Side Hustle Ideas for Everyone! | Ways we have ACTUALLY made extra money

To add extra income I cut hair, typed papers in college, as an adult I have cleaned homes and businesses, bartered for services, pet sat, baby sat, sold items online from thriftstores and items I had around my house or found during Curbside Shopping Sprees, sold other items at fleamarkets, yardsales, worked as a Personal Care Giver, done paint touchups for apartments, made crafts and sold them, merchandised for a Greeting Card company, taught classes, recycle for bottle deposits, lawn care for a former teacher- there are alot of things anyone can do to bring in extra money. Last October, I had a temporary merchandise job fluffing Christmas Trees. It has been a lot more fun than any of the full or part time jobs I have held. And, now I am retired from full time work I still find side hustles.

Ahh yes. Homeschooling mom here too. And you are 100% right. Love kids. But the thought of having to talk to their parents make me want to run away😂😂

I also taught preschool for a while, and parents can be a lot to deal with. Definitely the worst part of the job lol.

I have been a Cashier for 45 years , and Most people that do Instacart and Door Dash usually end up quitting, because they don’t save enough money back for their Taxes, because most or Low Income, and they don’t have enough money to save, But I do know one thing people with lot of kids get Food Stamps and go to Food Pantry, and it’s sad because These places give the Poor Food that is out dated, I do Feed Sorry for all the Poor people in the World, I Could Not imagine Living this Life, Your Daughter is Very Gifted, I do admire you guys, and Pray 🙏 you all Life Style will get better ,

Hydroponics! When I lived in Pasadena, I went on an urban farm tour. One family had their whole backyard set up-hydroponic gourmet lettuces to sell to fancy restaurants & tilapia on the other side. They also kept bees. Their front yard was their family garden. They called themselves “free-gans.”

Love this. I recently was able to semi retire and have become a little bored for the first time in my adult life (raised four children). Now I am looking for something to do about 10 hours a week. This was super helpful. You two are so sweet together. ❤

Great ideas! Your daughter is very talented. I’m a writer, and like thousands of other people I have many poems, stories and other pieces that I’ve written. There are hundreds of litmags - literary magazines - that pay money to publish my best work. I’ve also had poems and stories published in collections of my own and anthologies. It’s possible to make some good money this way, and it’s really enjoyable!

One thing I've learned about being an entrepreneur and being a creative person is it's really hard to hone in on one thing and focus on it. It's easy to be interested in so many different things and trying to narrow it down is sometimes difficult.

Binge watching your content! I don't blame you for not wanting to deal with parents. I decided not to sign up as a sub/teacher's aide for the same reason. I ended up getting hired elsewhere anyway. Thank you for the ideas!

You have the best channel. I love hearing from you both. There are so many ideas here I have never thought of. My son and I walk dogs in the neighborhood. We do not spend money on gas, I do not need to dress up like I would a 9-5 job, and I get to spend time outdoors and with animals. You have mentioned you used to watch dogs in your neighborhood. Did you find that insta cart was a better side hustle? Another great side hustle is helping older people with technology! I have so many older people in my neighborhood. I can charge them per hour to come over and help with with anything they need. I help them make Christmas cards on minted or help them navigate a new phone neighborhood app (we use Slack) I love computers and now realize not everyone else does. You can also help older people organize and get rid of things that no longer serve them. I do a Swedish death cleanse yearly and I am only 45 yrs. Old. I live to get rid of things my family is not using. A lot of older people need help with this. And it is a gift to the families they leave behind.

Instacart is more consistent than pet sitting for us right now. We moved to a new area where we don't know as many people - so don't have as many personal leads lol. We can also make more money on Instacart than with apps like Rover/Wag - but that is very dependent on your area. IC in our area is great. I love your idea about helping the elderly! It's a Win-Win!

@@raisingwildflowers That makes sense! I was just trying to figure out why you stopped the dog sitting/walking. We live in a new development in Nashville, TN. We were the third house to move in and now there are over 200 houses. A lot of my neighbors are older and their pets are their babies. And their landscaping they have spent a lot of money and time on. I hace a few jobs every week where a neighbor contacts me and asks to pet sit or water plants while out of town. I am home with 4 kdis so this is fun money and I think I can turn it into a legit business and our neighborgood will continue to grow 50 homes every year. We hope to move to FL someday too! But for now Nashville is home. Thani you for being such an inspiration.

What is the best way with helping older people to do this? I do all kinds of jobs for a family member who needs assistance but I'm not sure how to get my name out there for up to help other people.

​@@2strive405 maybe trying making mini flyers and doing a letterbox drop to as many homes as you can offering your services, mentioning you're local and looking to help people with jobs around the home or shopping or even just companionship - old folk really need that.
