Yes, this episode of Mere paas tum ho was not as powerful as the earlier ones yet it was not a bad one. They should not have let Mateen sahab die. He was a balancing character and the one with whom Danish confided in.

I totally agree with Amna’s review on meray pass. Ehd e wafa , I’m enjoying all 4 tracks and I wouldn’t want any track to be sidelined. I’m interested in all 4 boys’ story. It was a good episode, nothing bothered me except just like Hassan I’m getting tired of shahzain’s negativity... our pseudo , wanna be villain 🙂 Hassan since Monty is your friend , can you clarify why they showed a shot of Monty smiling and feeling happy when Momin announced a different stylist? And I found Alif was a perfect episode , they tried to show momina is not able to grieve although her parents are crying their eyes out... she is emotionally numb now ..only her teacher was able to get a few tears out of her but she is still suffering silently inside. And lastLy ishq Zahe Naseeb... sameer praised the set saying gohar has good taste and since he wanted to gift her something she likes so he bought a new set to gift it to her. There was no recirculation of set. But agreed , slow episode.

Great review guys! But I really enjoyed Ehd-e-Wafa except for shawaiz part. He’s too stiff and trying too hard for the character. I really hope they don’t ruin Ishq zahe naseeb. It was going so well Although Alif was slow but I don’t feel it unnecessary as it kinda showed why even after Jahangir’s death, she still has to go and work. His treatment was her sole purpose to earn money and find work. With him gone she actually has no motivation to work. But now again she has a reason (debt) to work. I really enjoyed Sajal’s acting. She portrayed the look of someone dead inside and still go on living. 😢

I was hoping for Ehd e wafa but it has disappointed me greatly. I mean ai still watch it anyway because its better than the saas bahu type storylines. They promoted it as sort of an army drama but now we see only one guy is in the military. That is the biggest problem. Chaar logon ka screen time divide karna bohat mushkil hota hai. Sahi kaha hai Hasan ne ke banda aik bande ki kahani mai interest leta hai tu dusre ka scene ajata hai. Aur shariq ki pitai wala scene tu bohat bura likha hua tha. Matlab faltu mai us ko pakar ke le gayi koi bhi sarak se utha kar. I still watch it because of the eye candy 🙈.

I keep wondering why Mehwish would leave her husband for an illegitimate relationship and that too in Pakistan. Surely she would make sure he would marry her before leaving her husband. I feel that it is now going in that typical Pakistani drama direction where all the characters that do wrong are punished and those wronged get their happy ends. I was hoping it would be different because in real life when people cheat they often do find their happy endings too. It's not like all of them regret it..

I agree to the comment about Rumi's teacher. The writer does not seem to have much exposure in that particular area. Poor child lives in boarding and the teacher is complaining to the father with whom he gets to meet on weekends only. Her dialogues came across as shallow and insensitive. It's ironic that they introduced her character as a kind-hearted person when she fails to empathize with a child unless she is told about his personal issues.

i m reading ALIF novel. in novel momina got HW film role due to Vidyia balan can not come to PAKISTAN for the film shooting thats y they cast momina as she was as good as vidyia. In MPTH, I can see where Hassan is coming from. In a strange convoluted way, the writer is trying to 'elevate' or denote women as superior when he says aurat bewafa nahi hoti. Granted that its ridiculous and puts an inordinate amount of pressure and onus on women and none on the men. As a feminist, I completely agree that character traits are not gender specific. However, I do think that the author, through Mateen sahab was trying to say that women are superior to men, and because the aurat (Mehwish) in this case was entirely at fault, that's how the 'aurat hi nahi hoti' came to be. Also, Aamna, I'm not sure how anything Hassan was saying is mansplaining. You're discussing a drama, essentially a work of fiction. Neither of you are the author, so your knowledge isn't really more specialized than his. The only person who knows more about this is the author (which poses its own problems, but that's a separate conversation) I didn't get the teacher interaction either. I don't think a teacher can decide/bring up a child having to leave the school - that would typically be the principal's responsibility. Aap teacher hain toh teach karein, bacchon ko settle hone mein madad karein. I don't understand it at all. Aakhir mein. 20-25 crore mein kya hoga? Isse zyada toh Shehwar Mehwish ke divorce ke liye taiyyar tha na? Kuch samajh nahi aaya. :/ As always brilliant discussion, and I'm so obsessed with these episodes. Thanks you both ♥️

