Boy this brings back memories. We stored my wife's 77 TA for 22 years AZ. car. Stored inside, battery out, covered with engine fogged, axles hanging and every couple years fired up brought up to operating temp revved numerous times, and old gas siphoned out with fresh added along with sta-bil. Car fired up in 2009 and drove to the restorer, got full frame off OEM with minor modern upgrades, and car is like new today. Beauty!

Beginning of the drive and you start dissin the 2nd gen, 1st time you have ever driven one and you state it drives just like you'd expect a 2nd gen to drive. As an owner of a 2nd gen, I love the way it handles. Especially after I've driven my LeSabre. Takes me back to my simpler times when I was more worried about a bigger amp than a house payment. Could tell from the sound it had a miss right out of the garage, time is a killer. Good luck with the car, I'll be watching for tips from the 21st Century, to compare to mine from the 20th Century. My high school sweetheart is now my retirement project with my son.

I wasn't "dissing" the car when I first drove it. What I meant by it driving exactly like I thought it would, was because it's a slushy car compared to the late model stuff I'm used to. It drives great, and rides awesome. I'd happily road trip/power tour the car if it could run down the freeway at less than 3k rpms haha. I really do like the car, and will likely keep it over the Iroc-z I have because like you said. It's simple, and reminds you (and me) of simpler times. It's a rolling time machine.

How do you come across all these great cars? Can you help me find a really good 3rd gen or WS6 TA? How much do you want for the white car?
@Greenlightfilming3 жыл бұрын
You have to look constantly. More often than not nowadays, it doesn't seem to work out. You have to be there first, preferably with cash in hand. I'd sell the Iroc for 5k.

Needs a 4 speed swap. Camaro's are not cool as automatic. Especially being a z28. Get the original air cleaner for it to make the hood function. That hot air intake don't help anything. I did the flip over air cleaner trick at the drag strip and gained nothing. All it dose it make noise not speed.

You more than likely have 3.73 gears because I have 3.73 gears in my 83 SS Monte Carlo and that's about RPMs I see at 55 MPH
@Greenlightfilming3 жыл бұрын
Interesting. That's probably the case, because 55mph is a very happy cruising speed. Not too much RPM on it. 70mph is no bueno
