Rosdahl theres a street fight on eBay undrilled. Maybe I should pick it up or finally just bite the bullet and get a Hyroad or the Wildstreak. The one ball I do have with a high RG is a Brunswick Meanstreak and it’s definitely a dry ball. I try to gauge the meaning of RG as the higher it is the drier the lane and longer it goes before it’ll hook but maybe I’m just not getting it.
@jamesshanebrook6405 жыл бұрын
Luke would this ball be a good compliment to a Hy- road X. i am about 14 mph with low rev rate and a down and in type bowler. Thanks.
@LukeRosdahl5 жыл бұрын
They might be a little too similar, both higher RG solids, the X just has polish on it, so you'd probably want to look at something more like an Idol Pro or Idol Pearl
