I don't know how I missed this video! 2:55 was super cool, It is a perfect demonstration of the effect. I have no clue why the cake slowly regained its color, I wish I knew more about biochem lol. Thanks for the shout-out!

To be honest I think the color being more visible actually had to do with the lighting. I remember looking at it throughout the day and sometimes I could see it and then it just seemed barely noticeable at one point. It looked best when it was dark outside so I am wondering if it has something to do with uv light hitting it and the way our eyes pick the color up. 🤔 Who knows! And of course! You were one of the first people to start commenting on this channel and I always thought it was so cool that your name on here is Prometheus. I had to throw the corny Greek mythology joke in there but for real thank you for your support since the very beginning!

What a treat that you've shared this with us! It's so nice to see that touch of yesteryear you bring to the table. Back in the day we had to get creative as there was no Amazon to bring anything and everything to our doorstep. I so enjoy your videos! Thank you, (glad you brought your family)

Thank you so much! It’s always so much fun doing things like this and experimenting. I do enjoy our modern day conveniences but nothing beats getting crafty with the things we have on hand.

Thank you! It was really nice. I can’t wait to make the dressing again. Especially with the herb infused oil & infused vinegar you suggest in the book! See you on Friday for the livestream! 😊 🌿 🥰

Chokecherry juice stays purplish after cooking! 3 cups flour 1.5 cups sugar 1 Tbls Baking powder 1 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla 2 sticks butter 5 eggs 2 cups chokecherry juice Mix it well, bake at 350 for 40-60 min. When done, turn off oven & leave it in for 15 minutes to finish from the residual heat. Ends up mildly sweet & textured like banana bread. :)

Oh but avoid aluminum! (Baking powder has it sometimes) It's high in copper and may make mildew-resembling green splotches when they react.

That sounds delightful! Yeah there are a lot of great berries that keep color after cooking. I am just stubborn and wanted to make it work with the violets haha. The anthocyanins in them just aren't as stable I suppose. Thanks for sharing!
