I could understand a very young teen or adolescent, but any, AND I MEAN any military child I know of.... That is of enough age to know that the military uniform, is not to be worn like a sports uniform or school pride jersey. Military service is not sacred, nor a religion, nor really even important in what America stands for. But it is not a joke either. Like wearing a police uniform, or pretending to be a doctor, there are strong reasons and federal laws. I know of, nor have ever heard of a military child wearing their parents uniform out in public... why! because they would know better.

Stolen valor isn't a crime unIess you Ile about some thlngs in for monetary gain. This is listed on the the gov. website. If you assauIt someone for "stolen valor", it is not they that committed a crime, but you. If you are in the military and you are hostlIe to people about someone "stealing your valor", I question why it is you jolned the military. Did you joln the military to f33d your narclsslsm by wanting people to pralse and honor you? Or did you joln because you wanted to perform a civic duty and serve the country? True freedom and liberty means that people can wear a uniform without fear of being attckd.

You are right, above. But there have been state and federal laws about people pretending to actively be serving in the military. Do you think a doctor, police, a priest, a judge .... would not also be protective of not only their profession, career but also be angry and upset someone is pretending or fear of the harm that could cause. There is better ways to handle people actively committing impersonation of active military service. Take their picture and report it to the law. Oh and also, ask the law enforcement officer how they would feel if someone is just walking around pretending to be a policeman.

@@rwhite9994 I'd have to see some actual laws for that. They can be angry and upset all they want, just as long as they do not assault someone. I am a Libertarian. I believe in true freedom and Liberty. This means you can do anythlng you want, just as long as you don't cause direct physical or financial harm to someone. If you do cause harm to someone by lylng about somethlng, then they have recourse with you because you defrauded them and caused them harm. So for instance, let's say you pretend to be a doctor and you Ile to someone that you are qualified to give them a knee surgery. Then they come to you expecting you know what you are doing and you d3stry their knee, they can take you to court. Or in some cases they can have you arrested and jailed if the police determine that they acted with vloIence. This is all supposed to be decided in court. If you tell someone that you are not a doctor, and they want you to operate on them anyway and you d3stry their knee, then that's on them. They get no recourse. Impersonating a police officer is different. People seek police officers are looking for immediate help in an emergency and will cause a delay which will cause harm in even the first instance.

Except almost every video you see isn't stolen valor and these vets (and yourself) are too dumb to know what stolen valor even means. United States vs Alvarez in 2012, the Supreme Court ruled that wearing a uniform is NOT stolen valor, and protected by 1st Amendment. Barak Obama reintroduced the Stolen Valor act on 6/3/2013. The Act makes it a federal crime to fraudulently claim to be a recipient of certain military decorations or medals in order to obtain money, property, or other tangible benefit. "IN ORDER TO OBTAIN..." Going to put it in caps for you slow ones: JUST PRETENDING TO BE FORMER MILITARY IS NOT STOLEN VALOR AND IT'S NOT ILLEGAL.

Stolen Valor is just a term for state and federal laws of people who are pretending to be an active military personal. (Save for role play with the wife or an actor in a movie), there are very strong reasons you do not want civilians doing this. From safety, security, fraud, and more. And please, please remember that the valor that is being referred to is not just one person, but all of Americans who served in the military, those they have protected, and all Americans who have ever lived.

I really like Daniel, but i have to say that this show had the UGLIEST set and production design of any show ever on TV. And his outfits weren't much better. He interviewed the woman who dressed him on his podcast and she is THE WORST. Nice person, but just so bad at her job it gives me hope that i could do anything no matter how bad i suck. Stolen Valour When an individual commits stolen valour - wearing government sanctioned medals, uniforms, or decorations they are not entitled to, or possessing documentation that falsely identifies them as Canadian Armed Forces - they degrade the honour and sacrifices of those rightly wearing the uniform… and they are breaking the law. It is an offence under Sections 419 A and B of the Criminal Code of Canada for anyone, other than the recipient, to wear a uniform of the Canadian Armed Forces or Service Insignia, such as medals, ribbons, badges, chevrons or other decoration. It is also an offence for anyone to wear any imitation of the above if it is likely to be mistaken for the said uniform, or service insignia, etc.. The Legion condemns any act that disrespects Canada’s Veterans and Dominion Command fully supports that individuals be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for acts of stolen valour. Additionally any member convicted in Canada of an offence under section 419 of the Criminal Code of Canada (Stolen Valour), shall be summarily expelled from the Legion as per The General By-Laws article 203.
