WILL WE EVER HARVEST?!?! Snow and MORE rain in the forecast... Things are looking bleak.. October 14th, and we haven't harvested a thing. Today we spent the day shuffling equipment around and preparing for the upcoming snow and rain.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Hi Zach! This is Sam Hanson from Bismarck North Dakota! Thursday, Friday and Saturday we recieved 17.8 inches of snow, it just did not let up! In fact, I was supposed to be down by Hoffman, Minnesota and celebrate my father‘s 95th Birthday on Saturday, but Interstate 94 was closed! But, Bismarck way, they haven’t even started soybean and corn harvest! In fact, I hear that there is even some wheat out there waiting to be harvested.... It’s awful difficult when you get rain every third or fourth day. I guess we will have to pray for about three good weeks to get the harvest in! I’ll pray for good dry weather for you guys and the other farmers also! Until next time…Sincerely, Sam Hanson 😎

Hi Zach, exciting that harvesting is coming soon. I would imagine that no matter how much shed space you have, there is still going to be a John Deere shuffle. My that new JD combine looks beautiful -- but you "old reliable one" look pretty sharp as well. Thanks for all the updates on things that must be done to prepare for harvest. I didn't realize it and most people have no idea. Best wishes for minimum rain and maximum drying. You deserve it. -- Dean from Edina

I've been enjoying your videos. Grew up in southern Kandiyohi county. I remember some really wet falls in the early 80s when I was in HS. Dad had to leave some beans out as the old Deere 45 combine would get stuck. This year cannot be good. I currently live in the Fargo area and its really wet here. With the about 8" wet snow a few days ago added to all the rain, I am thinking nobody it getting out there unless the ground freezes, hopefully w/o more snow!
