I recently got a Squadra box for mine, not experimented with burnout mode yet, but how did you go from static to rolling? Did you turn off ‘burnout’ mode whilst doing it? Note I also use the box to control the exhaust valve 😎
@ChrisDrift2 жыл бұрын
yeah just keep the throttle pinned and press the lane assist button to deactivate burnout mode and luckily it just turns off nicely and doesn't interfere with anything

You are totally right. It isn’t as easy as people think it is. When I knew I was getting rid of my Pirelli corsas I said screw it, let’s burn through these. Didn’t have a lot of luck.

I am planning to do a video about all the weird things that are different on the Alfa to german cars I've owned, but I'll see if there's enough to say about a direct comparison to the M4 (without actually having an M4 there lol) to make it worth a video on that as well

I have the Squadra Performance Logger on my 18' and still haven't tried burnout or launch mode. It would be cool to also see you try launch mode.
@dannyrobbo2 жыл бұрын
Have you tried “Roll bench / Dyno mode” on MES??? That disables ABS and traction but also let’s you run in Race mode. That’s how you 2wheel Dyno this car anyway, not sure if it will let it do a burnout. Seems I’ve found the man to try it 😉😂
@ChrisDrift2 жыл бұрын
On the older cars apparently you could run race mode even after disabling ABS etc with this squadra box, so it might be the same with that. I did actually manage to trick it into letting me put it in race mode even with ABS at one point, no idea how I did that. But it still only did one wheel burnouts 90% of the time :(

can you do a video showing the launch control function

haha yeah I am actually planning on doing something like a "10 weird things you have to get used to with an alfa romeo" video cos there's so many things that are just different to how every other car does it (even the windscreen washer stalk moves in the opposite direction to every other car I've ever owned haha)
@chebrneck2 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisDrift But it doesn't matter because the Quad provides a better driving experience than any other car in its class. I know, I have an 18' and it's an incredible experience.

Do all the faults automatically remove themselves once the OBD device is removed?
@ChrisDrift2 жыл бұрын
They all go away if you just turn ABS back on using the OBD device or if you turn the car off and back on

Of all the "flexes" one can do with fast cars, to me this is the most pointless. I watched this vid feeling sorry for the tires and the car. But hey, to each his own, enjoy!
@ChrisDrift2 жыл бұрын
It doesn't hurt tyres anywhere near as much as people think. The rear tyres still look pretty much brand new after all these burnouts. I don't see it as a flex in the slightest. I do it even when no one is around or if I'm not filming, so I don't think it can be a flex? But yeah, each to their own :)
@peytonponder84882 жыл бұрын
Clearly you’ve never had fun in a car before. Didn’t know having fun had to be a “flex”. Especially by yourself in the middle of no where LOL

I was in love with my Giulia and Alfa Romeo as a brand, however, I will never again buy/recommend another Alfa Romeo in my life. I had the brake by wire system fail on me and it caused me to crash and total the car. They sent someone from Bosch to diagnose the vehicle and in the charts it clearly showed that something malfunctioned (brakes were slammed 2 seconds before the impact at 40 MPH and it took more than 1.5 seconds for the speed to start going down.) Stellantis told me that they were not going to take responsibility for it and that I needed to have my insurance pay for the vehicle. Absolute garbage. I will never recommend this car brand to anyone again! Buy an AUDI, BMW or Mercedes instead!!!!!!

Aaron, I'm really sorry you had to go through such a terrible (and no doubt traumatic) experience. But you've been posting this exact comment under every Giulia video you can find for at least the past three months. Every day you go online and search for the latest Giulia videos to post this comment. At this point this is less of a public service and more of a creepy obsession.

@@TheKrazyKat89 That's exactly what I do, and like any person that's been wronged by a corporation big time, I'm going to keep going after them. I see no reason how it could be creepy though. I will say this, keep an eye out for the comments. They'll be coming forever.lol

yeah tbf it seems to vary a lot. The 350Z I mentioned I had to cut a wire on to enable burnouts, that was made in 2002. The supra that did burnouts real easily was made in 2020. So yeah it seems to just vary a lot from car to car, but I agree generally the newer cars are worse for letting you have fun
