I've been thinking about where Threads fits into my whole digital diet and the answer I came to was shockingly similar to yours. If it's for pictures of 24 hour only stories, I have Instagram. If it's for following niche creators or having a space away from friends and family, it's Bluesky (and formerly Reddit). Threads I find fills that niche of where I just express myself in text form with the intention of it to be seen by both friends and family - exactly what I used to use Facebook for years ago.
@echtogammut Жыл бұрын
Two things I find with Threads, one is it has Facebook's interesting censoring aka "are you sure you wish to follow this person". The second is it is a separate mobile only app. For most people this probably isn't that big of a deal, but I don't use my phone when I'm on my laptop and don't really consume content on my phone. I could run the app in an emulator, but honestly, I'm not going to do that, other than for business reasons. I'll open a Thread account to advertise an upcoming project, but I cannot see myself using the app for my personal consumption of news and media updates.