One good thing is, Heera Mani ne apni nose par lipstick nahi lagaai hui iss drama mein.....and of course, the teacher's behavior is highly irresponsible. So far Hira's dialogues violates one's sensibilities, like that " wo aurat lagti hai" dialogue !

Ehd e wafa was not that much ridiculous. I personally get bore by only one story at a time. So it is fine for people like me who enjoys stories simultaneously. And may be all the stories relate with each other later on.

In IZN, The lady in darbaar said to gohar " jo tumharay sath hoga, uskay sath bhi wohi hoga" and that is exactly what is happening, both gohar and kashif took a "U-turn" instead of marrying, both got a job in two of the most successful firms, both got fired and applied for other firm, both have their engagements on the same day, both have the same jewellery ( gohar is wearing the same design of ring which kashif gave to dooniya ) and they have they received the similar necklaces too as a gift. This is all because their "kismat" are same as said by the lady in darbaar.

I enjoyed the review of the week day dramas however not exactly impressed with this. The episodes of Alif and Ehd-e-wafa were pretty good. One should not expect big reveals or incidents in each episode, consistent, logical and sensible story telling should also be appreciated. Not a fan of meray pass tum ho so can't comment on that....

I agree! I enjoy Momin’s story more than Momina’s in Alif. And I have a feeling that “Mere paas tum ho” will come up with more controversial dialogues in almost every episode. We know now who wrote them so we can expect that 🙄

In alif drama something impactful is missing as compared to the novel. Each chapter in the novel starts of with a powerful and informative letter. It could be a letter written by husne jahan to taha/ abdul taha or to her own dad or to momin. It would be momins letters to Allah or to one of his parents. It could be dadas letter to taha/ momin / husne jahan...etc.... each letter was insightful and had powerful dialogues and described their state of mind perfectly. The letters were a joy and important to read in the novel....somehow the letters absent is noticable in the drama. It lacks their impact on the audience. They connected the audience with each character in greater debt. Wish the director had incorporated them somehow in each episode.

Being a doctor myself Mateen Sahib had a flat ekg line but had a perfect blood pressure of 115/70 on the monitor which is quite perfect for a dead man. He had an oxygen nasal cannulae which should always be place one meter away when defibrillating some one because oxygen catches fire and to correct you guys everyone should stay clear of the table so they don't get shocked but the doctor in this drama should have stayed clear of the table by the rules but didn't and was checking pulse didn't get shocked because he was wearing latex gloves and it acts as an insulator but why would you check for the carotid pulse while one is giving a shock. You should check the carotid pulse after the shock and he is placing the back of his hand near his ear to check for the carotids.

#MPTH episode was definitely flat. Though very powerful, with some excellent dialogues, still Mateen Sahab's death was very, very shocking, unexpected and possibly uncalled for. The staircase scene was the icing on the cake, Mehwish totally realized that she's been taken for a royal ride. Literally and figuratively. That's the main reason she remembered her son all of a sudden.

The reason why Hani (Roomi's teacher) says "Ye bacha is school me nahi chal skta" is because in most schools in Pakistan teachers assume that its parents responsibility to discipline their children or make them study or participate in class etc. Khaleel ur Rehman Qamar is only portraying his own experiences as he faced when a student, Matric system wale schools me yehe mahool hai. Halanke yeh boarding school hai yahan parent se guarantee lene ki koi tuk hi nahi hai. Bacha to sara wqt din rat hr wqt school me hai wo karen os pe mehnat parents kiya kr skte hain? thats a flaw at writing
