You pointing out the similarities between the two gave me the mental image of Szarekh and Guilliman meeting up and commiserating over having to deal with pointless internal squabbling and infighting when there are existential threats to their empires. Guilliman is chugging off a jug of Ultramarian wine, Szarekh is applying blackstone oil to his aching joints, and a Sister of Battle and a middling Phaeron are arguing nearby over who between the filthy soulless Xeno and the susperstitious ignorant lesser being gets to bring the two more refreshments. Cawl is attempting to reverse-engineer some Necron tech embedded in the wall, and a Blood Raven bodyguard and Trazyn the Infinite are both quietly grabbing everything which looks valuable and isn't anchored to the floor and stuffing them in their power armor and interdimensional pockets.

I’m dubious that it’ll be an outright alliance. If anything the Necrons will just look the other way when Imperial ships pass thru the gate.

I personally would love to see the Stormlord try to make a deal with Guillemin first. Not just as a twist, but to show that the Stormlord is more versatile and dangerous to the Silent King and his plans for domination. It also would give the Stormlord much needed depth, if we saw under what circumstances would he work with the lesser races.

He would never stoop so low. The Stormlord has an ego, while the Silent King appears to be rather beyond that.

I can imagine a secret arangement or alliance with Guilliman and the Necrons to help push back the Cicatrix Maledictum so that ability to cross the rift possible, they Imperium needs to tunnel through the Warp Storm. There will be Imperium Factions who will not like it and call Guilliman a hertic, like the Inqusution and the High Lords of Terra and Ecclesiarchy "making deals with Xenos"

Considering that Gulliman met Dante at the end of "The Devastation of Baal", he must have crossed the rift somehow at some point.

Yeah since that already happened once it's no way this is as big a deal as they are making it. It would be a continuity issue if they didn't have a way to travel across.

i think he means getting a larger scale force past the rift to retake the imperium nihilus, not just having a way to cross.

This has been retconned a little at this point it has happened but we don't know when it happened in relation to the Dark Imperium/Dawn of Fire series

I hate to point this out, but Guilliman may also need help from the Inquisition. More specifically, the Ordo Xenos! That would not go down well.

As for the SK and Angel interaction ... maybe some kind of Vision fueled interaction during one of the Angels campaigns during the Great Crusade like Sanguinius visions leading him to a necron artifact that gave him an opportunity to interact with the SK

He should sign a none aggression pact with them so long as the rift is open and while hive fleets keep appearing. It’s 40k so it’s possible for that to happen while there is still combat between them on a reduced scale. Or he could sign a coalition with them specifically aimed at the Tryranids and rift, if they are local to each other and fighting chaos or the nids they will help eachother, outside of that war continues.

Valdor left with russ to find the tree of life. The 13th great company returned to fenris as wulfen rogal dorn is mia with only his hands as prove or one hand depending on lore if the black legion had taken dorn there's no way abbadon wouldn't of bragged about it I also think dorn is the king in yellow omegon snatched him up as revenge and revelation the true battle against chaos as he builds the emperors forces and defenses within the warp custodes are immune to warp taint hence why themselves, pariah, and blanks like the sister of battle didn't succumb to the khorne blood curse, when big e trapped drachyn inside his favored custode he wasnt effected by its corrupting influence he eventually died leaving the sword in the webway only for abbadon to find later I think Valdor and russ have been trapped in a labyrinth it's mentioned somewhere magnus knows where russ is located it could be possible the spear of russ was killing him in order for him to survive he sought out magnus as the emperor wasn't strong enough yet to heal him I believe the wolf time refers to russ' inevitable wulfen transformation like the lost primarchs he too would be culled as evident by the space wolf's hunts for russ they've come across his armour and weapons perhaps valdor and russ died killing one another the possibilities

Magnus has 6/7 of his spirit shards theb7th being inside Janus of the grey knights the 1st grandmaster after 1000 years within the warp bubble malcador made around titan a new grandmaster was in place I wonder if he is in cryo like bjorn or is immortal like a primarch during the plague wars the emperor stated redemption towards mortarion as he viewed it as not his by choice but since he chose his new master he would have to return and answer to him before he burned nurgles garden

depends on whether living metal can be manipulated by the warp or not. I am inclined to think not because it would've given the necrons an edge in the War in Heaven against the old ones, the eldar, and the krork.

From my understanding, no. Getting possessed by chaos is very nearly impossible for a Necron even when trying their hardest to be possesed on purpose, so I doubt any force of chaos, even Vash'tor, can do anything to them. Makes sense after all. The Necrons are the closest thing the galaxy has to anti-chaos. (I'm ignoring the Tyrannids because they're worse)

While the Necrons can't really be corrupted by the Warp, they ARE still nanotech-assisted machines. The Arkifane's powers COULD potentially affect them to SOME degree. Maybe not the higher-tier Necrons but the typical Warriors are described as "merely adequate" in sophistication. Regular Necron warriors/drones might be vulnerable.

If they get involved it's probably not in the way nor for the reason you'd expect. Instead of trying to fight him or stop him. I'd see it more a tactical choice on their end to let it happen. And be aware of how and where. And likely disable, take over and or destroy his only hope of returning outside of like the emperor being able to rip open the very warp himself to let him pass back through. Which knowing them (The Necrons) they'd also anticipate and be waiting having the knowledge of the warp etc.
