A bunch of yall callin him a racist, meanwhile he is just speaking what he feels and even stated that Malcolm Jenkins who is 100% black should be part of the Citizen of the year conversation. People legit look at the title and comment, but never watch the full video. Idiots.

It's kind of sad how Will Cain's point was "there was a more positive way Colin kaepernick could have gone about this to help start a movement" and yet he's being called a racist and other things. That type of reaction comes off as insecure, unintelligent, and unable to accept responsibility. If someone offers you constructive criticism you listen, evaluate, and then use it if it's helpful. Calling someone a racist just because they have an alternative perspective on a situation that they believe would have been more beneficial for everyone is just simply childish which is why we have so many problems in this country.

I think Trevor Noah said it best. There is no "more positive way" for minorities to protest. The only way some (and I stress SOME) white Americans want minorities to protest is for them not to see it or for it to stay out of their way.

Who made the larger sacrifice. That's what I expect out of citizen of the year. Who is able to put their very safety and security on the line to stand up for what they believe in, who uses their platform to shine light on those who don't have one. Will Cain will forever want it both ways. "I understand but..." He sounds like he would've been a "I'm understand that MLK brother, but I don't think that Malcolm X dude is productive to the conversation," not realizing the Civil Rights Movement (or any significant social movement) needed both sides in order to succeed.

Before ya'll start talking shit about Will Cain why don't y'all do some research on Fidel Castro and while you're at it look up Malcom X' who called for a divided America and advocated violence as the solution to systemic injustices. that alone is enough for Kap to not deserve this cover. No Im not racist, no I am not against what he did; but Will is absolutely right when he said kap has a very loose understanding of this issue. Malcom Jenkins would of had my vote.
@jordanlacayo9898
@jordanlacayo9898 6 жыл бұрын
Nathan Gold I love Muhammad Ali, love me some Tupac, but Malcom X had his head in his rear end and he confessed to it near the end of his life when he mentioned that his earlier views on racism and violence as a means to ending racial injustices in America were wrong. As for Castro, listen here my dude if you think that it's okay to not dislike Castro because he assassinated hundreds of thousands of Cubans and not African Americans you're all the way wrong brother. I'm Nicaraguan btw plenty of black people there including my father ;)
@jordanlacayo9898
@jordanlacayo9898 6 жыл бұрын
Nathan Gold I got you man, like I said earlier there is nothing wrong with Kapernicks actions on the football field to raise awareness on the very high levels of racism that still exist today. I have defended kapernick on this matter extensively( I believe he should be hired by now). I approve and support every black athlete who has knelt during the anthem and I for one think we should get rid of it (because it was written by a very racist piece of shit) and adopt a new anthem. Anyhow, I don't have agree with Malcom X's ideology at one point he was pushing for the full separation of blacks and whites while Martin Luther King was trying to end racial segregation. But you have your views and I respect them. I'm just not one to admire any individual regardless of skin color who uses violence and hatred to solve social issues. Lastly, Castro was a sick murderer who killed like he was playing grand theft auto I'm sorry if i agree with Will here that Kap wearing those shirts was ridiculous and irresponsible

Nathan Gold Yet Trump has done more for blacks than liberals.Hmmm
@justinfrazier3610
@justinfrazier3610 6 жыл бұрын
Nathan Gold The reason blacks are dependant is because of failed Liberal Social policies in inners cities. Also 73% wedlock birthrates that's a 50% increase from the 1960s. Malcolm X was not a racist but he definitely was a militant and he was against Martin Luther King Civil Rights Movement aswell. He saw later how he was deceived by the Muslim Brotherhood and their affiliations with white liberals etc. Eventually he joined Martin Luther King before he died before he ratted out the Muslim Brotherhood. Also Malcom X shouldn't be the trademark of blacks in America it should be someone like Thomas Sowell and black conservatives. Liberals are not in the interest of creating independence the who philosophy is big government and let government control your life and income also freemarket that has made America the richest economy.
@justinfrazier3610
@justinfrazier3610 6 жыл бұрын
Nathan Gold Trump also stands for free market capitalism,deregulation, stricter immigration policies and winning the war on Isis. Over regulation has killed alot of jobs and forced them overseas also plummet black small businesses aswell. Trump is not a true Conservative but he represented what Americans wanted to hear and wanted after 8 years of Obama cowarding to terrorist groups and even giving Iran the capability to launched a nuclear strike by given the Billion's of American taxpayer dollars. I could go on why Trump is great for America but I getting sleepy lol.

