Wildfire threatens millions of dollars in equipment. We have to move it NOW!

Another large wildfire was heading towards one of the snowcat maintenance and storage facilities that houses the snowcats used to maintain the snowmobile trails in the area, so they called and asked if I could move them down off the mountain to safety. My family and I were at dinner with ‪@BruceCookfmx‬ and his girlfriend when I got the call, so we finished up, unhooked the ‪@zackliftinternational4841‬ from the ‪@SeriousTrucks‬, hooked up to the ‪@trail-ezetrailers5661‬ lowed, and headed up the mountain.
Then as predicted, Bruce left early because he's still the worlds laziest recovery guy

As tough as your job is, it is impossible to say it isn't fun. I've been trucking with FedEx ground for a decade and I'm being micro-managed out of my job. Nobody wants 2 million mile safe drivers that can shift a manual. I'm watching your videos because I need a big change in my life.

I also got close to that 2 million mile mark at 18 years of trucking, from 1979 to 1997. In 97 I got an offer to enter an electrical apprentice program at 43 years old and never looked back. Been a journeyman electrician about 25 years and have worked around the world with the US military, been a great ride as was the trucking I did also. Still have my CDL but don't use it much... that medical is getting tougher to pass as the years go by and I'm at 71 now. Sometimes I get tired just watching Casey do all the stuff it takes to keep several rigs ready and run a family life too !!!

Thanks for helping Chris and crew out. He’s a huge volunteer - snow mobile trails all winter and MTB trails all summer. Scary set of fires. The wife and I spent that night packing up all our expensive stuff and watching the fires burn closer. There was a solid layer of ash in everything in the morning. Fire burned to within 5 miles of our house before the rain finally came in and the wind shifted. Not fun.

we get rippin' wildland fires occasionally, no trees to slow 'em down. 5 or 6 years back, we had one make a nearly 40 mile run in about 6 hours. That year we set records locally. Biggest burn was 500K acres, ran full length of the family ranch and caused the deaths of a toddler and an unborn baby and burnt the parents pretty bad. Was like seeing Hell unleashed.
