Pedro Hoffmann Germany would have lost the Support of the NATO, and we would had to resist to the red army alone. The Russians would have crossed the Rhine in maybe 2 days. At least this was the point of view of Konrad Adenauer. He decided to not accept on his own. Interesting for a chancellor in a democracy.