The reason Colin should have won over Watt comes down to one word "Integrity". What Watt did was admirable and there's no denying that but the fact the Kap had the risk factor involved with his decision is what puts it over the top. The integrity he displayed is exhibited by the fact that he knew he could lose so much and did what he believed was morally right despite it all (losing his job, money, fans, image shift). Watt getting all those donations and being in the front lines was great but he knew he would get nothing but praise and "atta boy" along with he had nothing to lose(i am not implying this is why he did those things to help out in the slightest).

Sir Tibbz98 I don't think he was willing to lose his job because he said he would not kneel after opting out and is trying to sue the league for collusion. I'm not saying JJ did something or that he should be been chosen, but the purpose of what he did was to raise money to help with the damages the hurricane bought. Colin' s main goal was to just bring awareness. But what he kept doing was making people he was asking to talk about the issues madder cause he brought the flag into it

Will KKKain pretty much contradicted himself sentence after sentence. Kaepernick is GQ's Citizen of the year and rightfully so because he took a strong stance about the low conduct being produced by law enforcement when it comes to people of color. He didn't have to do it, but he used his platform to express his concerns while jeopardizing his own image in the eye of corporate white America. This country claims to be a "post-racial" society; however, the numbers aren't adding up to how the overall population of blacks in America is 13% and over 40% are currently in prison. The fact that there's a high number of police killing unarmed blacks, the poor education in urban neighborhood, and we not even gonna get into the racist slurs to the hate crimes constantly happening all over this country. Kaepernick is learning to become a leader off the field while defying the odds and for that I commend him for it. “I don’t know what most white people in this country feel. But I can only conclude what they feel from the state of their institutions. I don’t know if white Christians hate Negroes or not, but I know we have a Christian church that is white and a Christian church that is black. I know, as Malcolm X once put it, the most segregated hour in American life is high noon on Sunday.That says a great deal for me about a Christian nation. It means I can’t afford to trust most white Christians, and I certainly cannot trust the Christian church. I don’t know whether the labor unions and their bosses really hate me - that doesn’t matter - but I know I’m not in their union. I don’t know whether the real estate lobby has anything against black people, but I know the real estate lobby is keeping me in the ghetto. I don’t know if the board of education hates black people, but I know the textbooks they give my children to read and the schools we have to go to. Now this is the evidence. You want me to make an act of faith, risking myself, my wife, my woman, my sister, my children on some idealism which you assure me exists in America, which I have never seen.” - James Baldwin

Poor victim mentalitly at its finest....go ahead call me a racist i could care less your long winded speech was hilarious. The white man keeps me poor, the white man keeps me oppressed, the white man made me commit twice as many crimes as everyome else but have the nerve to play dumb and ask why are the cops messing with me... Facts dont lie check them for yourself nor does a fact care about your social status or feelings because it is what YOU made it. I am so sick of people in general blaming everyone but the person in the mirror. When do you take on some acountability for your own action and quit blaming everyone else. Want out the hood get yo ass out the hood i did, went to college and got a decent job making ok money living in a 200k house.... Only difference is i didnt blame anyone and dont go looking for the sympathy vote then yell racist when i dont get it. Looking like a 3 year old throwing a tantrum.

+Adam Robinson Lol Are you serious? A child raised in the state of dysfunction, single parent household, low income, poor educational system and living in a dangerous environment will lower their chances for not only survival, but an opportunity to do what you frivolously speak of. You more than likely won't get into college, get a decent job and living in a 200k household living like that. Some people of fortunate. Others are not. You clearly have no idea what "institutional racism" is. This is your chance to catch up and learn. KZbin it.

+dyodoublej Stay on topic. I'm talking about police killing unarmed black men/women and you're talking about drugs? Black people on crack weren't suppose to be in prison to begin with. It's a drug. Rehabilitation should of occurred. Opioids is a drug also right? It's being used overwhelming by whites right? They're not going to prison because they're getting the help they need. Look it up. And you don't even have proof of numerous black judges handing out these sentences to black criminals. I doubt it. Stop it. You know what's a fact? What I said in my first post. Blacks make up 13% of the US population yet 1/3 go to prison (30-40% of the population) and 1/17 whites go to prison. If you can't do math to how unbalanced that is then you're truly accepting your racism.

Gambit Bronson you are still insistent on playing ohh poor pitiful me. You end up in prison cause you fuck up more than others period. Then look to everyome.but yourself as the person to blame... Entitled little bitches are the lot of people who think like you... smoking crack or selling crack? Smoking is a misdemeanor which carried little.to no time SELLING is a felony...Which are you referring to? Blanket statement after blanket statement with no more than your snowflake feeling being hurt to justify or back anything up. Pathetic
